  • Rarely get a bid from partner

    Bridge is very dependent upon communication of partner thru bidding. If you are void in partners bid suit, you usually have a suit of your own. I find myself playing at too low a level in the wrong suit too after because partner simply won't bid. 2nt jump with 10 hcp, ridiculous, should show at least close to opening. What I expect my partner to have is never the case, poor communication=poor bridge, don't even get me started on play. Apparently the best thing to do defending a NT bid is to set up opponents suit, not your own or partners.

  • New to Bridge - not a great learning tool

    I am, by all means, a beginner. I find the bidding on this app very frustrating. My computer partner never seems to follow the rules of bidding I’m trying to learn and practice. It frequently opens 1NT with an unbalanced hand for example. It NEVER goes to game even if our bidding suggests we have the combined HCP. Also, the HARD setting only seems harder in that you are dealt much lower hands (as opposed to having smarter opponents). The animation is very good and I would love this app if the aforementioned issues were resolved.

    A few observations:
    Although I’m a decent player, I shouldn’t win 97% of the time on the hard setting.
    The computer as north bidding partner:
    Sometimes opens one no trump with as few was 13 points;
    Is passive to opening bids or responding bids;
    If south opens and north overcalls, south better place the final game contract because north will pass leaving the contract seriously underbid;
    Where south has two long suits north fails to fix contract with proper choice
    Computer playing defense:
    Tends to cash out aces and Kings, a poor defense in no-trump. I’ve had a vulnerable Qxx hand then the computer inexplicably shifts suits leaving me the control in a weak suit.
    Computer as bidder:
    Never seems to takes obvious king finesse;
    In suit contracts;
    computer plays trumps even after they’re all pulled, losing control of the contract unnecessarily;
    Frequently under bids an obvious game contract

    Computer on defense.
    Fails to play 3td hand high, handing bidder cheap tricks
    Nonetheless, I enjoyed the game to a point. I don’t know if these issues can be worked out but it would make a real challenge on my hard setting if they can

  • Third man does not play high

    On defence, when you lead a suit, your computer partner ,as third player, plays its smallest card. The bidders always pick up a cheap trick.
  • Bridge

    Bidding is strange and no explanation of conventions used is available
  • Bridge

    Partner’s bidding — both opening and responding — seem artibrary.
  • Not bad

    If you know how to play bridge it’s a good app. The game plays just how I would expect it to. It could use better explanation of how the game is actually played. The design could be a little nicer and the ai a little better but the important thing is that the game works as it should and it being a simple card game none of the rest of that really matters. I’d recommend if you’re into this card game.

  • Give a thought to ........

    Give a thought to the concept that an individual may not wish to play a "1 bid".
  • Nice app, but could use some improvements

    I am enjoying this app very much. My suggestions:
    1) I would like to see the hands exposed at the end so we can review the play.
    2) Could we have a paid version without the ads, and includes the hands being exposed at the end? And could we replay the hand?
    3) Please do something about the Black Jack ad. It is bad enough that it last 60 seconds: you can’t close it after you have viewed it. There is no little “x” in a corner to close it. I get it out of it by exiting the game, and then deleting the screen and then I go back into the app. PLEASE AT LEAST FIX THIS!!

    Although the bidding is a little strange at times, I would give this 5 stars if we could get rid of the ads, see all the hands at the end, AND be able to replay the hand.

    Thanks!

  • Seems fun

    The app seems like it could be fun. Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with the game game Bridge. It would be helpful if there was a tutorial or instructions for newbies like myself who aren't the best players. I gave it 4 stars because I think once I get a hang of the game the app will be a lot of fun.
