Leave a Review Norton 360 Security & VPN
Useless!
I have been using this for years, and increasingly, it’s just not compatible with my phone. It’s gotten so bad that Apple support has repeatedly told me uninstall it and get rid of it. It doesn’t allow updating, even if you have the VPN turned off- it uses a non-concealing filter VPN as its threat detection mechanism, and Apple doesn’t want to work with it. It also doesn’t allow me to use the concealing VPN feature at all now if I’m on cellular data, for the past about 2 years. The identity theft/dark web protection app is useless, and really wants you to upgrade to an expensive service (which is likely still ineffective, if you do your tech research on dark web protection programs and companies that offer said services). Bonus- some of the private data selling companies that you’re suggested by Norton to opt out of demand you to send them a copy of your drivers license and more intimate identifiers just to supposedly opt out of being tracked for a month to few months!
Norton support is as always outsourced, clueless, and near useless to contact with tech issues or complaints. Their support is infamous.
I’m uninstalling it all.Show lessDeveloper Response
Hello, we are very sorry to hear about your inconvenience. Our app certainly offers update frequently (with or without VPN). Why would Apple not want to cooperate with our app? Could you please be more specific? We would certainly need further information regarding your issues to be able to help. DavidDidn’t find or remove malware on my devices
I’ve had Norton 360 for years. I recently bought a new laptop and installed the program. I did several scans after I installed the program and Norton assured me It didn’t detect any malware. I kept getting redirected on the internet and finally took the new laptop in to my local tech shop. They found malware and bogus certificates on the computer that Norton said was fine. While my computer was in the shop, Norton charged me for my annual renewal. I was unable to cancel because I wasn’t using the internet. When I was finally able to call about the issue, I asked why their program didn’t find the malware and phony Microsoft certificates. The tech person said that you need to call them so they can help you set it up on a new laptop for the first time. They should include this information when you purchase the program but don’t. I asked for a refund since I’ve had to pay hundreds of dollars to get malware removed from my devices Norton was “protecting.” I’m still using it on some of my devices since they wouldn't give me a refund but I no longer trust Norton to detect anything since it completely failed to protect my laptop and home WiFi from malware and phony certificates.Show lessDeveloper Response
Hi, sorry to read of your inconvenience, but this space is for reviewing the Norton 360 - the application for iOS devices, so we are not able to comment on any issue within the PC version. If you need any assistance with the PC Norton, please submit a request directly to my colleagues. Find further details on norton.com. DavidAd Version Downloading Automatically
The App Store has two versions of this app: one app states “Ads” and the other does not. Of course I do not want the ad version and do not want to be tracked so I never select the version that states “Ads”; however, anytime I download the app version that does not state “Ads” the download progress circle shows both versions being downloaded, while only one app shows on my iPhone. When I look at the device privacy report I see that Norton has contacted all of these various domains regarding my app activity. That is in direct conflict with what I want and with what privacy information Norton provides.
I also have a subscription with Avast and had a trial subscription with Surfshark and Bitdefender. All of these companies are doing the same thing; downloading the Ad version of the app along with the non add version. So, I am not using any of them, including the two that I have paid for (Norton and Avast)
If you can fix this issue please do so. I know Norton is a great product but I’ve been dealing with a cyber stalker for 15 months and do not want any app tracking my activityShow lessDeveloper Response
