  • UI is so slow at startup.

    I hate the newer UI. I preferred the old one with the dials. It looked nicer.

    Even worse, the app is so slow to start up. I have 5 sensors connected and I try to check them once a week. When I launch the app, more than a full minute will pass before the UI is responsive at all—and sometimes it is much longer than that. It is the app I use the most that I dread using because it is so annoying.

  • Very confused

    Device has been working fine for the past 2 months but now it is no longer updating to my primary device. I connect it via Bluetooth to a secondary device so I can get readings whenever I’m not home. Has been working great. I woke up yesterday and checked my primary device and it no longer had any hourly updates. I deleted the app 3 times and re downloaded it. I even logged out a couple of times and it still will not update. Although readings on my secondary device are still showing (I also turned of Bluetooth on this one) it’s not where I’m needing to get readings from. I was just going to buy another but the product is discontinued so I emailed the company. I don’t think I was speaking with a human because I clearly explained what was going on and what I did in specific detail. We have gone back and forth 3 times. I’m just going to shop elsewhere because this problem isn’t efficient enough for me to keep playing cat and mouse with the company.

  • Notifications don’t work.

    I use 2 of these sensors, and its a complete disappointment. It never gives me notifications until i open the app. At which point i sometimes get bombarded with notifications but they are all dated and timed at the time i opened the app. Also it takes a while pending when you last checked the app for the actual humidity and temperature is, so you'll see the numbers i flux for anywhere from 10 seconds to a few minutes. This app and device definitely needs a lot of seasoning (pun intended).

    With the two sensors i have, i changed them with the same battery at the same time and there is already a big difference i battery use between the two. One is at 90% and the other 60%. Which is odd since i check them the exact same amount via the app. Another let down with Boveda “quality”

    Hi, I am sorry to hear you are disappointed with the app. Since the notifications that the Boveda apps sends are based on humidity and temperature data from your Butler, if you are not running the app in the background, you will not be syncing new measurements until you open the app again. We do have the ability in the app to change how frequently you receive notifications, so for example you can change this so that you will only be notified once every day if you would like.   • Works but could be so much better with a few tweaks

    I am a huge bodeda 65 & 69% for my cigars for years now. Hygrometer are my thing to ensure my cigars are at the right RH. Boveda butler came at a good time with a nice design, affordable price and a cool app. The app can use some work; they don’t let you change the order (I have 6), I would be great if I could ready them on the order i want. Also the app keeps crashing. If I leave the app running in the back, after an hour or so, when I reopen it, it crashes. Also weird, that it doesn’t update while running in the back ground.

    I am sure this will be resolved eventually. Thank you team Boveda

  • Not as good as before

    I’ve had the Boveda butler for a few years. I now own three for my cigar humidors. That app worked with few flaws previously. Since the last update the readings are not in real time. The display has changed from the classic hygrometer dial reading to a more modern design. The biggest problem is the lack of a real time updates and seems to be inaccurate. When I open the app I want to see real time readings and o am not getting that and I did before this last updat. Please Boveda fix this and go back to the prior hygrometer style display.

  • Push Notifications Do Not Work

    Despite the fact that I have turned on both high and low humidity alerts, the app does not notify me of either, defeating the purpose of the device. I found that my humidor has been frequently above the set high humidity limit but the app does not alert me unless I check manually. Add to that the fact get there is a persistent button that you cannot dismiss which prompts you to order Boveda packs and this app, as well as the device it accompanies, is a fail.

  • Great Device

    Wasn’t sure if the device would be worth it but after reading the reviews I had to give it a try. It took a few days after calibration to get a consistent reading, but I gave it a couple days and it’s worked flawlessly for a month. Couldn’t be happier with this little device and app.
  • Useful app, ugly redesign

    Like many others, I’m not impressed with the redesign. It looks clunky and outdated now with all the sharp corners and squares. I have an older version with the round graphics on my phone still and it looks so much nicer. It could be my imagination but it seems to take longer for the app to open and connect to the Butlers in the current version. I still like being able to check on my boxes from anywhere and without opening them but the current version of this app feels like being zapped back to the days of Windows95 or something.

  • Wonderful Product... But☝🏻

    This is a wonderful product. Super easy setup, super easy calibration, takes up little room in the humidor. Appears at time of writing to be reliable and accurate. App works well...

    However, just two functions I’d like to see...
    1/ Temperature needs to have decimal places. Is it 21 degrees? Or is it 20.5 or 21.5??? Reads 22 degrees??? Is it 21.6???
    2/ I would really like to see the device made as a wifi unit rather then Bluetooth. Having said that I know literally nothing about the engineering behind that 🤷🏼‍♂️ But would like to be able to check globally and if the horror ever happens, be able to track the box if it gets stolen.

  • Bring back the graph

    Why did you take away the circular graph with my high and low water marks? In my opinion you made it harder for me. I use the beads or I guess you guys call at the Butler that I have to dip in distilled waterAnd you made it harder. Before I could look at that graph and I knew exactly when I had to dip the beads in the water it was a no brainer. If you don’t put the graph back I will more than likely stop using my humidor and just go to dark airtight jars and just buy the Boveda packs. You guys ruined this thing.
