  • Dark, Creepy, and Beautiful!

This Big Fish game has exquisitely animated cut scenes—honestly, the best I’ve ever seen. The world is immersive, although I don’t understand the backstory (which I guess references another game). However, the puzzles are fun and mostly easy, with challenging hidden-object puzzles and object-gathering tasks that are well integrated into the story. This one is a winner!
  • Tired theme

I really wanted to like this game. I do want to explore a small town in Scotland with a dark secret! But this is not that. It’s the same old tired horror scenery that could have been taken from 90% of other casual games. I loved the original Ravenhearst games, the Enigmatis series, and the older MCF games and got completely sucked into the plots. Part of the engaging magic of those games is that you’re exploring an environment that’s otherwise normal, and the spooky elements then become that much more affecting. If the whole game is just stereotypical horror imagery, it completely ruins the suspension of disbelief. In this game, there is no explanation for who built these creepy vast environments or why, or how it furthers the villain’s nefarious goals to have the creepiest fantasy-horror lair possible. In summary, amping up the horror imagery may appeal to 14 year old goth kids, but it does not make for a high quality game. This is just a carbon copy of the many other horror/mystery casual games out there.
  • Spectacular artwork

This game was beautifully rendered with challenging game play. I particularly liked how you integrated stills with animation. I look forward to future games.
  • Loved it!

Great game. Challenging but not so hard I had to skip any puzzles. So much fun and visually stunning. Keep up the good work. I can’t wait for the next game 👍
  • Well alright then!

Really enjoyed this story line. Although it is a dark story which can creep one out, it was well done and had a surprise that I would not have expected. If you’ve played any or all of the previous MCF games I think you’ll be unexpectedly wowed. Great graphics but for (once again) extremely difficult to find items in the dark shadow(y) screen. Mini games 👍, HO’s ok.
  • Not my favorite MCF game, but worth a play!

I’ve been a big fan of Big Fish’s Mystery Case Files games for years...Dire Grove, Ravenhearst, 13th Skull to name a few...and was excited to try this one. Great graphics and voice acting, but found myself skipping puzzles and using the Hint button because I was at a loss far too many times for my liking. Interesting concept for sure, but the ending was a bit abrupt and didn’t wrap up a the story as I would have hoped. Definitely worth a play, but not my favorite of the series. Also, not sure what happened to the back log of the other MCF games in this series?! Would love to go back and play Dire Grove but it’s no longer in the App Store??
  • Excellent!

FINALLY, Eipix gives us a great MCF game! I LOVE the super puzzles, and this one has 4! Just really well done game, unique puzzles and hops, spooky creepy story, great visuals. All the usual Eipix bells and whistles, but this time they went above and beyond in creating a unique, disturbing, and poetic storyline. Good length, and replay value for me, bc I will definitely want to play this again in oh six months or so. THANK YOU EIPIX!!
  • Black Veil

It was OK, I got a little excited at the end when I saw some of the old Ravenhearst scenery and the house. I really like the old Ravenhearst games. Return to Ravenhearst, Dire Grove, Ravenhearst. I wish Big Fish, Mystery Case Files would upgrade the old Ravenshearst games to the latest IOS because I can no longer play those games.
  • Confusing

Puzzles were either easy or terribly confusing. The ending seemed abrupt at best. Also, did I miss a bonus game? As for extras, sure didn’t see any. The game play was not that enjoyable, and I felt as if I was just sticking it out til the end. I’ve played lots better games.
  • Overly repetitive!

This game has brought me down in more ways than one. First off, the way you progress throughout the game is virtually the same and the mini games that allow you to progress were clearly not thought out. Second, the story was quite lame because it was not well thought out. Third, that kid kept reminding me of that kid in the rain jacket from the movie IT.
    REVOLTING!
