Solid training for AWS for beginners and Pros

My AWS knowledge was a bit dated - haven’t worked hands on since 2014. A Cloud Guru turned out to be a great way to quickly update my knowledge gaps without wasting a bunch of time. Dense, quality content... playback speed controls make it easy to pace the content and replay key areas. Only wish the platform was better at remembering current spot across devices— easily fixed by looking for the green checkmarks.

Great app, use it as a constant source of knowledge.

I´ve been using this app for around 3 months now, there’s new content every week and you can download entire courses to watch them offline.

The thing might need to be added ASAP is to have the option to use the exam simulator within the app to practice.

Video auto play weirdy!?

iPad user here, the content is quite good, although Ryan really should edit out the bloopers like when he incorrectly states something that contradicts what the UI has on screen in front of him, for example S3 bucket policies needing a / then a key, he says it’s missing on the AWS side, which ain’t right, he copies insufficient detail in the ARN (without /* in this example)…

But my biggest annoyance is that the app just ploughs on playing videos regardless of quitting the app, or even closing the iPad with the magnetic cover… it’s a pain because I’m then not sure where I was up to, so have to go back and mess around, the video should stop playing when the app goes into the background, or at least minimise using the standard iOS mechanism…

Still great after 2.5 months

I’ve been using the app over 11 weeks and it’s been great. I can download the video to my iPhone to watch in areas where I don’t have service. I’ve been studying for the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Exam and a cloud guru has great videos and memorable tips to retain information.

One feature I noticed is that the progress from watching a downloaded app isn’t updated to reflect on the web platform so even though I have hours of watched videos I need to play them on my PC browser for the course completion % to reflect this.

Overall, great work devs for this app!

Absolutely Amazing Experience

This app not only delivers excellent value for money training tutorials but all of the courses are also clear and to the point.

The app and the site are designed to a very high standard. I just wish all websites were designed and built like this.

App and website gets unresponsive sometimes

I am on really good internet connection both at home and at workplace but about 40% of the time I find issues with both app and website. App loads fine at first, then I click on course and that’s it, I can’t click on anything after that. I tried killing the app but that doesn’t help. Same with website, it keeps showing progress bar but nothing loads up for minutes. Not sure what’s the cause. Sometimes it just works great.

Great resource for Cloud learning

Acloud guru is one of the very best cloud learning portal and the app is great. I can listen to it while on the go and it keeps track of where left off and continue from there when I get back into the app again

I noticed they update the course as new features arrives or when the exam topics are updated Great job!!
Keep up the good work acloud guru!!

Very good, can recommend

It’s a good platform to get an overview of the services or the whole cloud platform you don’t work with at work, but that might be useful in the future.

The only reason for 4 stars: On iPad the videos take 5-7 seconds to start, as if it’s converting and buffering that much.

Just enough functionality, simple, easy to navigate and use

Nice simple - clean UI - that doesn’t do too much or get in you way. Gets straight to the point and is a great way to access the content with ease.

Excellent - to the point content that can be downloaded and used off-line.

Great app!
