  • Solo camera

I have tried everything it will not connect
    Not happy
  • Awful. Opt for Arlo instead

These cameras are just horrible. An event gets triggered, you open your app, it sits there loading for 30s and then just fails once it eventually finishes. Then, for the next 10-15 mins you can’t use it.

The only time it works is when you casually tune in to see through the cameras lens. But when there’s actually someone in front of it, it fails. Useless.

  • Finally, a security system that works as described!

A wonderful wi-fi security offering from Uniden. Works as described. Very few false alarms. I’ve purchased three, all used outdoors. Two have the Uniden solar panel connected and as expected, are always fully (100%) charged. The other is running off battery and after some two months of use, still has 70% charge left. Uniden Solo app (iPhone) is easy and intuitive to use.

    Highly recommend!

  • Not so useful

It records when it detects movement, but on this setting, the batteries do not last anything like 180 days, more like 20-30 days. Batteries are expensive - about US$10 each in a hardware store, and it takes 4 - unless you order them in bulk online, and those are low quality and give even less time. It does not notify when movement is detected, so if you are away for a while, you only get the pictures when you return. You have to take the card out to get them, it is time consuming and fiddly. Better then nothing, but it does not come close to what is advertised.

  • Average

I would give a better rating if this app could notify me when my cameras detect movement. The fact it does not means I need to record daily when I’m absent from home when I would prefer to only record once I’m notified it has spotted a person entering my property.
If you could work on that I would recommend this product to others for purchase. Considering I paid quite a lot for this product, something as simple as a notification would benefit purchasers tremendously.
If you could work towards making this suggestion an addition, would be a MASSIVE improvement.. thanks

  • Battery issue

The cameras are great and easy to set up. However the batteries last only a month or so even when running on the lowest level of usage. Meant to last 6 months but don’t last anything near that. Have had 4 cameras 6 months now and replaced all batteries 3 times! Plus the batteries are expensive ($40 dollars a camera). They need to improve the software so it doesn’t drain the battery as much. Good offering otherwise.

  • Solid offering

After a little bit of mucking around, which was caused by my sub par non-NBN broadband, I have got this working pretty much flawlessly with my mobile hotspot (which I had purchased for another purpose entirely, but fits the bill here!). I now have three of these cameras covering the front of my property, all working nicely.

When it says it needs a minimum of 1mbps upload speed, that is precisely what it means. Don’t bother if you don’t already have an appropriate upload speed, or are due to receive NBN soon, as it simply won’t work as well as it can, through no fault of the system.

Of course, upload speed is only relevant if you are trying to view video remotely. If you are simply looking for something to record events so that you can remove the memory card to look at it on a computer, then this will do nicely.

I’m due to get NBN this month (June 2018), so I’m sure this little system will come into its own!

The microphones on the cameras pick up sound very well, and the PIR system works adequately, although the range is a little shorter than I’d like ... but that’s what you get from a battery powered camera! It’s a trade off between drilling holes in your waves and running wires through your roof, and having a little less grunt. It’s a good way to get into home security and a good way to figure out where to place your cameras before taking the plunge and going for a hard core system.
