Hate when app updates make things worse; “Pro” version too expensive
This used to be a decent app for me. I liked how I could lock the phone while it was charging and the alarm would sound right when it should and stop when it should. Then, in a sneak “update”, the formerly free background feature was removed and replaced with a message to buy the Pro version if you want it back. Would liked to be told that was going to happen before removing a feature I already had. Further, the app stupidly sounds the alarm now even when not charging, after the alarm had stopped, just by unlocking your phone with the battery at the alarm level. It never used to do this. Note to developers: an update should always be better than a previous version. Also, regarding the Pro version: $3 is too much for a useful little feature that only does one little thing, especially when it’s likely that the Pro version will have the same bug discussed above. If I were a developer, I would be thinking that zillions of people paying $0.30 or $0.75, making it a no-brainer, instead of a much smaller number of people paying $3, would be the way to go.Joaoaoao

Thank you for bringing back background mode. That is the only way I have been using the app (apart from the previous two versions where I had to keep the app open just to hear the alarm, which was counterintuitive since the percent is already displayed and in large font at that) and I'm sure the same is true for many if not most users. I still think it would be nice to have a (simultaneous) dual alarm mode with both maximum and minimum alarms (e.g., max = 80% and min = 40%). This would eliminate the need to toggle the direction and readjust the percentage. I know this is included in the pro version but this should be part of the free one too; I'm not willing to shell out US$3 for such a basic feature. Maybe pro could have extra/customizable alarm tones and other special features that justify the price. Additionally, in both free and pro, it would help to automatically disable the alarm when either the cable is removed or the minimum percentage has been exceeded. Thanks, again.

Well, this is weird and frustrating. I had just updated Battery Alarm to the latest version and background mode was actually back WHILE charging and, belive it or not, I got an alarm when the set percentage was reached. So, thrilled that the dev considered my and others' reviews and decided to bring back background mode, which had been a standard part of the app, I completely rewrote my review and gave a 4-star rating. BUT after I left the App Store, readjusted the alarm percentage (since it had increased), and went back to my activities, I eagerly awaited the alarm to sound as it had just a few moments earlier (UNDER the latest version, remember). No dice. Somehow, background mode was disabled again even though when I had opened the app, background mode was toggled ON, by default. I am perplexed and more than a bit annoyed at these crippleware tactics. What's next?ZotDudot7

This is a great app, I have been using it for a few months and it helps to know when your battery charging is correct. Research has shown this can extend your battery life, and this app does just that. I like this application over another one because of the alarm sounds available for this one.
