For those who love to escape

Yeah it might sound cliche, but this “app” really helps me escape the stress and business of everyday life. I mean, just the story alone is enough to get you hooked, and even if it doesn’t (which is very unlikely) the first two chapters are free.

There is literally no fourth wall when it comes to the story, meaning if you have an active imagination like I do, you will be encapsulated. Almost like a good dream that you don’t want to wake up from. The “book” interacts with you in ways that a physical book cannot. You’ll have to turn your phone, shake your phone, and even at one point walk a bit.

Even the text responds to your reading. For example if you were to read the word “jump” the text would literally seem to jump on the page. I do recommend you read this with headphones as there are some audio cues and the app seems to use your microphone as a way to determine your reading speed. This will make sure that the little cues happen right when you read them. And I do suggest reading the story out loud, which makes it more immersive.

Overall, I don’t mind paying $4.99 at all for this app. Beautifully done, and one of my favorite parts of the day. Hands down one of the best stories I have ever read (and been a part of). 200/5

Pay to unlock full version

Cool idea. Sneaky way to try and get money from people though.
No one kicks you out of a movie theatre halfway through and demands another payment. Advertise in the description that the full version requires payment - otherwise it cheapens the entire experience and feels as manipulative as other apps when they ask for you to purchase In game money.
Would’ve probably paid if it were upfront.

Response from developer

Hi there. First of all — It is mentioned on the app store page in different ways. Second — instead of movie theatre, our game doesn't charge you for the entry ticket. Please consider this.

Great storyline, slight issue.

Hi, so I already paid for the game because it was compelling but then i was asked to pay for it again, so i don’t know what is happening, is it a glitch ??

Response from developer

Hi I. Sorry for that, you just need to choose "restore purchase". Then it would pass you through without any further charges

Impressed

This is quite different from anything I’ve seen before and I was pleasantly surprised with the concept to add the reader to the story. I’m giving 5 start to the app because it’s quite remarkable and innovative, but I wouldn’t categorize as a game. A game would prevent you from moving forward if you are incapable to give the right answer. It would prevent you to move forward if the time ran out. Nonetheless, I was so drawn to the story, the interactions and the sounds that I forgot time for a short while. Favorably, My advise is to create challenges to the reader. Maybe create difficulty levels, where the reader can choose how he would play and read the book. I thought the story was interesting, but I believe it would’ve been better if it was a bit more realistic. Maybe a suspense story, resolve a mystery or murder case. The possibilities are endless.
Further more,I also have to disagree with the tittle. The game only gives the illusion of control to the reader, because the end it’s already set. It would be nice to have a game where every choice you made had a different consequence to the end of the story... Not every ending would the same and the reader would have a more personalized experience... maybe someday, We’ll get to play such a game. For now, let me just say... this story rocks!!! Worth $5 dollars and some... thanks again. Keep the stories coming!

Hello L. Thank you for your review and for your time❤️. I am glad you liked it. I totally agree, that this is not actually a game. I also have some problems with categorizing it. I prefer calling it "experience". But still — games is the closes category available on the App Store. Talking about title — you mean "quest powered by your mind"? Interesting.

I found the story a bit interesting but there was a puzzle in chapter one that wanted me to go use something on my device to solve it. Either I don’t have that on my iPad or I deleted it when I deleted a lot of the preloaded things to make room for things that I did want on my device. So that puzzle was a little difficult. The one thing that I don’t like, which is a pet peeve of mine, is being forced to hold my device upside down. I always hold the screen with the home button on the bottom, this app forces it to be at the top of the screen. I don’t care if I have to use portrait or landscape for games, but I only play portrait games with the home on bottom or on the right hand side, then I can use my cover as a stand. Thanks for your time, I really appreciate that I was able to try before buying, I prefer apps being sold that way, wish more games let you try before paying one price to unlock everything.

Great but

I loved this. The story is so immersive and I already developed a love/hate relationship with Michael after he called me a bastard and continued to stress me as I struggled to find Southeast (I have my compass disabled to save storage) and I was so ready to continue my journey further into the book.
However, as a student who can’t exactly get a job due to complications, I have no money and cannot pay the $5 to continued reading, myself. It’s a pretty cheap fee to continue, and I’m not /too/ angry about it, but I am disappointed that I myself cannot continue reading unless I scrounge up a five from underneath a couch cushion or something of the like.
I wish the developer well in this and any further apps like this one; really really great! Hopefully I will be able to continue the story someday as much as I am upset that I can’t anytime soon.

A New Era of Reading

Halfway through Chapter 3 and I couldn’t wait to write about it. I’ll address the biggest thing people are talking about which is the money. I have no problem with it in this case. 1) The dev (as stated in other responses) clearly wants people to see the game and its potential as you get 2 chapters to grasp what this app is accomplishing. 2) It (most likely) took a massive amount of time and resources to make such an app. Sure, turning a profit is always a goal, but by having everyone chip in a bit the dev can make this app that much better. 3) Introduction. Sure the dev could’ve made the game where you had to buy to play, but that contradicts with reason 1. Introducing the payment into the story was a genius move. It proves the dev isn’t making this for the money, they are just asking for a helping hand. Now, this app, I believe, is a great step in the direction reading can go. With all the new technological discoveries humanity is making, immersion into fictional worlds is one of the biggest advancements yet. This app sums up very nicely exactly how we will see reading and everything around us slowly change and evolve. I can’t wait to finish this journey and I hope to see even greater stories to be told this way. Keep up the good work!

Hello K. Thank you for such a high evaluation and for your supporting, helping hand🤝. I appreciate that. Me and my teammates also hope this would give some trend in reading.

Interesting idea

I was intrigued to check this out from reading the reviews.
I had some issues early on with not being able to turn the pages.
Yes, I realized at certain points you must do things before you can turn the page, but even on the pages where you didn’t have to do anything, I had trouble turning pages. I even tried different areas on the screen.
As I got closer to the end of the second chapter, the pages started turning more easily.
When it told me $5 to continue on to read 4 more chapters, I felt they are asking for too much.
I could purchase a whole real book for that much, maybe even 2.
I also don’t like the developer responses I was reading. They are very defensive and some almost childlike responses.
Whomever is posting the responses may want think about being a little more professional and accepting of constructive criticism rather than telling people they think they should give them a higher rating.
I think it’s a good idea but the storyline just isn’t that great.
I can not justify spending $5 for only 4 more chapters when the first 2 only took me 10 minutes to get through. (And that includes the difficult pages that it wouldn’t let me turn the page)
Maybe if you reduce the price and fix the bugs, I will think about returning to finish the story.

Pure Genius

I just have to say, I love to read but can become easily distracted while reading which can make it difficult to finish a book. That was not the case with maginary, the interactive elements as well as the sheer beauty of this app kept me engaged and reading without any difficulty. I am really hoping to see more apps like this in the future, more books created rather than just written.

A word for anyone that complains about the price. STOP BEING SO CHEAP! Seriously people are so cheap when it comes to apps. Do you people realize the amount of work and effort that goes into making a masterpiece like this? It's a lot of work and the Developers deserve to be paid for their work. $5 that's about as much as most people pay for a coffee or something else you can live without for one day. I understand not wanting to pay for an app that not the greatest, but this is incredible. It's design is gorgeous and the execution was masterful.

I want to thank the Developers for the ingenious way of asking the user to pay for the rest of the book. I'm so glad you could download the first part to see if it's for you and then decide later if you want the full version. I like this modal. It allows me to test an app before purchasing. Thanks I hope to see more in the future.

Hello B. Thank you so much for your good words and your high evaluation. This means a lot, I appreciate that. I am happy you enjoyed our creation. And thank you for your understanding about the purchase process.

I Don’t See A Problem With It!

I like story games but I Don’t like ones that’s ask you for money to play especially bad ones that are not even good, but this game is beautiful This is the first time I've seen a story game that is actually fun and the developers put their hearts into making it so the readers/players can actually enjoy it and use their imagination but like all story games you must pay to read, like I said before I like story games but I don’t like ones that ask for money to play especially bad ones but this one is different because this is the first story game that actually makes me want to pay to read it, it’s so interesting that you can’t help but want to pay for it,But what I hate more than a bad story game is a Review saying bad things to a good game “i refuse to fall for this money gimmick trap” so what you have to pay to read it, it does not even cost that much it’s not like they are asking you to pay $100 to read I mean they are people to if they made the whole game free then the only thing they would get are the people’s joy it’s like having a job that gives you candy instead of money you should be happy they made a wonderful game like this only $4.99 if you where the one doing it I bet you would have made the price higher (I would have) so to be honest
. I Don't See A Problem With It! (Btw I love the way you cleverly lowered the prices 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽)
