It’s functional at best
When it works properly it serves a purpose and can be useful for making parents and teachers lives easier so I credit the makers for that. However it could and should be so much better. The UI is awful and looks like they got one of the schools to design it. The UX is also poor and daily use can be clunky. Sone of the limitations to things like word count and a lack of emoji support re-enforce the feeling that this app looks like it was made when the iPhone 3 came out.
Hopefully they will listen to all the feedback and make improvements for future schools to come.

Works, but small issues
iOS app shows notifications and you have to read them twice (close and open the app twice) before the notification bubble disappears. Been like this for months. Don’t understand why no one has fixed this, as it must be annoying thousands of people every day.
Otherwise ok, does mean the school has to set things up properly, which they never do. Mine is still showing term dates from two years ago.

Helpful but needs improvement
A great idea in theory but has a few kinks that need straightening out! I haven’t been receiving some of the messages and as there are now no text alerts I have missed out on some important info, further to this I don’t always get notifications or when I do I have a constant red icon on the app indicating that I have a new message - which I don’t and nothing seems to clear it.
I’ve tried updating, deleting and downloading again, scrolling up/down, tapping the message, turning the phone on and off yet nothing works so I constantly have to check my phone to see if there is in fact a message.
If these bits could be sorted it’d be so much easier to use.

Really disappointing
I was excited about this app until it caused me a lot of anxiety! The school send hyperlinks in their messages regularly and they never work & you can’t copy them - try typing in or searching the school’s site when you have screaming children around you while completing 10 other tasks - of which the message I’m trying to retrieve will be adding to my hectic schedule! An update fixed it, but it’s not long before it stops working again - usually when it’s important to read what is being sent. It’s slow to load and frustrating to use & always shows a message as unread on the home screen which really irritates me! Sadly it feels like little thought went into the design, the lay out and menu make little sense to me. Such a shame as it could be very useful to my life!

Not recommended.
Basically as all other reviewers have said, it’s pointless. You miss notifications and often I find none come through for example i got a notification from apple that a message was received (which was correct) but when I go into the application it’s not there. Overall the old system of text msgs is far more reliable. Just don’t use this as you will miss messages. It’s also buggy, the red dot often appears when there is nothing to read or more likely there probably is something to read but it’s not showing in the app.

Terrible terrible app
Useless, absolutely terrible and pointless app. A definite zero stars! As like most of the reviews although i signed in once before using the relevant link from the school sent via text and then verifying myself/my phone., the app now tells me my number is not recognised regardless of whether i input “07” or “+44”..... so i can no longer access the one of only three options available in the app., whereas might i add only one option actually had info anyway, which again like many others have stated was the message icon which also comes through as a text message anyway!!! so its just a complete ludicrous concoction. Waste of time waste of memory oh and is under-designed horrible to look at and colour schemes are an eye-saw..

Doesn’t do the job
When we initially were got this App I thought it was a great idea, particularly as both my children attend different schools. For a while it did as it said it would. This saved me time checking separate emails for the two schools. However, I changed my phone but kept same number. From that point onwards this App refused to understand I was the same parent. I’ve asked for help but the problem persists. I get information for one school and not the other. I’ve tried getting rid of app and downloading again. Does not work. 🙁

Not impressed.
Haven’t used this app for long, and if I’m honest, I don’t like the concept. I preferred the old system of receiving a text from a dedicated school number. I don’t want to have to install an app for every business I wish to interact with.
So far as flaws are concerned, the biggest is that I am still receiving the texts. 🙄 I assume that this is due to the app failing to recognising that a mobile number that’s been recorded with the prefix ‘0’ and one that’s been recorded with the prefix ‘+44’ are one and the same. (I registered my number on the app as +447... I assume the school has registered it as 07...
The other is that the app doesn’t seem to send notifications to my phone when there’s a new message, which is just useless.
So basically, by introducing an app, you’ve just made what was a very good system into an annoying one, that doesn’t work and takes up space on my phone. As a governor, I get a very big say in what systems we as a school use - our parents are not currently getting the quality they deserve. My advice to you is to return to the single phone line system, until you have an app that works flawlessly, before you start losing customers.

Great app.
First I’d like to say thanks to the developer and I can see potential as it gets more widely known about.
We’re on version 1.7 so I guess this is a relatively new app. Me personally am only interested in the messages and timetables but the school my child goes to only use the message feature at this time but I guess they will explore other features later.
The only improvements I’d like to ask for at this moment is:
1, a message notification on the icon sat on the desktop to alert me of a new message. I have to open the app to check for new messages.
2, when you open up messages it goes straight to the bottom where the new messages are sat.

Not brilliant but it works!!!
I ended up having to download this app because I was fed up with receiving text messages off my children's school from soooo many different mobile numbers and other mums saying it was good.
My thoughts....yes you get all the messages in one place, but I find it sluggish and the number notification marker telling you there is a new message doesn't go away once you've opened the app and then go back out of it!!! When I do open the app, it seems to take an age to open!
It serves a purpose, but it could be snappier.
I even had trouble posting this review!!!
