Fun at the beginning but goes downhill eventually!
I hardly do reviews but I felt it was necessary to do one for this game. I was recommended this game from an acquaintance and decided to try it out. Graphically, it’s a beautiful game. I love the character design. The story is the best part to me though as I’ve enjoyed the replacer syndicate arc. Now onto the problems. The difficulty spikes on certain missions are out of hand and infuriating. My level 100 characters are being beat by level 80-90 characters quickly….that's ridiculous. The end game is so predatory and p2w that there’s no way i could recommend this to anyone that isn’t willing to spend hundreds of dollars in this game. Character pull rates are atrocious as well. Hopefully things will change and become better and more enjoyable (I doubt it) but if the game continues to stay the way it is now, I’ll definitely stop playing and tell all of my other friends to stop as well.Show lessKen Bankhead

I love this game so much. I’ve played it for 2+ years now and would say this is a top 3 gacha game. I’ve played so many games and this one really stuck with me. I love the story, characters, combat, all the different/diverse missions. Obtaining gear is the name of the game and is crucial to being successful. Obtaining gear isn’t easy but it’s not hard either. There is a good amount to be obtained but to roll the exact stats you want can be a little hard and like every other gacha you need to pray to the RNG gods. But all in all this game has a great community, seems like the devs have a passion for the game and listen to the community. They have a roadmap for future content which is nice to see what’s upcoming every month…Show lessSleppyySeb

Counterside is the best game i’ve came across on the app store. It’s also the only mobile game where I do not skip the storyline because it is actually interesting and entertaining. Everything about this game is so well done it is surprising that it is not dominating the charts yet. Amazing character designs (a bit of fanservice but we can just ignore that) and very well thought out logistics. Overall, highly recommend. After spending over $100, the fact that I needed to hit the pity system for C.C. and more than likely Kallen as well (done 10 pulls on that banner so far) get the collab characters is unreal. A measly 1% draw rate is just atrocious in this game.Cerceis

Not only am I slow to even get the awakened ssr’s but the banners just roll around and i nearly miss another because the garbage pity system is too high. When I do the ranked I then see the whales who have it early as well as merged players using units the rest don’t have. New ui is kind of annoying to navigate with the side stories because it looks like a maze. Also this constellation system is horrible and reminds me of genshin impact which is kinda making me want to uninstall the game. Also why do you give these awakened SSR selectors and let me choose a newer hero but not the one before it? YALL STAY AWAY!!!!! forgot to mention this but they also ruined the dives, before you could sweep them or they weren’t that long but the new system is garbage and you CANT SWEEP THE MAP ONES AND DIVES ARE NOW TOO LONG!!!!!!

This game was fun at first for a gatcha game. Unit designs were and still are pretty good. Strategy comes from building teams that can sustain long enough to get everyone on the field. Fun distraction generally. You will give up on the story which is told through endless text under character stills. Two stars directly from the last major update, now you can no longer level your units through pve stages only by spending in game currency, free recruitment events went from 10 free pulls to only five, the battle pass equivalent can only be activated with currency only available to purchase directly and costs about 15 American dollars of real money. Skip if you want a game you can complete content on, pick it up if you want a game you can collect units but don’t care about actual game play success.
Update: the game now doesn’t not generate in game currency properly. This game is broken and fading fast. Find a different one to play.Show lessSaintedbook

A huge problem that I have with a lot of games is pulling for characters is very expensive and hard unless you pour massive amounts of money in the game. This game gives large amounts of free pulls and rewards , yes there is a shop but it’s not really needed to spend money in this game to get good charaters. Overall the story itself is normal to good, keep in mind I have only been playing for a few days. Having said that I already have many SSR characters and have already pulled more than a hundred times. It’s really refreshing to experience a gacha that’s not super greedy. (Haven’t spent money)
In terms of gameplay it’s pretty simple, and straight forward. It’s not super satisfying but it’s not completely boring. Not super grindy as well, which is nice. Another thing I like, is the beginner’s choice banner, new players can chose any character in the whole game. So if you like a character or want a meta character it’s perfect.Show lesshadesandzeuscar
