After practicing yoga with Yoganotch app and its set of motion capture sensors for the whole year, (over 300 hours) I appreciated a unique combination of the simplicity and sophistication of this invention. Here is the simple part: you choose a class on the app, put on sensors on your body so that correctness of your asana form is monitored during the class and follow the video with instructor’s guidance. Except for the sensors, this is what all other online, Zoom and yoga apps offer to the yogis. And then comes the sophisticated side of Yoganotch, which makes it so unique and effective: during your practice, as you move from Asana to Asana you receive immediate audio feedback on your form (“straighten your back”, “lower right thigh” etc.) it pauses the class giving you time to correct, and if you did well, it will praise you by cheerful “improving!” Sophisticated bio mechanical analysis, AI, knowledge of yoga techniques packed inside the device result in mind-blowing precision of the feedback and reliable safety of practice in the absence of the human instructor in the same room with you. After one year of practicing with Yoganotch I achieved what I could not imagine be possible: regained strength, flexibility and balance that I had ten years ago, the desire to return to the mat day after day because following your own progress is highly motivating, and because it is fun! I am also very impressed with the high quality of the device: after one year of heavy use my sensors work flawlessly, battery life is good, and the straps are holding as strong as on day one. Like everybody else, I plan to return to my yoga studio when it is safe, but I will continue using Yoganotch, it’s certainly a keeper, for years to come!
