ACLS Instructor

This app is great for running simulations when teaching/conducting/evaluating my ACLS students during class. Whether they are intial ACLS or renewing, it is an extremely helpful tool. It was not the easiest app to run initially, but after learning through trial and error I was able to set up simulations that mirror those in the AHA ACLS training course. The instructors CPR button allows the underlying rhythm to be hidden during the 2 minute cycle to prevent the students from developing the "gaming" mindset of what rhythm may be at the ensuring 2 minute cycle check. This direclty lead to megacode scenarios becoming more realistic and smoother for a much improved training experience.

WONDERFUL APP!

Hello! So, I'd like to first start by saying, that this simulator is really nice. It's a patient monitor simulator unlike I've ever found, or ever will find on the IOS App Store! I'm going to tell you several things that I like about the simulator, and then I'm going to tell you some things that I would like to see improvement on to help with scenarios!

First of all the things I like about the simulator:

1: When the Patient's O2 Sat changes, It has pitch modulation, and so you hear that change on the QRS pulse tone. That's how 99.9% of the patient monitors you will see today are.
2: The defibrillator and the AED work in an accurate manner! When I put a patient into Asystole such as I did in the scenario I ran this morning, and the patient is only on the Pulse Oximeter and the Blood Pressure Monitoring, I pressed the AED button to activate the AED, and It recognized that the Pads were not connected. When I simulated in another scenario, a Bradycardia rhythm of 30 and the patient was only on the pulse oximeter, I wanted to see how the Pacer function reacted when I tried to activate it without the ECG monitor and pads. SURE ENOUGH, The monitor recognized that pacing could not be started!
3: I LOVE the 12 Lead ECG function, so that I could get a 12 Lead for the Learner that was in a scenario This morning. I got the 12 Lead showing ST Elevation, and confirming that there was in deed a Myocardial Infarction.
4: I LOVE that I can set the gradual deterioration of the vitals. So I simulated a patient who was presenting with difficulty breathing, and I simulated the Oxygen Saturation gradually deteriorating, and Didn't have to manually bring it down slowly! And as the Oxygen Saturation dropped, the learner recognized that there was a slow decrease in the SPO2 and Placed the patient onto Oxygen!
5: The CPR Artifact is accurate, and allows a simulation of CPR so that if a Rhythm Change happens during CPR, the learner is not going to see that until they cease compressions.
Now for a few things that I'd like to see Improvement on
1: We need an Agonal Rhythm! OK, So we have Rhythms like Ventricular Fibrillation, Ventricular Tachycardia, Pulseless Electrical Activity, and Asystole, but I wanted to simulate an Agonal Rhythm a few days ago during a resuscitation, and the Agonal Rhythm wasn't there. A lot of Medical simulators do not have this Rhythm. I've only seen two Medical simulators that have this rhythm. The Laerdal SimMan, SimMom, SimNewB, and SimBaby software, and the iSimulate REALITI Software.
2: The Blood Pressure Interval cannot be set to 30 Minutes, to simulate a patient who does not require that frequent of a Blood Pressure Check. I'd like to see the ability to set the Intervals as high as 30 minutes to maybe an Hour, but 30 Minutes would be just fine with me.
3: There's no Temperature Monitor. I noticed that in Medical Rescue Simulator PRO, there's no Temperature Option like in MRS Clinic. It would help if we had a Temperature monitor.
4: When I'm using the monitor without the remote, I like that there's a slider option, but I'd like to see up and down arrows for the patient parameters, so that it's easier to adjust the parameters more precisely than it is with a slider. I think the slider should remain there. DO NOT TAKE THE SLIDER! But, I'd like to see up and down arrows so that we can get those precise adjustments when necessary!
5: I want to see some sort of a realistic Blood Pressure when CPR is turned on. Right now, as it stands, when a patient goes into a rhythm such as Asystole, the Blood Pressure becomes ABSENT, as you would expect to see In a real scenario. BUT, if I start CPR, and I have the Arterial Waveform turned on, the ABP turned on, When I simulate Cardiac Arrest, and I simulate CPR by using the remote to turn on CPR, The blood pressure reads out as what you had it set on before the patient was in Cardiac Arrest. You're not going to see a blood Pressure such as 118/78 when You are performing CPR on someone! You're just not going to see that. You'll get a BETTER CPR with a device such as the LUCAS, and You'll possibly see a higher ETCO2, but You at least want the Diastolic Blood Pressure greater than 20. When I'm starting CPR on an Asystolic Patient, I want to see a more accurate ABP reading. That would be really nice!
6: The Non-Invasive Blood Pressure is somewhat too quick when it takes a measurement. In an actual scenario, it could take a few seconds longer than it does in the simulator. I'd like to see a little bit longer of a measurement period.
That is all that I see that needs improvement right now. I've been spending a lot using the simulator, and I really like it. Please keep updating the software, and I'll continue to use it!

Rescue Sim Pro

Bought this program and remote bundle on 4/13/2024. Having trouble figuring out the app and need to speak to someone concerning the application on new iPad. Emailed over a week ago with no response. I would appreciate it if someone from the company would contact me.

Good sim, lack of updates

Very good simulator but the lack of updates recently has put it down a star. Still good though!

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback. The next update will be this fall after the release of iOS 16.

Great cost effective solution

I have tried several competitor app's. One cheaper that has never been updated and keeps crashing and 3 more expensive ones. Yes the others have more bells and whistles but double the price then add a 0 at the end. This works great for ACLS, PALS or NRP. Been using it for few years. Can’t go wrong for the price. I wish there was a few upgrade able options and would be willing to pay extra for. But not the price the others charge.
