Very cool

A great iPad storyboarder that has everything I need for sketching a basic indie film storyboard. And no data harvesting! With gratitude.

I may be new, but there’s some red flags

OK so I recently downloaded this app and I’ve been noticing some things because you have to pay to do more stuff on the app and I feel like it’s very limited to the people who don’t want to pay

Second off when I tried to do another Storyboard, it didn’t let me draw, and I try to go out and do it again but I couldn’t draw and it was very frustrating and difficult. I almost wanted to delete the app.

And third when I was trying to do it, animation, it crashed, and I don’t like apps that crashed so that was kind of a red flag for me

And I read some reviews on the app, and I kind of sort at the rest
OK I give it a two out of five I was going to give it a one, but I wanted to be nice

And even though I just downloaded the app and I can’t really comment a lot of things on it, it’s pretty OK but I feel like there needs to be more updates and you shouldn’t have to pay for most of the features because that’s unfair to people who cry on the budget or don’t want to pay for stuff

And I really like animation it’s very fun for me. I like to animate off FlipaClip sometimes, but this app just needs more updates and like I feel like you need to start updating more of the apps so that more people could use it because I looked at the rate again it’s not really the best, so not trying to be rude or anything. There should be some things to fix

Paid for premium. Enjoying the app but slightly disappointed.

I never really rewrite reviews, but art is kind of my thing and I feel strongly enough to leave a review. I initially wanted to leave a four star because, as simplistic as it is, I really do feel like this app has potential. But for what it is, it keeps crashing every so often which is, for lack of a better word, frustrating to deal with. Luckily I haven’t lost any work. It’s also frustrating because this is an issue you wouldn’t learn of unless you pay for it. I didn’t mind since it was only about 4.99 or so. Maybe there should be a beta version of the app that’s open until a fully developed version releases, although it doesn’t feel like updates are being made at all. I’m working from 2021 entry level ipad with enough storage so pardon me if I sound rude, but for as long as this app has been on the play store, I don’t see how an issue like this wouldn’t have been resolved by now. In good news, I like the app because of how simplistic it is. I wish more layers could be implemented or that layers could be swapped around. I also think the ability to cut something from one layer to add it to another would be great. In all, my only issues are the constant crashes with no crash report and the archaic layers system.

Good but

It’s an easy to use app, really straightforward. I love that!
One thing that I would love to see is the ability to import a picture from my camera roll and be able to doodle over it.
I would save a lot of time because I can use stills from the treatment I presented my clients and just focus on the description part of the story board instead of still having to draw them out.
I hope this is an update you guys add in the near future because that would be a game changer

The only app like it

I just found this app and I’m truly shocked it’s the only one like it. I’m deeply thankful it exists, though it’s a bit buggy.

When I duplicate a frame while drawing, not all the line work gets moved over. Can’t exactly explain what’s happening but it’s a frustrating bug, I need to go back to the view of all my frames and manually copy and paste to duplicate.

Sometimes it crashes, which is no big deal, but not my favorite. Despite these things, still giving this app 4 stars because it provides the functionality I need

1) basic enough drawing tools
2) auto numbers frames
3) a place to type dialog and scene direction

Every other app is either a robust digital art tool that can’t handle text in an easy way, or a storyboard app that only allows weird stock models.

This is the only app like this for animators out there! Thank you so much and I’m so glad you’re still supporting it!

Crashes

On playback, it crashes. I’ve got 96 storyboard frames and it gives up playing back after about 35 frames. Not happy as it looked good app for my requirements so I paid for extra capacity of frames.

Export my project

I’ve changed ipads and i’m using the same account on apple store. How do i transfer my project from the old ipad to the new one?

Too many bugs

I have purchased full version of this software but there are few annoying bugs. The most important - export doesn’t work. I have about 86 panels in my storyboard and every time I try to export it in any format the program crashes and closes. I have tried to export in any format that is available and none of them work. After trying everything I could I have found a workaround - turning off a watermark in settings fixed export issues. 2. Duplicating the panel within the workspace works sporadically. Sometime it works, sometime it only duplicates couple of last strokes. 3.Duplicating a panel within the EDIT menu crashes and closes the program. 4. The most annoying bug is that sometimes everything you draw on one of the layers vanishes. One moment it’s there, you come out of the panel into the storyboard view and it’s gone. You have to draw it all again. 5. You can’t export a single panel. This is very inconvenient if you’re making any changes!
I emailed the developer but never heard from them. Changing to one star.

A few annoyances, but I still love it

Thank you for an affordable storyboard creator! Perfect drawing out a simple story. Having a few layers, a note area, and being able to include audio (to get timing right) is a big help as well. I found directions and videos, but doesn’t seem like you can make a selection on one frame, and then pasting it onto another. That would be helpful. I managed to white out a frame several times while trying, after drawing a selection around the whole frame. Confusing interface? The bug I’ve seen mentioned? I don’t know, but this tool is still really helpful.

Not good

It keeps deleting the drawing when I press undo, it erases the whole drawing and I can’t get it back
