5.6

June 7, 2024

This time, we rebuilt how live mode handles clashes between shots and pinned items, improved sunrise and sunset times for night shoots, and much more. IMPROVED LIVE MODE Now, if you have a shot that clashes with a pinned item (like lunch), our new feature splits the shot and shows you how much time you have before lunch and how much time you'll likely need to finish things afterward; it is also now possible to start a pinned item early. Once you start it, we'll reflow everything to match the new schedule, keeping your shoot day running smoothly. AUTOMATIC SUNRISE & SUNSET We'll automatically calculate the sunrise times if you give your shoot day a location. We'll automatically show the sunrise for the next morning for a night shoot. As part of those changes, we've also added support for locations without sunrise or sunset, just in case any of you have any upcoming shoots at the Arctic Circle.

Reviews of Shot Lister

  • Long time user & continue to be

Been using the app for years as I have a film production company and we create films nearly monthly. We tell everyone about the app. *sponsor us 😅* Now with the update, super excited and the app support has been so responsive! Look forward to more years with Shotlister.

    Developer Response

Great to hear you're loving the new Shot Lister 5. And we plan to continue to add new features based on our users' feedback. You can suggest new features and vote on others in the new site we set up just for this: shotlister.canny.io
  • I've had shot lister since it originally came out

and have been continuously subscribed. The app automatically updated and despite the fact that I've never cancelled my subscription, it keeps popping up a dialog box that tells me that I have to subscribe in order to create more than two projects.

I am subscribed. The new app doesn't seem to function any better than the old despite the new interface and it certainly doesn't have any compelling new features - it just lists three new features that are "coming soon."

I'm not happy about the apparent money grab here and will be using my own custom built app that costs way less than nearly $200/year.

Seriously, Capture One costs less than that and does way more than this app.

    Developer Response

Sorry to hear you're still having an issue. Please contact us at zach@shotlister.com and we're happy to help sort out your subscription issue and help you migrate your projects over to Shot Lister 5. The subscriptions still have the one month option and the one year at $99. And our new features in 5.0 include instant sync, unlimited custom categories, simultaneous Shoot Days, new Cast features, the ability to now draw Storyboards and more and we'd love for you to give you the opportunity to dive in and try them.
  • As a Photographer of Marketing Shoots - love it

I am trying out the new version of Shot Lister, but did want to place a review here as I used to use it a lot for organizing my marketing lifestyle shoots.

I will update it after trying the new version out more. You guys deserve some reviews!

I would love to see a simplified Photographer Version or "mode" -- as I don't do video/film and figuring out the lingo of film is sometimes a bit confusing. :) But this was the best storybaording for shooting app I could and have found (in an affordable range too).

    Developer Response

We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. And we plan on adding to the storyboard feature shortly, with the ability to add multiple images per shot. While Shot Lister is for film and video production, we have heard that photographers are using it as a way to organize their shoots.
