Yearly 2.5 bringeth these sundry refinements herein: - It fixeth the strange animation that enjoineth the closing of the detail screen - It enlargeneth the scriptures to include the italicized portions, yet so that they remain unitalicized, the view being too simple; and addeth many like such words besides that had been lacking, for in times past I wist not how I should use USX (Unified Scripture XML) - It doth shew more perfectly the Progress label in the Settings tray, so that there be no confusion in the midst of it

2020 is a leap year! That makes things complicated, and Yearly wasn't ready for that. Sorry for the buggy UI! Version 2.4 now plays ball much better with the combination of leap year and custom start dates. It also brings a new note-taking feature to each day’s reading, as well as an easier way to get to the reading for each day.

Description of Read the Bible in One Year

Yearly lets you systematically read your Bible in a year, with daily readings from both the Old Testament and the New Testament. It’s a simple app with one main screen, showing your reading for the current day as well as for previous and next days. You can read each day’s reading directly within the app, mark days as read, and take notes. Yearly also sends an optional notification every morning at 5:00 AM so you can know right from your lock screen what your reading is for the day. You can customize when this notification gets sent, and optionally have a badge on the app until the current day’s reading is complete. With a simple settings menu that you can access by sliding from the left edge of the screen, you can customize your schedule’s start day to begin any day of the year, not just January 1. You can also customize the app’s background color by swiping from right to left on the main screen.

Reviews of Read the Bible in One Year

  • Love love LOVE!

I love this app and I decided this year that I would finally start reading my bible and getting closer to God. So far, I’m fairly consistent with it and I’m proud to say that I’ve been reading my bible since my New Year’s resolution. I’ve shared this app with family and friends and raved about how easy it is to stay on track with the reading(s). My only request would be to add a function to go back to the last missed day without having to scroll up one at a time, otherwise this app would be perfect in my eyes. Thank you to the developers for creating a truly free app for this, it’s truly been a life changer for me.
  • Review

This app is really amazing! I do wish it had more options in terms of themes that you can set for the background, simply to make is more personal, but it is a really great resource. If you are someone who wants to read the Bible in chronological order this may not be for you, as it has you read from both the old and new testament at the same time. Personally, I like a mixture of both, so I love it!
  • Great App

This is helping me finally read through the Bible. I love being able to mark readings as completed.
I wish there was a way to get to the next unread reading quicker than scrolling all the way up. I miss days sometimes but want to continue where I left off.
