I believe this to be a company who wants to both provide for a customer as well as taking care of the independent contractors doing the leg work. They seem to be doing the best they can with what they have to offer but upon further communication via chats while on the job and feedback afterwards I have reason to think this can prove well for all involved. Be sure to read everything available before arriving to a job and expect to be thrown a curveball because there seems to be a disconnect between what is actually being requested and what the interface allows them to generate onto the job ask. But, I was pleased with the assurance of compensation even due to not being able to gain access to the subdivision where my subject was located. They even afforded me travel pay.

But the absolute worst thing that I’ve realized about this app is that your information IS NOT SECURE. When I first signed up, I checked out the profile details to make sure everything was accurate, and it was SOMEONE ELSE’S INFORMATION! Full name, street address, and social security number. Now I’m seeing other reviews that say the same.
This is clearly a glitch, and a very dangerous one. I’m so thankful that I didn’t put in my full SSN, but I’m worried about the information I did give. This is a TOTAL BREACH of sensitive customer information, and I don’t know who I need to reach out to, whether it be the App Store or the FCC or something, but I will be sounding the alarm. Do not sign up for this app!

My first assignment I struggled a little with the interface. Mainly operator error to be honest. But after I narrowly completed the assignment to which I had some challenges given the assignment task and the lack of experience doing this side of photography. I learned all I needed to become advanced at this line of work with in the first assignment. Follow through with the app guidance and you won’t fail. It’s very insightful and gives the information you need. The last thing that I would like to mention is regarding service request. It may take time for you to get a response but when you do the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They were able to handle my uploading issues and submit the assignment for me. It only takes a few days to receive payout. If you’re looking for something to do to make some extra money get this app.

Safe travels and happy earning!Today, I was able to snag, not 1 but 2 assignments, that happened to be within a fairly close proximity to one another. I ventured out to the OC from the LB. It was maybe a 20 minute drive to my first destination, where the property owner had just gotten home (I saw them walking from their vehicle as I mistakenly passed the property). I had already read through both assignments but of course, with this being my first, I felt the need to read through again.
I reversed my vehicle to the correct property next door and shifted gear into Park and proceeded to read the assignment again. Well, I’m getting to the knitty gritty of the assignment and the homeowner comes out to greet me. I froze at first, thinking, “what do I do?”, even after just reading exactly what to do. LOL. Nerves.
She smiles and asks if there is anything she could assist me with. I gave the sphill, we conversed for a brief moment about the situation and then she very willingly advised me I could do whatever I needed to to achieve my assignment goals. She informed the Mister. I snapped my pictures, did my questionnaire and was on my way within 15 minutes at most.
I like this. Fun times and you also get to possibly see new areas/neighborhoods.

I’ve been doing photo assignments on other platforms since the pandemic and have logged hundreds of miles to dozens of locations, usually very rural. Rural always has it’s challenges, from poor reception to incorrect GPS locations, and of course, fewer opportunities. I’ve done fewer assignments for ProxyPics than others, mostly because it offers very little in my area currently and the ones that do come up are typically claimed extremely quickly. However, it pays quite well so the few I can snag are usually worth it. My issue with Proxy Pics is that I have repeatedly been unable to contact support when I needed it. Whether it’s a question about an assignment, a request for time extension, or being in the right location but unable to take photos because the map is wrong in the app (not uncommon in rural areas) I’ve been left on read more times than I’ve gotten responses. Even in early days, other platforms had lags in response time, but there was ALWAYS a response. This has not been the case with Proxy Pics, which is sad because it’s quite a good platform otherwise. Fairly easy to use, very clear instructions, and again, good pay. But when you’re doing gig work, time is money, and apparently my time isn’t worth much to them. Give me a reason to change this review, ProxyPics- I’d love to do it.

Thank you!So far the jobs have been pretty straight forward and not hard to complete. The jobs have had detailed instructions and picture examples so that you know what they need and what is expected. Which makes the job that much go so much smoother. I am excited to do more jobs and hopefully they will go just as smoothly. The only issue I had was having 2 cops pull up to me in the parking lot while I was taking the a bunch of pictures of a bank at 1AM! I was worried because I felt like I was doing something wrong and being shady. But I definitely wasn’t I was just taking pictures as required. I was afraid for a min before the cop said he takes drone pictures so he understood what I was talking about! It would be nice to have a badge or authorization in the APP that could be shown for situations like that. That would have been helpful if the cop had not been so chill and know what I was talking about. Unless there is something like that and I didn’t realize it. Either way everything worked out ok and I finished the job and the cop went on his way! Look forward to more jobs in the future!

Edited review: This is a very nice app to have to make a few extra dollars here and there. I just happen to live in the middle of nowhere lol so I don’t see a whole lot of jobs. But in the short time I’ve had the app I’ve probably seen 4-5. I’ve accepted one job which was VERY easy to understand and did not take long to complete. And to top it off it goes off a radius that you put into the app. So you can travel as far, or as little as you like. The job I accepted was on my way home and made me an extra $22. Not bad in my opinion. They paid out VERY quickly unlike other apps who I’m still waiting on. Definitely keeping this app around.

Simple to use , easy assignments and a fair timeframe to complete .I can set up a route and complete in the 6 hours allowed and they are super-fast at reviewing and approval. The app is fairly new and , while they may be experiencing a few “ growing pains “, I have high hopes for these folks .Communication is good , payment is swift and fair for the work. I look forward to this company’s growth and hope to see more and more assignments in my area . I recommend to anyone who has even limited photography skills and a desire to add a little extra to your income . **** Since I started using ProxyPics, I have seen them grow substantially. The addition of real estate photography has been phenomenal! I often can complete several assignments in one day.
