The app is solid , quality photos with good locations. Only issue is you can’t use this to plan a photo vacation with this easily.
There’s no place for to type in a location & view all spots in that area.Mr. West Coast

Thanks for the feedback. We appreciate your input and that's why PIXEO is now a freemium app. The free version is ad supported and keeps a few capabilities for subscribers only, but the map and the locations can be searched, browsed and found for free.Does what it says: Shoot more, search less.
The app is constructed very nicely. It makes accessing locations nearby easy, using a nice map view, and has a category view where you can view places by type. I think this app, more than any other tool I’ve used, makes it easy to find good locations nearby to take pictures. The UI is also nicely designed.
Other reviews are a bit misleading and not even related to the app’s function (people using reviews for pre-sales questions etc.)
That said, some (minor) shortcomings of the app:
- Somewhat a shortage of locations in the UK. This is understandable, considering it’s a Canadian company. Still quite a few local locations nevertheless.

Well we are active. After launch we had some bumpy problems as is the case with any new app and to be frank we priced it a bit high. This coincided with a huge media interest that came with it some negativity that to be frank we weren’t ready for. We’ve suffered some bad reviews as a result. The app is free to try, its only $0.99 a month, $9.99 a year and my wife and I are doing the best we can to make a useful tool for photographers. At the moment we have about 200 active users and about 1200 who drop in and out (subscribe and unsubscribe (basically use it when they travel)). Most of our users are in Canada where I’ll note we currently have a higher rating (4.3/5). I hope you’ll give it a try and if you encounter any issues or have feedback, email me directly at Shawn.kent@pixeo.co I also hope you’ll reconsider giving us a higher than one star rating if you do. Even if it’s not what you expected 1 star is a bit much. I mean the app works and has over 10,000 locations around the world. We’re doing the best we can to make a useful tool that I wanted, as a photographer myself, and thankfully we have much better reviews in other countries than the UK.Not Quite There Yet
Fantastic concept but very little content. Being of limited budget I can't justify paying to gather content for somebody else. I will revisit in the future. I really hope something comes of this.lowbassguy

Thank you for your input. One of the challenges we face as developers is that the world is quite large. For a sustainable business model we have made the costs as low as practically possible at $0.99 a month and $9.99 a year. In addition the the images added by the users every day we also add about 100 locations a week. We have roughly 15,000 locations which is the most of any curated collection of its kind. But we also acknowledge we are early stages and a small startup. Please consider trying it again when you travel or are somewhere unfamiliar (which is why we have a monthly subscription) and we’re certain you will find it is well worth the dollar investment for your trip.No value for $2.99/mo
I got this app and a premium subscription. There are only the most obvious locations listed, and I'm in Los Angeles. Same in SF and the pacific coast. Dev said, oh, but soon there will be many! We hope you’ll give us another try in the future and you find the value of a dollar in it when you travel somewhere unfamiliar.Crap app
There is no password reset if you forget you password. Not very easy unsubscribe if you don’t remember password and can not reset it.Basledder

What a waste of time installing. Very few locations and endless zooming just to find the few that do exist. Avoid! Update: Btw, when you do find a photo at a location, that is all you get. No exact GPS data, no notes on how to find the location, no info on best time to shoot (eg sunrise or sunset) etc. Basically just a photo. You could just do a google search for images at a location and get the same content without the annoying repeated pitch zoomingShow lessgem_stone 123

We are glad to hear that you encountered no technical issues with the app. As for the size of the collection, we are confident you will not find one larger or better. But, the world is quite large and there will be some places that we haven't covered yet. For this reason, we offer a 30-day free trial and users can cancel anytime. We add locations constantly, and also work very hard to make it valuable for our contributing users as a promotional platform. We promote our contributing users on our social platforms to help them get exposure and while no user is under any obligation to add locations, we work very hard to make it valuable for them to do so. As a result we have many photographers around the globe adding locations and we personally add hundreds a month. We hope you will consider coming back to us in time or when you travel somewhwere new and we have no doubt you will find more locations in your area added by us and our amazing community of users.Paid account ONLY
