  • Boring puzzles, confusing story...

One of the puzzles was literally just typing in a word that was already on the paper. Seriously? Also the story was hard to follow as it involved several time periods and multiple people who weren’t featured except in passing, but were pretty important to the action. A lazy effort imo.
  • Awesome

I love it! Want more games exactly like it!
  • How old is this game?

This game seem to be VERY old. The scenes are dark. The HO scenes even darker. The HO scenes are repeated, again and again.

I was so bored and frustrated with this game that I didn’t even finish the free selection.

I seriously wouldn’t waste the space on my iPad putting in this game. Just awful!
  • Hmmm

The game was enjoyable to play, however...

The morphing objects were incredibly small and I honestly couldn’t see them on my iPhone 8.

The game was pretty short, and slightly confusing to begin with, regarding collection items and zero backstory. I don’t know why this game was released as part of the Mystery Case Files series because it has nothing to do with that storyline.

The hidden object puzzles required a lot of zooming in order to see the items, but it zoomed out again after you selected an item you were looking for.

I did enjoy playing the game, simply not as much as I usually enjoy a game by Eipix.
  • MCF: The Revenant’s Hunt by LynxMinx

Note to Howard the Doc: you need to switch the buns to match the door code, not remove them. I don’t know what else to tell you but it worked fine for me. I hope this helped. If not possibly check out KimTwilight’s review when it posts.
I started this game with a bad attitude, fully intending not to like it. There were no reviews out from our panel yet. Despite the odds, I am enjoying it anyway. Let’s face it; practically every game we play has something to do with Revenants, but this game has humorous comments so I am having fun with it. Yes, the graphics are on the dark side but they aren’t that awful. We have seen way worse from EIPIX. The game is customizable. There is a journal with notes and tasks and objectives are updated regularly. Although there are an awful lot of collectibles (piles of leaves, morphing objects, Revenant cards and Alvin’s letter) nobody is forcing you to look for them, and there is an on-screen indicator for leaves and morphing objects. If a Revenant card is available the box will open. You are provided with a very good teleport map with tasks and objectives, and it is not one of EIPIX ‘s confusing maps either, and it provides instantaneous transport between locations. Inventory is labeled and there are complex items to assemble. The HO scenes so far have been mostly word lists, and there is no alternative puzzle. I actually like the mix of puzzles/games because not every last one is rotational and there are super puzzles as well. Since EIPIX has had some time off before releasing this game, their quality assurance has been really good so far in this game. Judging by the size of the game, it will probably be on the short side, but I am not finding it tedious as others have reported. It’s strange because this is one of my least favorite series by this developer yet I am enjoying the game. I am not really having a problem following the storyline either. I will update the review once I am done with the game; however I wanted to help gamers who are “on the fence” as to whether to purchase this game. Truthfully at the beginning I thought it would be extremely dull but once I completed the trial I wanted to buy it, surprisingly so!
My true rating will be 3.5 stars. I deducted stars for the following reasons: the HO scenes were practically ALL word lists, so there was a general lack of innovation. The game was extremely short, inclusive of the bonus adventure. The bonus chapter storyline was convoluted and trite.
  • Just okay

I wanted to love it, as I’ve loved other games in this series, but this was subpar. I can’t really describe it, but the imagery was difficult to see, the action was stiff and odd, the games were not hard but hard to complete at certain times due to the interface. The HOPs were one-note and boring. I played through, but was not impressed, especially since I know the developers can do MUCH better! Sorry guys, but I’m still looking forward to the next one. :)
  • Too short

Good graphics, good game play, but waaaaay too short and not much of a story line. This game had lots of potential, but unfortunately didn’t capitalize.
  • Did not enjoy this installment

Basically the plot was evident from the beginning. So a guy comes back from the grave to take revenge on those that killed him and covered it up. I was so bored playing this game. I bought it thinking it would get better. I was sorely disappointed. I was hoping for more action and plot. I hope the next installment will be intriguing.
  • Great game

    Great game, too short.
  • More than Good Enough

Since I was so negative about "the silly witch" game, I thought I owed a big WOW for this game. The storyline taps nicely into many older games, and the story feels both new and old. The puzzles are very demanding, some taking me much longer than usual. The multi-level puzzles are especially engaging, the graphics are amazing, artistic, and while the HOGs in any game are not my favorite, the drawings here are very compelling. After staying up too late last night playing, a rainy day here promises I may make the bonus game. Really worth the $$$, a long, engaging, challenging game.
