Old version was so much better....
This used to be the go to for my husband and me any time we were in the car more than twenty minutes or so. We loved it. It was fun and challenging and something we could do to pass the time. We hadn't had the chance to play for a long time, but I decided to try again today. Upon opening the app, I had to give it permission to use my camera and microphone. Then, it asked for my phone number and first and last name. Nothing about any that made me feel comfortable, but I did it anyway. Then, I tried to start a new game only to find out that I had to invite one of my friends to play with me. That's absolutely not what I wanted to do. I immediately deleted the app.Show lessareann92
I want to play on one phone again
I used to play this game every day in the car with my wife, at parties with friends, and even at work with coworkers and my boss.
That was before it became “Faceoff” and required everyone playing to download it, add their info and camera to play.
It’s understandable that you want more people to download the app, and I’ve gotten so many friends to download the original app, but no one wants to do this version.
Make multiple modes of play! Let me play with friends on camera that are far away, and on one phone in group settings ere we pass the phone around.
This game is so fun and great, no other apps I’ve found ask for artist AND song. It’s always artist OR song.
This is the game I want to play, but not how I or any of my friends want to play it.

Need to go back
I loved the old version where you could play with random people. The new version where you can only play with friends is ridiculous. I can see playing with friends as an option, but changing the whole game to only playing with friends is not good. This was my favorite game before the change, I won’t play it now. I keep checking to see if you changed it back to the old style only to be disappointed. A great game is now a game I won’t playShow lessjsviper
Terrible - do not download
Used to be a fun game called song quiz. You could play alone, with a group of friends next to you, it was a good party game or road trip game and I loved it.
Then it turned into “face off” where you have to play over video with your contacts who must have it on their phone as well. I can’t figure out how to even start a game. But even if I could, I probably wouldn’t play it because it’s so dramatically different and worse than what it was before.
What were they thinking? Literally, I want to know what they were thinking. This is maybe the second review I’ve ever written but this was SUCH a terrible “update” that I felt it necessary to warn others and hopefully get the developers’ attention so they can explain themselves or change it back?Show lessiPhone haver
New version is terrible!!!
We have LOVED this app, it has seriously been our saving grace on long road trips… our family has such a fun time guessing the songs and it gets so competitive!
But with the new version you have to send an invite you can’t play with someone who’s sitting right next to you and this is SO inconvenient. So sad we can’t play this on road trips now 😭💔Show lessdeliliahcheer22
New update is whack
Song quiz use to be our go-to road trip game. Now we can’t play with each other in the car. I guess you play phone to phone?? And there’s drawing?? Why didn’t y’all just make a completely different app?? I can’t find another app like Song Quiz. All the others are multiple choice. This one use to have us screaming at the phone it was fun - even if AI lady spelled out all the words & punctuation.Show lessitsnotsane
This app doesn’t need all my info
This game was fun. Then the update happened. Needs your phone number. Needs your contacts. Needs your camera. You can select to opt out of that…and then it immediately proceeds to tell you that it needs that access to move forward. There is no such thing as skipping what is asking you. You don’t need all that information out there just to play random people. I have deleted this app and you should too. Who knows what they’re doing with your information.Show lessJonessee
This is NOT the same as Song Quiz
For some time, I had the app Song Quiz on my phone. Song Quiz was fantastic—a great guess-the-song game to play with friends or family. All you had to do was choose a decade, and it would play snippets out loud for each person to identify by song and artist. You passed the phone around and each person guessed on their turn. It was reliable and fun.
Then one day my app icon changed. I clicked it and was told Song Quiz had become Face Off. Obnoxiously, the game now required access to my contacts and camera. It literally will not let you play with this deactivated. And even after they’re activated, there doesn’t seem to be a way to play with people in real life using the app. Instead, as far as I can tell, you can only play with people in your contacts.

Being able to hangout with family and friends and play games together has definitely brought us closer together! The app feels like it has a lot to grow but I already have some pretty nice memories from it.0-Makun-0
SO disappointed
Ah, another app that decides to take advantage of the user base that grew their popularity and attempt to create some social media platform or simply invade our privacy so they can sell off data or who knows what else…the premise of this game was perfect before. But now I have to enable my camera to play a song quiz? In what world is that cool? Why would anyone want to have their camera on while playing this? And why would anyone think that someone happens to have so many friends available at the same time to play this game? Just insanely poor thinking. Deleting now and won’t download unless they change it back to a PLAYABLE gameShow lessnickname628475929
