Great but not ideal yet

Give 5 starts to this app in advance because its idea is awesome. That’s something I really wanted but even didn’t expect to be released. Thanks from all people who are obsessed with music and want to find someone with the same taste!

Downsides are lots of scammers at this moment of time and amateurish UI. I am sure that development team is already working on that!

So much potential

I have been on and off Turn up for a few years, i love the concept and its got so much potential, however there are some significant things letting it down.

At this point in time its about 70-80% inactive profiles, there either needs to be a clean up of dead profiles, or at least the ability to toggle on/off viewing people active within a certain amount of time. There also used to be a check box for seeing people outside of musical matches, which seems to have disappeared (likely because of the sheer volume of inactive users) so now you get people with zero music compatibility showing up just as much (if not more) as matched people, which surely defeats the purpose of the app entirely.

Otherwise its a great platform, and a fun way to find people with similar interests.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that there are many inactive profiles on the app. We do our best to remove them regularly. Regarding the checkbox, it is still there, but if you don't have any match in your filters, it will not appear!

cool way to meet people with similar taste!

i really like the concept of meeting people with similar music taste to me, it makes starting a conversation so much easier!

Is it trying ti force me to pay

I have been using this app for a while and was very unsuccessful. I can see I am getting likes. You have to pay to see that but you can see a blurred out image of the profile and one of them was easily identifiable so I kept clicking cross until I found this person. I was prompted many times to widen filters ETC. eventually after hundred of profiles they popped up. Guess what. They matched my original filters and were only 6 miles away. So why didn’t they show up much sooner.

Is this being done on purpose or is it just a fault because I notice it keeps happening. I’ll widen filters after being prompted and then many will appear that were within my original filter range. So are they making it harder deliberately to see the profiles that liked you hoping you’d pay. Because that’s how it seems.

there’s Catfishing everywhere, wanting to chat with you on signal, trying to sell you stuff, and it bothers because feels like everyone can text you instead of just giving likes, you get random messages of non-verified people. Great idea for sure, but sad to see so many desperate catfishers.

Hello, Sorry to hear that you are not having a good experience on Turn Up. We do our best to verify all profiles and remove those who do not respect our rules. Please report any suspicious profiles you come across, it helps us a lot!

Good concept but too many fake/inactive profiles

This app has good potential but it needs to add a verified feature to at least help with all the fake accounts on the app. Also inactive profiles should be paused or removed. Wasting swipes on people who have deleted the app is pointless. This is my 3rd time coming back to this app cause I do genuinely like its concept but haven’t seen any improvements yet. Please purge the fake accounts it would be a step in the right direction and have people verify they are real by doing photo authentication like other dating apps.

Good in theory but …

A good concept but after using the app for months I’m yet to get a single match. Of course it’s designed to get you to buy their premium membership. But that is so much more expensive than other apps. And I can not use the app for days and then get told I’m out of likes after 3 likes.

Hello, The subscription allows you to save time, but you can very well match and meet people in music by using the free version of the app, it's up to you. At least you can test the service for free, it is not always the case :)

Good app idea, just needs plenty of iterations to be perfected.

Having the tinder format, this app introduces a new way to connect with people, but is afraid to enforce its uniqueness onto people.
I think what it has so far is good but needs improvement. We need better ways to optimize how to find people with similar music taste other than choosing what one likes and having your algorithm match for us. Maybe have a section that allows you to go through people that contain quizzes that match one’s taste. Also have a filter added with the age and location range to show people who like my chosen music genres. I also would like to see a creative way to entice people to make their quizzes. Many people I get shown don’t have a quiz. Sort of defeating the purpose of this app. I’m sure you guys will improve this app over time. Good luck.
