Description of Quiche Reader

FOR OVERWHELMED READERS. With traditional read-it-later apps, you often end up wasting time scrolling and managing a long and daunting list of articles where you cannot tell anymore what is worth reading. Ultimately, you get backlog anxiety, you stop opening the app, and you have read nothing. To solve this, Quiche Reader only shows you the first article in your queue. You must read, archive, or delete it, before reading the next one. You can cheat a bit and snooze an article to push it to the back of the queue, but only three times per article. Quiche Reader removes the anxiety of decision making. It only shows the first article in your queue, and helps you decide to read or delete it, before you can proceed to the next one in line. LET GO OF WHAT YOU DON’T NEED TO READ. Quiche Reader encourages you to let go of articles you haven’t read for 30 days, and those you keep postponing reading. UNINTERRUPTED READING EXPERIENCE. Swipe to archive an article, and the next one in your queue appears instantly, with no loading time. NEW STUFF IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER. Your oldest saved articles are presented first so that they won’t be left forgotten at the bottom of the queue. SAVE ARTICLES FROM ANYWHERE. Save articles from any app and web browser on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Get all extensions at https://quiche.works/reader/download Quiche Reader for Mac is available on the Mac App Store. AND READ THEM ANYWHERE. Quiche Reader is also available on the Mac App Store. PRIVACY RESPECTFUL. No sign up required, you can start using Reading Queue right away. Your queue and archive are stored in your private iCloud storage. It is also ad-free and does not track what you read. Please keep your personal data for yourself. PRAISED AND LOVED. “The point isn’t to read less, but more. Instead of wasting time picking which article to read, or getting so overwhelmed that you switch to Instagram, you’ll hopefully find your groove with Reading Queue.” — Nick Douglas, Lifehacker, Jan 2019 “It has gradually become an indispensable part of my reading routine. Although pretty minimalist, it solves an essential issue that many reading services fail to do — make you go back to your reading list. I highly recommend it.” — straydogpalace on App Store Ukraine “Clean and to the point. Excellent! I love the no-clutter approach, it's just what I needed.” — vvvaporclouds on App Store Portugal “Wow, just wow. The app is super easy to use and makes my reading habits more structured and simpler.” — Bert Q on App Store Austria “Love the simplicity of it. Now part of my workflow.” — Count Baltar on App Store UK “This is really well done. This might be the first read it later service I'll actually use. Really like how it isn't just an overwhelming list.” — Bob W on Designer News “This is INCREDIBLE! I've had similar issues with Pocket/Instapaper/Safari/Etc. in the past, and this is exactly what I've been looking for. The UX is super well done. It jumps you in and gets you started right away, and keeps you focused on the task.” — Zachary B on Designer News “If you're drowning in articles you saved to read later, Reading Queue is a really neat new iOS app.” — @PonchoRebound on Twitter “Been beta testing this and have found it surprisingly effective at actually reading all the things I save for later. Love a well done single-purpose app.” — @nickfruhling on Twitter -- greg@quiche.works https://quiche.works/reader Twitter: @quichereader

  • Bugged and unusable

The app requires you to add an initial article at the tutorial screen before you can start using it. However, the ‘add to’ shortcut in Safari isn’t appearing. So the app is softlocked at the intro screen and unusable.

    Developer Response

Quiche Reader is not "unusable." Please restart your device, and the share extension should be available. Sincere apologies for this inconvenience, but unfortunately you have encountered a notorious iOS bug where extensions of newly installed apps do not show up immediately in the share sheet. Many users reported this same issue and there's nothing I can do until Apple fixes it. Fortunately, restarting always does the trick. Feel free to reach out at greg@quiche.works if you have any question. Also, if your problem is solved, I would be extremely grateful if you could edit your review and rating, as it penalizes the app greatly in App Store rankings. Thank you very much.
  • Simple elegant app

I like the simplicity of the app and would love to see a few more options added. I hope the app is still being supported, as there hasn’t been any updates in awhile. Nice job on this beautiful app. Good to here, appreciate the quick response, and looking forward to what’s to come.

Thanks a lot for your review! I love Quiche Reader and it is definitely not abandoned 😊  As I'm working on my other app Quiche Browser, the endgame is to have both apps working closely together (e.g. fast save to Reader from Browser), and share some advanced features (reader mode, offline saving, etc.). Please stay tuned!
