  • Great app

Glad it’s back and I’m excited to see what happens next! Looking forward to new features and more users!
  • Parler is not a free speech platform!

I installed this app and immediately found out it was a extreme right-wing site. I read a few stories and read some poster’s radical responses from extreme right-wing viewpoints to downright mention of violence being used against any minority group you can mention! As I started posting I received serious threats and vulgarities that I had never seen. But being one that doesn’t back down easily, I fought against the racism and threats against me and after awhile I have to guess that many of the right-wing posters ganged up on me and Parler shut my account down without any warning or notice of what policy had been violated! The site states it is a free speech platform but I found it is only free for the extreme right-wing groups and I suspect even worse is going on within the site. It is NOT a free speech platform! I can understand why Apple once stopped Parler from being offered on the App Store! They need to remove this app NOW!

  • Spam City

I downloaded this app to be less spied on than other social media platforms and their agendas. At the time of registration, I had to provide an email address and a phone number. I tried using a Google voice number, and it would not take it.

I started receiving robo-texts to “Parler Subscriber” about various people running for elections in areas that aren’t even in my state. Per the message, I typed “stop” to unsubscribe, yet I still receive them.

It’s gotten so bad that I reached out to Parler through their in-app “feedback and request” option. That didn’t stop the spam texts. I ended up deleting the app and requested to delete my account and all of my information from Parler. That was about a month ago. I block the number each time and I’m still receiving spam texts. So much for freedom and being “better” as a social media platform.

  • Serious accessibility problems for VoiceOver users

I love the concept of Parler as someone who is passionate about the free exchange and dissemination of information without interference from government and self-appointed arbiters of truth. It's such a disappointment and so very frustrating that I can't enjoy this app on my iPhone as a VoiceOver user. Many of the buttons and links are unlabeled or labeled confusingly. There are numbers in the main feed next to each post that I suppose are echoes, votes and so forth, but there is no indication of which is which. The objects are far too numerous in each post, requiring too many swipe gestures in VoiceOver to navigate the posts comfortably. Those are just to name a few. I would love to sit down with someone on the developer team and discuss the issues and how to make the UI more VoiceOver friendly. If anyone on the developer team is reading this, please respond to this review so we can start a dialogue, if you will. This resource is much too valuable for me not to try and help make it usable for blind iPhone users.

  • Broken update

The latest update made this app unusable. The option to reply to a comment is now buried under a floating footer. Making it unclickable and impossible to interact with. When you compose a post, and accidentally touch anywhere outside the message box, it completely discards what you composed without confirmation.

Not to mention my long-standing complaints were you cannot change the email address associated with your account, the fact that so many people lost all their followers when the app came back online, and the fact that all posts from before the deplatforming have been hacked to a web archive, but Parler still cannot or will not restore them.

I don’t like leaving one star reviews. Fix some of these and I’ll restore some stars. Fix all of these and restore historical posts, and I will restore all stars.

  • Love this App!

This app is not what it is being led to show by, yet again, the mainstream media! Hello! Wake up puppets! This app is actually better than Twitter in my opinion. I have yet to see ads displaying... wait.. I have yet to see ads! I get tired of seeing ads and suggestions to follow everyone and their brothers. Instead, I can choose who I want to follow on my own. I get to choose without it being shoved at me. I have not seen nor heard any of these comments being presented in media. So.... ever think.. as with everything... mainstream media is showing what they want you to believe? Hmm... just a thought. I want to know what us happening in my world without the mainstream media telling me ONLY what they want me to hear! That is bias! Nothing else!

  • Protecting my rights!

I recently downloaded Parler after several accounts I followed were deleted and harmless stories were flagged and taken down. I was fed up and sick of Big Media controlling the content I was shown, which was only the content they wanted me to see. The greatest right one can have is the freedom of speech. Parler gave me as well as every other user that. I was relieved to see real news, not biased, crooked media. DOWNLOAD THIS APP - especially if you are in the same boat as I am. It’s time to make a stance against big media/tech companies by ditching their platforms and moving to places like Parler. And to Apple, if you take this app off the AppStore, I will discard of every apple product, service, etc. that I have bought from your company and take my business elsewhere.

  • Useless echo chamber

I joined Parler to see what it was a about. I am not a fan of Twitter and I absolutely hate FB, but Parler is not a valid alternative.
Upon signing in I was given a choice of “personalities” to follow. Every single one of them some kind of right wing extremist.
Once I was in, following threads, I realize that even if the tone of the app aligned with my own political beliefs, I would not find it useful or constructive.
Say what you want about Twitter, what makes it relevant is the clash of opinions and the lively discussions.
Parler is like a post apocalyptic landscape of right wing malcontents telling each other what they already agreed on.
In a few hours of browsing (I never posted) I saw one single post from an account that disagreed with the general tone of the site.
Anecdotes I read online claimed that moderate and left leaning accounts were blocked by Parler. I have no first hand evidence of that and unlike my right wing co-citizens, I like having evidence if I make a claim. Alas, I found it suspicious there where so few contrarian opinions. I did not post because I wanted to continue monitoring what was being said, but quickly I found it to be an exercise in futility.
If being challenged triggers you, then this app is for you. If participating in a marketplace of ideas is more your speed, look elsewhere.

  • Things to Know

To create an account, the final step is entering a Captcha. The trouble is your keyboard will turn all lower case letters into upper case letters making it impossible to prove you're not a robot. Just when it looked like the robots were going to win, a Captcha came up with all upper case letters. I was able to enter it and create an account. Parler needs to come up with another way to keep the boys out because it's keeping new users out.

Next, Parler's founders look like they're right wing and into politics. But you don't have to be either of those things to join. You create your own experience on Parler. Follow the people you want, search and use the hashtags you want, post what you want.

They respect your privacy. They don't sell your data. That's the most important thing of all.

  • So far so good with 1 minor flaw

So far I love this app. They don’t censor you like other social media sites do, they don’t care what side of the political isle your on all speech is welcome (just not hate, or harmful speech which is how it should be but I have had to report several leftists for racist comments) but anyways....we need an open forum to be able to debate in a civilized way and Parler seems to be getting this done. As for my 1 minor complaint I didn’t realize that I could set my profile to private when I started it and a few people I don’t know started following me and I can’t figure out how to get rid of them as I don’t want them following me I do like to post pics of my kids and that’s something I don’t want strangers gets their hands on but maybe I’m just missing something.
