  • Terrible after update.

The app was great until a recent update a few months back. Now it is full of ads, the vessel pictures are gone, other details are hidden or difficult to find (vessel track, draft, etc), and the user interface is terrible. Hopefully they revert back to the old form. I do not recommend.
  • This update just is not good

You have GOT to be kidding with this update, right? You took away literally EVERYTHING that made the old app great, you eliminated ship picture.

I’m adjusting my review slightly. It seems like you didn’t put key features behind a paywall; it’s just that you got rid of all the stuff that made your app great to begin with. When I used to click on the Arthur M. Anderson or the Edward L. Ryerson, I’d get a picture and details. Now when I click on them in my fleet, literally nothing happens. It’s a non responsive button!

I do feel bad about being hard on you, because I think it’s clear that you genuinely want to make a good app. You’re not a villain, you’re not trying to force us into a subscription or exorbitant fees or anything like that. But here’s the thing: you already HAD a 5-star app. You had already achieved greatness, and for some reason, you decided to change it. What’s done in error can always be undone, my friend, so hopefully you won’t be too proud to really look long and hard at all the functionality this update has taken away and consider reversing course.
  • Horrible update!

You have GOT to be kidding with this update, right? You took away literally EVERYTHING that made the old app great, you eliminated ship picture, you put most features behind a paywall, and you did it in the most underhanded way imaginable: just quietly sneaking all these changes into an update with no announcement of any kind.

Do you really think that kind of stuff is going to make people want to pay to do business with you? Well, maybe they will, but I sure as heck won’t. Deleting immediately and will NEVER pay a penny for anything your team develops, now or in the future.
  • Great. Good improvements

The app overall is great, however, in certain areas, the ships lose coverage and you can no longer see them. To prevent that from happening they should make it so after it receives the position it keeps moving like the way it is on the website. And please add a 3d view
  • Extremely Helpful, but inferior to the website

This app has been enormously helpful for boat watching whenever I’m in the Duluth area. It’s definitely better than other ship tracking apps in the fact that, unlike the others I have tried, this one is completely free. One (MarineTraffic) requires you to pay to even see all the information about a ship (which, I might add, you can just search up online). It’s a bit of a scam unless you only want to use it for tracking ships.

HOWEVER, there is something I don’t understand. This app, although it works well, is far behind the website version, which is better. If this app were updated to be like the website, it would be great.

It’s been 5 years since the last developer update, so chances are this won’t happen, but I hope it will
  • King

The application is a good one for the most important part of the job which is sailing the waters of earth on my behalf, kingdom, and the sea.
  • Vestal Ships app

I love using it. It works great even when there is no internet connection. I have cell service and I can use it to connect to the app. It’s very accurate and extremely up to date on the ships in the harbor in Duluth,MN. I can search for ships by name to locate were they are.
    Thank you very kindly.
  • Very poor

It won’t track ships I can see right in front of me. Definitely only worth the zero dollars paid.
  • Fleets don’t work

Created a fleet of a few vessels then it wouldn’t recall them. Tried to a more vessels later and the app wouldn’t do it.
Great idea but on version 1.1. Needs upgrading badly
  • No container tracking

You can track a ship but not specific containers.
