To me I call it that because when I’m bored I just play and I find it very interesting and there’s a lot of fun in it like for me I love playing strategy games and I love meeting people around the world especially when you’re in an alliance you can have friends around the world,you can chat with them and play along side with them too and just a little of advice if you want to play this for the first time you might encounter lots of bullies from those who played longer than you but trust me don’t think you’re 100%defeated you’re just being tested by them and trust me one day you will be in their shoes and you’ll understand why they attacked you and you will defeat them too it’s all in your hand….once again give a 5star to this as I’ve given it……love the game.

I’m sure people spend hundreds and probably thousands of real dollars to grow the power of your castle. If you try to grow your castle without spending you’ll get stuck down at relatively low power range of 1/20th of those who drop real money in the game. Even if you drop money and build a super strong and powerful castle, what can you do? Raid other castles? Not really, anyone playing places a peace shield and doesn’t engage at all. Or you can hunt around the map for low power castles of people who are not playing enough to remember to place a piece shield up for the weekend… there is no challenge in that.
Game definitely isn’t engaging enough to get you to want to interact with it (can’t really say play). If you want a game that engages you, download the new Age of Empires and actually play a real strategy game with real endings. Rise of Castles keeps people playing only because you invest so much time hoping something builds up… but it never really does.
Save your money, save your time, and don’t waste a second or a dime on this dog of a so called game.

Thank you support!This game is fantastic in many ways. The graphics are superb. However, once you begin to play there are necessary resources that you must have to advance. You can purchase them, just attach a credit card. Then, it takes thousands to play. In two years I have racked up over four thousand dollars (USD)! It becomes a freakish desire to better your castle. Then, it was suggested to have a farm castle you can harvest for more resources. Then it requires dollars to advance to have sufficient resources to harvest. More castles, more money! Then, you are a level 13 castle and somebody comes along with a level 29 castle, obviously no contest, and they burn you down when you are not online to help yourself. Start rebuilding and do you have more money on that credit card?
Again, great graphics, the heroes you recruit are phenomenal, the dragon incorporates some great graphics. Overall I like it but have decided no more purchases and game has slowed to a crawl and when your castle is destroyed while you are not online, well, struggle as best you can and soldier on.
If it weren’t for the burning down while not online I would give this game 5 stars.

You have to build up everything precisely because all buildings in the castle are sequentially linked to each other at each castle level to develop and/or maintain progress.
You choose where to place most of the buildings, for me that’s the messy part, in your castle. Marble quarries buildings need to be around the quarry. Different resources each have their own Storehouse.
You have houses that build a population, you have Mint buildings to make gold to aide various upgrades and research at each castle level.
You upgrade the Tavern to accommodate the housing population that you must continually supply with food and ale or the population will fall and everything will grind to a halt.
This is a war game so expect to get attacked or use gems to buy shields. Join an alliance and donate 3000 per tap (25+ taps each day of much needed resources is a lot to lose) to alliance science to earn points to get 8 hour shields instead of spending a lot of gems for one although 8 hour shields now days are pathetically short so you need 24 hour, 3 days and 1 hour shields.

If you ever request a refund not directly through the game, they freeze your account and give you negative credit you have to work off/buy through in-game packs.
met some friends I’ve been playing with for 4 years now. Unfortunately the developers care about money to the detriment of the game, the matchmaking and glitches in the latest Eden unbalanced the whole event and has really limited enjoyment for all. It’s a shame as it could be 5stars if they would prioritise checking for fundamental errors and thinking about what they are doing over rushing out new updates for the purpose of lining their bank account. Greedy gimps. To continue following the ‘developers’ response… I don’t care about the spending that’s something you can do if you want. The problem is they don’t care or understand the people are genuinely aggrieved that the game values rushing out events before they are tested. In the last month at least 3 events have been amended, postponed or rerun because of glitches. When gamers are spending days of their life playing this the least they should expect is a solid event. Unfortunately not. Part 3 I have left the game.

I have been playing for 2 months and already spent a small fortune. there are so many side events it is often hard to remember to do them all and some are not easy to understand or find again after doing the tasks. You need the help of experienced players to advise you on the many elements of this game.
The game requires you to gather masses of resources to upgrade buildings which seem unrealistic. it is easy to overspend on this game with so many things to do. The exclusive Chinese states have promotional packages that are much cheaper than the rest of the world have to pay, this ends up generating hatred against the Chinese sponsored by the developers, and makes it impossible to compete against them.
Although I have enjoyed playing this game, there seems no point continuing to spend my money if the Chinese are given an unfair advantage enabling them to progress much faster than other players around the world. When we come up against these Chines States in battles, most players can only shield instead of fighting and that is not fun.
Unless the developers create a level playing field where the whole world get comparable prices and offers, or put the Chinese states only against each other in battles, then I will stop playing.
