  • Not as great as it used to be

The game is fun and addictive but in the last month it’s gone downhill fast. The challenges have become less fun because the developers now give limited selections to use when designing a room, and often the available selections don’t work well together. The cost of items has also risen considerably, and the number of items you must purchase with gold have increased. One of my biggest complaints is now when using coins to “unlock” 3 new items, only 1-2 items are unlocked and the remaining are duplicates of something I already own and can buy with cash or gold. The problem here is when I’ve used my own (real) money to buy coins in order to “unlock” new items. Because of this I’ve stopped purchasing coins. Finally, there was a recent update which really messed things up. The developers claim to have fixed it with a subsequent update but I’ve noticed little change. The graphics are horrible and players now have to constantly scroll endlessly to find items to use. There’s an option to look only through owned items but numerous times now I’ve found an item I own (and have 1+ uses remaining) in the “all items” category but not the “owned category”. Because of all the recent issues, I’ve begun to lose interest in the game. I’m currently still playing but no longer using my own money other than for the monthly pass, which I’m not sure I’ll do again after this month. I really hope the developers make drastic improvements soon!

That doesn't sound right! Could you please give us more information at support@redecor.com so that we can investigate?🙏
  • Creative freedom

I love this game. I play it every single day. It’s a lot of fun designed seeing other people’s take on a room. I have no issue with the amount of time it takes for the votes to come in. I also don’t mine spending money to get certain items because it’s only one of a few things I decide to spend money on, but that’s just me. I only gave it 4 stars because of the voting. I’m not sure how it can be fixed, though. I’ve read other comments on here and seen the developers response of “creative freedom” and that’s why they give prompts for certain materials to be used. (I actually like that feature!) It’s just that even though the game might ask you to use a certain type of wall color or type of bedspread, it doesn’t mean the player is going to make anything match! I’ve seen some of the ugliest rooms win, or rooms that are almost just completely white! How is this possible? I’m talking rooms with purple, neon orange and red win over something that actually matches, or a room that’s white on white on beige win over beautifully done rooms that someone took time on. I’m so sick of seeing an all white room win. I always try to follow the prompt, but it doesn’t matter. People are just going to do whatever they want and vote however they want. That’s why I said, I’m not sure this voting issue can even be fixed. So, the game really is a lot of fun. I’ve just resigned myself to the fact that I’m only playing for myself and not to actually compete.

Hi! Thanks a lot for your valuable feedback! 💖 We're super happy to hear you enjoy redecorating with us! Unfortunately, we don't have any means or control as to which designs are being voted by the players. Since voting plays a big role in how the rankings are decided, it's also on our list to find a way to reward players who follow the brief. It's a bit tricky to implement as the beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and if the brief is to create a "stylish & eclectic room," it's not so straightforward to do technically, but we're working on it. :) Like a dedicated scholar, we're always listening to suggestions: about how Redecor could improve, and about what players enjoy and what they don't. We appreciate your passion, honesty, and feedback! We can't wait to introduce all the upcoming cool features – we hope you’ll love them just as much as we do 🤩
  • Best design game by far!!

I love this game. I love the realistic look of the rooms and items. Every other design game out there is so cartoony looking. They feel like childrens games. Redecor feels much more elevated and I LOVE THAT! I see so many users complaining about having to spend actual money to do anything in the game… I don’t find that to be true. Have I spent actual money in the year I have been playing? Yes. But only to treat myself lol otherwise you CAN play this game strategically and not spend your own cash. There are so many ways to earn money in the app! Voting everyday, daily bonus, entering a design challenge in the first 24hrs, duals, placing top 3, and more. People must be way over spending in order to completely run out of funds in game and have to spend their own money. Besides the fact that it’s an app! Of course you have to spend to play. Whether that is real or in game money. That’s how these apps and games keep going! Sheesh. I love it and I think its great.
I think it would be cool if the voting was more like a ranking… there are 10 designs in a group, but we vote between 2 at a time. It might be more accurate if it we could see all ten and rank them from best to worst. But I have no idea how that would work.
I also hate the current league challenge lol it’s nearly impossible to get to diamond league and I really wish I could opt out of this challenge. It stresses me out lol
Otherwise… GREAT DESIGN APP! Love it!

  • Great!! But suggestion

I downloaded this app yesterday and I’ve been OBSESSED with it. I haven’t been able to put it down!! But there’s only so many challenges you can do before you have to start redesigning old spaces instead of practicing newer ideas. I think a great feature would be to set aside space for people waiting on the challenges to end where they can freely decorate with the items they currently have. Like you can choose from a variety of different room layouts and then design them however you’d like. Not to be submitted to a challenge, but just so you can kill time and continue designing while you wait for the challenges! I’d love to see this idea in action. especially so I can genuinely spend all day playing the app instead of just 30-40 minutes to finish all the challenges and then play a boring waiting game. It’s also be great to be able to practice certain styles (like bauhaus) to get the hang of it before I submit one for judging! Sometimes I walk into challenges and feel unprepared because all I have to go on is 2 sentence descriptions before I’m thrown into designing. I know I can Google them separately, but I think being able to freely practice it would help me comprehend them a lot more!

  • Great game but

I do like this game from a visual and tech point..like it’s a well operated game? BUT its no fun when you ACTUALLY play. As in, you read what the challenge says and you design it. The people who play this game DO NOT READ the challenges. When it’s time to vote they just pick what’s prettier ..design home..they actually follow the rules. This game is for people who just want to choose anything and make it “pretty”. Meaning the challenge can say “design a boy room” and the people Will make a pink room with flowers and they will WIN the challenge…that is what the people will vote for the win..whatever is “pretty” and I just cannot wrap my head around it. Yes the game is for fun but if you are the type of person who is going to actually play the game and read the rules and what they want you to do, you will not have fun. It can say style a bohemian room and the person who made the room all pink with flowers will win like that it’s just crazy to me. 🙄 lol maybe I’m a stickler but I will go back to design home. They actually read the challenges and played to win. Not played to make things cute. Designing is not about your style. And then when you actually spend money because you are going to have to buy something for this game ..when you actually spend money for the challenges again it’s the pink one with flowers that wins. 🥲 bye bye

  • Fun Game but Costly

I love decorating and this can be a fun experience but it is so costly to actually be able to use the decor items you want. I understand that the whole point for the developers in allowing you to download it free is for them to make money on you buying tokens, gold coins and trading it for cash. The problem is first you have to spend tokens to unlock decorating mediums but then also have to spend gold coins and cash to buy a certain number of uses.
The amount you can earn by placing or winning a design versus how much is required to unlock an item is so great that you have no choice but to spend quite a bit of money or submit an inferior design. I’ve spent more in a week than I ever would playing a game and I’m still frustrated that I really can’t go any further without buying more tokens which is something that I’m not going to do.
If I had full reign without spending 100 dollars plus this would be a blast but the way it is set up is too costly for me to use it to it’s full potential. Other than that it would definitely get 5 stars from me.
Until I ran out of tokens I had a lot of fun with the challenges and using the different colors, textiles and mediums.
A note to the developers… you should consider that once a player unlocks and buys a medium they should have that item permanently in their inventory instead of having to continue to buy uses of the same item.

  • Best interior decorating app

This is one of the few apps I’ve willingly paid for in app purchases because I enjoy it so much I wanted to give back to the developers! It’s superior to other design apps of its kind because you’re collecting materials and colors for your designs rather than furniture and other elements. Other games I’ve played could be frustrating because I wouldn’t have enough furniture in the right style to complete the challenge. Redecor is different because you’re presented with a predesigned interior that you then decorate with different materials and art to reflect your interior design philosophy and the requirements of the challenge.
I love seeing the creativity of the other players and getting to vote on their designs. I feel the game is generous with rewards and tokens/cash to buy materials to decorate with, so I can play for hours if I wanted to. It’s because of that generosity that I feel compelled to purchase the season pass, because it’s fun to try new materials and art, and I appreciate the user focused development of the app. The designers are doing a great job of making a fun and satisfying game in a genre rife with greedy brand deals and pay to play philosophies, and I so appreciate that! Thanks for making such a fun and relaxing game!

  • Best app of this type

I’ve played sooo many interior design / decor apps and this is absolutely the best one. The entire set up of the game is just superior to all the others. The rooms you’re decorating actually look like photographs of real homes and they’re each unique and have their own vibe and style in the actual build of the room instead of looking incredibly basic and empty like other games. The fact that you don’t need passes to do challenges is incredible, too. You can still vote on people’s looks for cash. The ability to use tokens to unlock other designs and fabrics is really cool too because you don’t have to wait until you reach a certain level and in app purchases are available to buy the tokens to unlock the designs or you can just earn tokens through the game. The “duel” set up for some challenges is really cool too. You can do one on one challenges with a random person and see their design first and then try to make yours better. Then people vote on whose design they like more. You can also see how everyone else placed and all of their designs so you can get a better idea of how people are voting and what’s popular. You can also enter multiple challenges in a day before running out of money to buy supplies, whereas in other apps you usually only get a big enough reward per design to enter one more design per day. Overall, I love this app. I’m beyond pleasantly surprised given how quickly I usually give up on other apps of this type.

  • Amazing game but…

As much as I love this game I can’t give it 5 stars due to the amount of money you have to spend just to unlock items. I love the idea of the game and the free creativity we get when decorating. I’m addicted to the game and haven’t been able to put it down since downloading it. I even got my husband hooked. I do have some thoughts. I don’t think star coins are necessary in the game. It’s just not enough for them to just let us use gold and cash to buy more items. I don’t mind spending money on more gold and cash because that’s what you’re really using in the game. However to pay for star coins on top of it is just too much. We have to purchase star coins to use them to unlock only 3 items from one category out all the categories they have in the game. I’d understand if we used star coins to unlock the whole category but just 3 items out of the whole is ridiculous. They want you to sink more money into the game that way. You can’t unlock more items unless you win first place, use your star coins or pay for the season pass. I have bought the season pass a few times and it’s worth it since you get more items that way. 2nd and 3rd barely get scraps which should they should at least get a bit more for their placement. I really really love this game but honestly I don’t want to have to keep spending money on star coins just to enjoy the game.

  • Amazing! ✨🍑🌿

Hi there! If you are clicked this game and want to know more about it, you’re reading on the right place! Redecor is an awesome game and I can’t argue that it’s not. It’s so much fun voting and coming up with new designs. This game lets me be very creative, and can even cheer me up on a gloomy day.
First off, lots of people come up with unique, colorful ideas. They express themselves so that they can one, teach other people how they like to style things + how they pair colors, and two, get better at designing and stop being afraid to show what they really like. To me, this is like a REALLY GOOD type of social media, without the social part! (That’s what I like! 🌱✨)
Next, redecor has many different color options, textures, etc. I think that this is wonderful because you can actually see what some textures and colors look like. This allows you to come up with new ideas and let your imagination run wild 🌸! I showed this to my sister and she said that she wants the game too because of this! Both of us are really into this game!
Lastly, this game can let people think about what they want in their ACTUAL HOUSE + what they want in SOMEONE ELSES house if they’re home designing. It’s really a great app for these people because it helps them make money 💴!
Anyway, thank you for reading my review. I hope it convinces you to get this game! After all, it is free :). Bye!!
