  • I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!

As you can tell I really like the game, when I first saw the title I thought this was going to be your average play as a waiter and sieve the correct food game but then it slowly got more serious and just when you complete the game and you think oh it’s all over BOOM! The game said happy ending, the character designs are adorable and simple but the characters themselves are very deep and have so much personality to them, most of the entertainment I got from the game was just by talking to the npcs and seeing their reactions. The only thing about this game that might get people to not enjoy it as much is that ads are included in it, but only to do extra things that you don’t really need to do but you can to unlock the backstory’s of the characters you meet, the game also has something you can do to unlock chapter 2 without needing to pay money you just feed a lot of fish to a cat( I really love the developers for doing this cause I’m poor and I still got to experience the full game for free ) if you manage to read this full thing of me just fan girling over this game then I hope you play it for yourself, the game as I said before is really good and you can see how much effort and love is put in the game so please play it this game needs love.

  • Mixed feelings

To the developer or anyone looking to play this game- there are so many things I love about this game, I enjoyed being a waiter for the dead, I enjoyed the progressive storyline throughout the game, and there are many more aspects that I enjoyed throughout the game. However, I do have some things I didn’t like as much with the game. There was an overweight character that was portrayed in a way to make it seem like they treated their family horribly and never did anything but play video games and eat. This is mildly upsetting because this is a stereotype often subtly in the media, it would be nice if they could maybe show slight remorse because even in the end they don’t seem to have made any change in behavior or willingness to change. This is only a statement though I’m not asking it to be put on the game, I’m simply trying to let it be brought into conversation. The game is also really short depending on how you play it, I finished it in about a day (with ads). I was really surprised when I reached the train and it wanted me to pay for the sequel. Yes, there is a way to get past the train for free, but it takes a long time compared to everything else in the game. I enjoyed the game, but for how long it lasts, it’s kinda disappointing.

TLDR; good app in general, slightly disappointing, and quick and easy.

  • Definitely Recommend! Cute.

I first saw this on tiktok and the art style attracted me. This game is outstanding. The storyline is awesome, and i'm still hoping to find out more about our character. But I highly recommend going into this game without any knowledge of the plot, because it's very thrilling! You can tell actual work was put into this game. Diving has to be the most unique thing in the entire game. I loved seeing all of the people's memories. Overall, I definitely recommend this if someone's looking for a cute, well made, interesting game that isn't very long. (random, but you should buy one of the sponsors.. coming from a platinum sponsor)

  • Lots of potential, poor execution

This story had a lot of potential but unfortunately it was dragged down by a blunt lack of empathy, especially for a game where you explore characters’ pasts and how they died. The game creators’ biases were strongly displayed through the tone of the dialogue, which was very superficial and judgmental. Your interactions with characters rang with this holier-than-thou attitude that tried to force some weird morality upon the audience, which was extremely irritating.

Another clear bias was something a lot of reviews mentioned already: the only person of color in the game died in a shady crime deal gone wrong. This perpetuates really harmful and false stereotypes. The writing was also awful and I cringed like 90% of the time. Dialogue was just so lazy and unimaginative but maybe this had more to do with poor translation. If not, it might just be a bad fit for western cultures.

I almost bought this on the switch but I’m so glad I didn’t pay $12 for a game that was honestly not worth paying for at all. It’s a shame because the story could’ve been turned into a real gem of a game but it fell flat on so many levels.

  • Absolutely fantastic ❤️

A very similar yet beautiful game that had me on the edge of tears the whole time. It's amazing how the atmosphere and tone is conveyed through a such a simple design and soundtrack, don't mistake it for laziness though.
I think one of the only drawbacks is the advertisements, although I don't blame them. The devs are pretty honest about the ads and don't make them overbearing so it's definitely not a deal breaker. Everyone has to make money right?
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone seeking a 15-30 minute emotional, down to earth, heartfelt game with some pretty good world building. You will absolutely get attached to the characters and if you don't shed a tear there's something wrong with you.
A lot of love clearly went into this so definitely download it (and supporting the devs wouldn't be a bad idea either, this was made with only like 5 people not counting the translation helpers)
    11/10 would absolutely recommend

  • Please play this game, I’m begging

I don’t usually write reviews on games but I made an exception for this one. This is game is so beautiful in many ways and made me cry at one point because of the great storytelling and cute art style. I went into this game blind thinking it was just a generic cooking game and came out surprised and pleased with my findings. This game is not just a cooking game, it’s so much more. I’ve been dealing with the death of one of my cats slim recently and this game helped me out tremendously and made me feel a lot better about the situation. If you too are dealing with the death of a loved one recently, I would totally recommend checking this game out. It’s pretty short and only took me around 2 hours to finish but it was such a fun ride.

  • Really Unique

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt this game deserves it. The art style is super nice and comforting (and unsettling at the right parts) and the story was really interesting and in depth in the best ways possible. You really get attached to the characters quickly because of their unique personalities despite them being such brief interactions a lot of the time. Going into this, I thought it would just be a cute little pixelated game, but i couldn’t have been more wrong. The story had elements of wholesome family bonds as well as creepy horror elements. I’m gonna be totally honest, horror doesn’t usually get to me, but this game does a really great job of creating a creepy atmosphere that it really stuck with me. Truly an awesome game, cant recommend it enough! Definitely gonna check out other games from this developer.

  • Absolutely Stunning

This game is so clearly artistically designed, both with the graphics, storytelling, and overall message. I personally love these kind of 8-bit games, and to have one with such an amazing theme to it brought tears to my eyes, haha. Five stars, all around, all day, everyday. I just had a question really quick for the developers: I purchased the sequel, The Nihility, but it didn’t seem to unlock the sequel despite my transaction. It’s probably more of a technical issue than anything else, but I was just wondering what could’ve possibly transpired. Nevertheless, I loved this game and played it all in one sitting, and would gladly give some dollars to show my appreciation for it. :)

  • Hidden Bliss

I stumbled upon this game while scrolling through the App Store. I thought it would be a classic restaurant game where you served guests and that was the plot. I even hesitated to move any further beyond the opening scenes, it got repetitive for me. Was I in for a surprise when the devil devoured everyone at the train. This game really shocked me, through the way it leads you to believe it would be a slow paced and drawn out game, when in fact, there’s so much more hidden beneath the surface. It’s really amazing. The characters and art style of the setting and scenes are amazing. The music is great too. This is a rare game that actually made me spend money, and it was definitely worth it for the sequel and customizations at the end.

  • Awesome! ✨ Only a few things-

This game by far is one of my favorite apps. The characters are so cute looking and memorable! The game crashed the first time I opened it, but I reset my iPad and it worked after that. I highly recommend going into it blind, the story is incredible. Speaking of that, the rest of this review has spoilers, so go play the game first-!

    [SPOILERS]
Okay. This game is amazing. My only problems with it were some of the characters. While most of them were great, the black man and the overweight boy are kinda badly represented. The boy is shown as rude; he spends all day just playing games, and that’s okay- people in real life are just like that sometimes! I just feel like that’s his main character trait, which seems like fatshaming. And the black man, well, it’s been a while since I finished the game but I believe he was shot for being in some shady deal? These are both harmful stereotypes, but I’m sure they weren’t intentional. People make mistakes, and learn from them! I can’t wait to try Angel Road and I’m looking forward to seeing any possible new games. Thanks for reading my crazy rambling, aha.
