  • Fun for a time

Great game, easy to learn, skippable tutorial (wonderful), no Ads (epic), good UI, feels balanced. I like the wandering hoard mechanic cuz it feels kind of creepy until you get guns lol.

I only have 2 issues with this game:

    1) Knife fighter A.I. is kind of annoying. Two or more dudes guarding the wall have a bad habit of ignoring the nearest zombie unless the other fighters are already preoccupied. So a fighter that’s furthest from the zombie is more likely to attack it than the fighter that’s already within range.

    2) There doesn’t seem to be a true end goal, new level, or New Game+. Once you’ve mastered winter and have unlimited survivors and resources, you get an overwhelming sense of “now what?” I wouldn’t mind having to gather a ton of certain resources in order to move like half or all of the survivors to a new, bigger, tougher location. Or starting a new game with a head start and mid or late game zombies once the outpost survives X-amount of days after upgrading the base to max level.

Since I can’t seem to go any further, I’ll be taking a break from this game. But I do plan on checking updates from time to time 👀

  • Really fun game

The game is pretty fun to play. No hard controls, no phone heating, very simple game. It is a tad frustrating when you first start off, because if you mess up your world gets deleted. But maybe two or three tries is all it takes to get hang of things and then the fun starts. I also found a bug that makes the game crash, but maybe it’s just me.

  • Outpost killed by a bug...?

So I died quickly in the first few playthroughs, but I learned more about the mechanics and tactics and eventually made it up to day 25 with 25 refugees.
Then I needed to expand my build plots and when adding a bit of wall, the new section of wall immediately started losing health rapidly. This was in the middle of the day, no zombies at all. At the same time, my workers wouldn’t go out, the gates kept shut, food ran out, wall health went to zero in a minute and all my work was gone..
Not nice at all and I’m still confused as to what ruined my game...

  • Great with a thing that could make it cooler

This game is a survival pixel 2d game witch is very unique but the thing I don’t like is you carnt repair the wall when it’s damage and my advise to the devs make a sandbox mode with things like mods but in the normal game I want to see a way to fix the walls and then I will play it much more
  • Food consumption

Great game, just a slight problem. The food is being consumed so much, even when the civilians are asleep. Who’s eating all the food at night? Or is billy just looking for a midnight snack? Please fix this.
  • Amazing game, but one problem...

This is a great game and I have been playing for awhile. I enjoy strategically building the town and collecting supplies. The pixel art style is exactly the kind of game I was looking for and I love the play style.

I have one problem though. When the zombies are damaging the walls, that's it. You can't repair the walls, (unless you upgrade them and they repair a little bit)
so if the zombies get through the wall, you are dead and have to start over unless you pay a dollar. You do all this work to build your outpost, and the wall just slowly dies.

    My way of fixing this:
Idea 1: You should maybe be able to fix the wall for a really high price, like one wall health for like 3 - 5 wood. When the wall is upgraded, it could cost more. If your wall breaks, then you could restart.

Idea 2: When the zombies breach your wall, maybe it shouldn't be an automatic death, but a few of your people die. If like 5 people die each time, you would have to try to get more back, and if all the people die, you should have to restart. You should loose more and more people the further you get into the game.

Thanks for reading my thoughts and I hope the creator can take this into consideration.

  • Too Much Grind

I got this game almost a year ago to have something to do at work during my free time. There have been changes at times, but one thing for sure that has stayed the same is the grind! You legit have put everyone to one thing just to get something done. You are extremely punished for having a big population without like 5 maxed farms. Tell me how every hour a real human would consume a whole meal every hour? What is worst is when I started to get to 100 days, I started getting the gun which I thought would help. Nope! It legit brings zombies faster to your wall and doesn’t even do enough damage to make a big difference. One last note; you unlock things in a backwards order. You can get the blacksmith, but need to wait to upgrade your workshop later to make a rifle or to upgrade your mine you need a ton of stone, but you can’t upgrade the storage any more till you upgrade the base which requires you to get even more stone so your forced to make a ton more storage. If you like a game where you have to force to focus on one resource, this is the game for you! Otherwise be prepared to restart several times and struggle to figure out how to fix the last mistake you made.

  • bug

This is a very good game. However, after the recent update, I experienced a bug where when morning comes, the zombies don’t go away on the top left wall and continue to damage it. My knife fighters don’t come in, my other workers won’t go out. Like I said, this is quite a fun game, but the glitches that happen make it a bit difficult.

  • Pay to win.

This game was well made, you have to multi task and figure out what you need. But with the new updates it’s become a pay to win game. Before this if the wall was breached you would lose a few survivors and you can continue on. Now you have to start from the very beginning or pay a dollar to continue and possible losing your wall again due to the hordes of zombies. That is just simply a money grab. So is the resources. Half of the workers have to be hunters because of you trying to get more survivors so you can get a lot more resources. But now you can’t get farmers in early game and mining makes it a lot more difficult to get a higher workshop just so I can have a worker who fixes the wall only to have the hordes destroy it that night due to the damage you took even if you upgrade your wall a lot. No one would pay a dollar just to get a little bit of wheat and some wood which is like 2 minutes worth of survivors working (if you even get farmers before you lose). The dev simply needs to learn to balance things and not make everything almost pay to win. Good game, not very good balancing.

  • Gone downhill

When it first came out it had a few bugs but it was a lot of fun and it’s simple mechanics made it awesome but it seems as they’ve over complicated it and made it more frustrating than fun and the level system is disappointing at best

You can make grain silos instantly but you can’t get grain until base level 3 or four

There’s no meat storage so you have to double down on hunters so the very small inventory doesn’t dwindle who soon become obsolete to farmers after some time

Although scavengers are the first characters you can get metal storage is on of the last making it something you’re constantly maxing out

The concept of miners and stone seems both useless and tedious and forced you to use manpower better used elsewhere

Although I had 8 knife guys on EACH wall my bad still fell wile I was trying to make the storage for 4,000 wood (the final upgrade) which would allow me to get snipers

All in all I can’t express how disappointed I am with the direction the game has chosen to take and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone in its current state
