Does not work all the time
Hit or miss when using … sometimes it connects most other times NOT!! Dangerous not knowing when you have brakes or not! WASTE OF MONEYDdbusch
Can’t get it to work with iPhone 11
Bought this controller and have used with my iPhone 8. Upgraded phones to the 11 and cannot get it to work and have tried everything! I kept my old iPhone 8 now, specifically to use this device.Puglove800
Works with some quirks
I was loathe to splice wire on my new truck so I tried this thing. This has actually worked well for me once I figured out a few things. I have a 2020 Ford Ranger, and if I change the lights to anything other than “auto” setting the trailer lights go kind of … haywire. Once I figured that out it’s worked fine, although it seems to have some issues reconnecting to my phone if it hasn’t been used in a while. It applies the brakes, is easy to adjust on the fly, and the manual activation works well.
I’ve never updated the app since I installed it 1.5 years ago, it seems most people have issues with the later versions. I plan on using it until it doesn’t work before upgrading.Show lessjbb94952
Works terrible on iPhones.
I recently switched from android to iOS and have used the brake controller with both. I had no issues on android, but have had nothing but issues on iOS. My first time using the app on my new iPhone it froze on the interstate requiring me to restart my phone after pulling over. On my most recent trips the brake controller itself seems to be not working as any power setting over “5” has begun to lock the breaks on my trailer (usually have it set at 30 to 45 depending on load and incline).Show lessjaceMT

Useless without the code
This was installed on my trailer when I purchased it. The “helpful” service person took the code sticker off the controller and put it on a card. I have subsequently lost that card. My controller became unpaired from my phone and I cannot re-pair. I was told I would have to buy a new system!1234junk
Minor then major problems
Since changing to an IPhone over a year ago, every time I try to use the Controller, I have to go through setup again. The first time this happened I had to delete the App and start over. That was very inconvenient because I was away from home at the time and spent half an hour getting connected. I use it 4 or 5 time a year so this may be due to updates. Revised: Now the App continually drops the bluetooth connection. Very frustrated.Show lessCharles7460
Junk
Drove 800 miles today. Probably had to reset this 40+ times. No exaggeration. Drove through North Dakota in an awful storm and anytime i went to press it it was disconnected. Absolute liability! Do not buy this. It’s a complete fail! Surprised there are not law suits to have this product recalled. It’s completely worthlessShow lessPro hockey guy
Dangerous
This brake controller came highly recommended to use with my small popup trailer. The first time I used it, it locked up my brakes on the highway after disconnecting from Bluetooth. Thank goodness I found a place to pull over because it caused my brakes to start smoking. This could have definitely causes a fire. I decided to reset things and try again - it worked ok a couple times out but then the app started going wonky again and would disconnect and lock the brakes. I returned the system and will go with hardwired brake controller. This kurt echo was unreliable and way too dangerous.Show lessSilver1389
What a waste of money
So to manually engage the trailer brakes you have to open the app and hit a button on the screen. How is this quicker then reaching down to a controller mounted to your under dash and manually sliding the lever? Da dadada dumb!Nuckin74
