Waiting for In-APP route planning!

Great app! I will be testing it in the last week of December 2024 and will provide more feedback after that. From what I’ve seen so far, I’m looking forward to the possibility of version that offers in-app navigation. The app allows you to plan your trip, showing where to stop and providing all the necessary details. It even fetches real-time data if your EV is connected. Ideally, you should be able to start the trip by simply clicking "GO." Currently, however, you have to select the first charger, choose Apple, Google, or Waze for navigation, and then leave the app to use those map services. You would do the same for each subsequent charger until you reach your destination. I understand that this requires a lot of development and testing, but Chargeway is very close to achieving this feature. Great work :-)

Need to account for Tesla SC’s for non-Tesla charging

I like what I see so far. The only issue I see is for non-Tesla cars that have access to Superchargers. It seems to identify all Tesla Superchargers and not just the ones available for non-Teslas with NACS DC adaptors. I noticed a local v2 Tesla Supercharger is listed but isn’t available for non-Tesla use. Maybe write the logic if your car isn’t a Tesla and has a NACS adapter only show v3 and higher SC or NACS adapter capable chargers only on the Tesla network. ie a Chevy Bolt EV with NACS adaptor will show Tesla compatible charging locations not non-compatible and compatible. Keep up the great work this is a definitely better than a lot of the other applications out there!

Excellent service

I had a question about the chargers suggested by the trip planner and reached out to Support. I got a response within 40 minutes from Brandan, with very detailed and personalized recommendations and screenshots for how to modify my settings. By far one of the best customer service experiences in my 55 years, and I’m a customer service trainer, so I can be very critical of service providers!! And the app works great too!

Great services, even greater support.

Personally this has been one of the best interactions with any company I’ve ever had. It’s still newer on the scene but they are by far the most knowledgeable about so many different aspects of ev ownership. Being super helpful and real human interactions have been such a refreshing experience.

Great interface

Love the set up of this app. Very intuitive with tons of filters to personalize just for your needs.

One question was does the built in calculator include elevation gain/loss and wind speed/direction when configuring the time of charge and how long you can travel?

Chargeway Saved my Life!

On my way back from Austin to Dallas, I typically stop in Waco to charge. All the chargers were broken, and thanks to this app I was able to find a ton of chargers around me that I didn’t even know existed. Chargeway literally saved me in a moment when I didn’t even know what to do. Thanks chargeway!

Best Charging App

Hands down the best charging app available right now. The user interface is easy to navigate, they’re always keeping charging station locations/data updated, and do a much better job at explaining charging levels than the other apps. This is truly the new standard in charging apps.

Nice design, mediocre functionality

Love the new design of the Chargeway app - Selecting my car with a beautiful image and all the site location photos are helpful.

I don’t think the route planning works very well, however. It takes forever to load and several times, I’ve mapped a route with 1 charging stop when I really needed 2 or more. Drivers rarely go at a consistent speed, and I’m not sure if this app accounts for elevation change or other variables yet that impact driving range.

I love the attempt at a numbering system, but it kinda feels like a new language instead of communicating in miles per kWh or miles per hour. Also, I see many drivers look for the highest number charger when their EVs can’t accept more than 50 kW! A faster charge isn’t always better. It needs to fit the car and intended visit time.

We appreciate the feedback! Regarding the trip planner calculations we do take into consideration elevation changes and other environmental factors, but if you are encountering a trip that does not appear to be calculating correctly definitely let us know. You can submit feedback directly to our team using the Contact Us tab in the Account screen. Our numbering system is more than static, it is calculating on behalf of each driver based on their EV. For example, each EV always shows its max power level next it on the station map. Whenever a station pin is selected our number system calculates the best charge time based on each EV and the station selected. This helps remind all drivers which power level they should use. We take this a step further in the trip planner by recommending the power level an EV should use at a suggested station to ensure drivers avoid using chargers that will not improve their charging experience. Easy trip planning

Better trip planner than most other apps. Very similar to what you find in the Tesla main display and mobile app. Tells you the stops and about how long you will be stationary charging. You can enter starting battery charge, AVG driving speed and temp to try and get a more accurate estimate. Will start using this instead of PlugShare for planning purposes.
