  • Great game but a few ridiculous limitations

I can understand a wait for donations but for their to be a limit each day is just not right... I would have this limit removed. Also, power stones should not have a time limit for when they are to be utilized, this isn’t right! This game is seeming to be more of a pay to play as I progress, and games like that are just not for me (or majority of free game players). Paying money should just help the progression and let you get an edge, not be the only way of progression. I will continue to play but if things get worse my review stars will change. Besides all of what I said, Terrific game and a great way to pass time! Thank you for reading. Sincerely ~ Jacob Holden

  • Simple Yet Fun

When I first got this game, I was a bit skeptical about it. After I played for just a few more minutes, I began to like the simple yet fun mechanics. The only thing I would suggest is to add some mechanic that allows a bit of hands on action in battle, like spells or something. Perhaps you get a limited number of spells per fight. That way it’s not always just hitting play and watching your army in its predetermined formation crush your opponent (which is plenty of fun) but sometimes just sitting back and watching your troops fight can get boring.

    Anyway, 100% recommend this game.

  • A second response, now to the people who say the game is just endless grinding

The point of the game is to build a army, fight, level up, and get more units to make your army better, you are supposed to constantly change your build in the game, if you are not doing that, then you are not playing the game properly, and if you are not smart enough to make good builds, then go to Reddit, the only real reason to not enjoy the game is not liking strategizing, if that’s the case, just acknowledge the game is good and that many people like it and walk away

Edit: also, to the pay to win crybabies: your build is trash, I didn’t pay a single cent and I’m rank 9 right now in my first account

  • Fun but full of tactics to try and tempt you to pay money.

This is a very good game but it’s full of very underhanded tactics to get you to pay money.

For example there is a cap on the amount of money you can earn through gameplay once you’ve got that you have to wait a full day before you can earn more in game currency without buying it with real money.

You will be matched with over levelled opponent with units you don’t get access to because you’re not the same level to try and tempt you into buying the loot boxes.

The game generously allows you to buy experience points unfortunately those points can’t be used unless you win matches another tactic of trying to get you to spend money on the loot boxes to improve your army to use the XP you’ve just bought.

Very good game but full of psychological tactics to temperature into spending money.

  • UNBALANCED

Unit placement means nothing considering you have no clue what you’re going up against, and unit placement seems to be the only skill required for you to even have a chance at climbing the impossible ranking ladder at higher levels. Unit placement being useless considering your have no idea what you’re up against makes winning or losing COMPLETELY centered around luck. This forces players to result to a much more meta-based way of playing the game, I noticed several *trends* of specific unit formations, rather than any hard thought out formations, that’s because whenever you try to think out a decent unit formation, you are most likely to be canceled out by the meta, or at least at higher levels. Criticism aside, game has a lot of potential, quite addicting most of the time, but incredibly flawed regardless.

  • Great game w/ 1 broken unit

Ignore the reviews saying that this game is difficult with everyone having higher levels than you. With the right tactics you can beat opponents with units 1 or 2 levels higher than yours. Overall a very fun and not grindy game. However there is one unit, the rouge, which is broken, as it teleports instantly onto your side of the map, is invisible, and one shots all the important units in the back and there is no unit which can stop it. And it stays invisible for so long it kills half your army before your units can even start attacking it. So besides the rouge the game is great and well balanced

  • Could have been great

This is a game that could have been great. It has all the elements. And the battles are so short that it’s hard not to do just one more. But the devs had their eyes too much on the freemium and the IAPs and... there’s just too much temptation to see how much you can inconvenience the user in order to make him pay you to stop it. There is a reward chest that costs a certain number of gems. It promises amazing rewards. There is a $30 IAP that will give you about ⅓ the gems you’ll need, and who believes that ANYONE has bought one of those chests by grinding. With regular gameplay, I get “commons”. I get just enough “rare”s to dupe me into buying them, but they’re level one in a world where all the opponents are throwing level 4-5 units. So I see these things in action and it’s impressive, but I can only field a level 1 version of it. Oh well. I should have known better. A shame too. The lure of IAPs was just too much for them to resist and they went for it, taking advantage of the people who cannot resist the dopamine reward of IAPs.

Spending money is in no way required to advance to even the highest ranks. If your progression has stalled and are encountering opponents with higher leveled units, it means that you have advanced further with good unit choice and placement. If you are encountering difficulties in getting the Unit Shards you want, then join a Clan. Actively request the Shards you want and donate the ones you do not need for Gold. Also, there will most likely be something that you might want to change in your army. Join our Discord where fellow Commanders will be happy to share tips on tactics and help you get your army progressing again. Thanks for the feedback!
  • Really Fun With Issues

This is by far my favorite game I have had the pleasure of playing on my iPhone 11. It’s simple controls make it easy for anyone to pick up and play. I do have a few issues. Characters are really hard to come by. I have noticed you get a lot of what you don’t use and less of what you do. I have also noticed I am constantly being put in battles against much higher players with way better characters. I understand all freemium games have in app purchases but I was expecting this to kick in later on in the game not right at the beginning when you are just getting introduced to the game, characters, and game mechanics. This makes the game very frustrating really quick and I am sure it turns away a lot of potential future players. The only other issue I have is the cost. It cost a lot and I mean a lot to upgrade just the common characters. I can’t even imagine how much gold it’s going to take to upgrade higher level rare cards. To me it’s a really fun game and concept thats ruined by a paywall!

Great to hear you like Battle Legion and thank you for the feedback. If you are encountering stronger armies, it means that you have progressed with superior unit choice and placement. If you are struggling to get the Unit Shards you need then do join a Clan. In a Clan you can request Unit Shards you want and donate Shards you do not need for Gold. The more active you are in a Clan the more Gold and Shards you get. Plus, on Sundays you can request Mythic Shards and get a much higher return for donating Mythic Shards. See you on the Battlefields!
  • Another game that doesn’t want you to play.

Whatever person that invented the whole “play for 20 minutes, get 3 chests that take a combined 20 hours to open one at a time” system should be kicked in the nuts. What’s the point in playing when you can’t earn new chests anymore? You just end up fighting tougher opponents without improving your own forces. It’s a terrible greedy game design. If I could pay $10 for the game and just have the chests open immediately forever this would be a pretty fun game. But no, they need to make the game as predatory as possible to try and squeeze a few thousand bucks out of some poor sap with bad impulse control. Shame on you all, I hope you all feel bad for making terrible games like this.

  • Great Idea

I wanted so hard to love this game but after investing so much time into it I have to say - it’s a lot tougher for all the wrong reasons. Winning is entirely luck based - I have seen battles turn against me in the blink of an eye simply because my troops were too stupid. My army would collapse as my entire ranged units would just focus fire 1 of the weakest guys on the battlefield, or whoever dared step closer and Leeroy Jenkins their way toward me effectively eating up 50% of my army. I saw so many effective strategies and tried to copy-cat those same techniques only for the AI of my army to continue to decide it didn’t want to work properly. This wouldn’t be a glaring issue if it weren’t for the almost expert marksman on the other side of the field. For whatever reason, the enemy always seems to have better awareness than my own. Again, love the game 4/5 - just be prepared, once you hit that wall it’s tough to climb out.

Thank you for the feedback. Strategy and placement are key to Battle Legion, many players have reached the highest rank in the game with very low level units, but a winning strategy. We change the metagame substantially every Era, this gives newer players and more veteran challengers to rise up the ranks, stagnant strategies will not get you far. Join our Discord from the 'Events' tab in your Camp, we're sure the Commanders there can get you advancing through the ranks again with some strategy advise. One of the most important things for steady army progress is to join a Clan that has an active shard donation community. This gives you a large amount of specific Unit Shards per day along with gold. While Wagons need to be unlocked, purchased or earned, a good Clan will reliably supply you with the Unit Shards you need and gold on top. We're also adding new game modes soon, which will feature more earneable rewards. Most important, have fun with the game!
