Does no good when the state doesn’t update the site
Moreso a state issue than an app issue I guess because the website / app isn’t update in a timely manner to show traffic/road closures. Getting better/up to date info using Maps/Google Maps/Waze/etc and listening to the local radio stations instead.
I-210
Would like to see a couple cameras put on I-210 loop.
Better to just call 511
App will not go past the welcome screen unless you give it permission to access your phone’s location info and allow the app to send you notifications.
Crap App!!!
Why do I need to agree that you are allowed to use my location and the information be given to others?
I just need to see a map with road closures. My location is irrelevant!!!!

Tracker.
Won’t open unless you agree to being tracked.
Video play problems
Since update, message that video can’t be played shows up. Video that does show is distorted and shows only a portion of the screen. When will this be fixed??
Camera… show video
Pure crap since the update.
You click on a camera, then show video; the video expands so much once you click it, most of it’s off the device. Cant even see the road much less traffic on the device’s screen.

Location alert
I would like to see the closest city/town on the texting alerts.
511 app
The app is very useful because I can see the traffic cameras and has alerts on the map but when I open the app it shows the New York 511 instead of Louisiana 511 but other than that it is great
The Update Is Terrible
First the old version didn’t update to this app. I down loaded an update and suddenly everything on the app stopped showing updates for traffic. Then after a week of no contact with the site according to the app, I go to Louisiana DOTD webpage, which is working fine. I start checking traffic on the webpage, figure an update will come out to fix the bugs on the app any day. No. I finally noticed while playing around on their webpage that the app icon looks different. Curious. I click on the link to get the app. It takes me to at App Store to a different app than I have, the new app being this one. Ok, I think problem fixed, but why didn’t they in someway let people know they needed to download a new app. Why didn’t the other app update. I have both apps of Louisiana 511 on my phone now, but the other one doesn’t show traffic or anything. That stuff was all just aggravating, but I could get past it.
The kicker is all the stuff this app lacks that the old one had. The Louisiana DOTD webpage says this app has the traffic cameras, but it does not. The old one did, and I could get still pictures or live video. The old app also had WAZE reports in addition to DOTD traffic reports. No WAZE reports on this one. Most of the traffic problems aren’t even showing up. There can be a slow down in traffic and congestion at the Mississippi River Bridge as alway, but it shows nothing. I don’t have cameras on here to check so I have to rely on map colors only. That’s the other thing with no green to show things are clear, it is difficult to tell what color things are sometimes. Other times you just don’t know if it’s not getting traffic updates or if things are actually clear. It would be nice to be able to tell the difference between clear/moving traffic area and no data available instead of no traffic data available looking like it’s clear.
