Lingo Needs Gender for Gemma!

Lingo provides a fun and thorough way to learn new vocabulary. But it does not included gender information! In German, this means you don’t know if the word must be preceded by der, das, die, den, dem, einen, einem, etc. German relies on gender articles to signify direct or indirect objects. If you leave them out you are just mumbling incoherently. My German teachers and German books stress the importance of leaning new vocab words AND their gender in order to be able to actually communicate in German! The iTranslate team has not committed to add gender to the Vocab list. I am wondering if they are leveraging a free Open Source vocab list and so don’t want to spend the time or effort to improve their software? :-( This is a serious oversight for a paid subscription tool. Please join me and tell the iTranslate team to get off their butts and add an essential feature that their users must have to be able to learn a new language!

I wish I could change languages

It said I had to PAY! To switch and not even 10 seconds in and I already have an add. I wish I could rate this 0 stars but I can’t. So what happened was I already learned all the Chinese words in school do I thought I could switch after no even one full lesson but I can’t. I wanted to take German or something else but I can’t. Will not be recommending this up to anyone.

😤

You only get one lesson until it tells you to get pro, I waited a day and it still says to go pro, even if you tap the x and try to tap lesson again it’ll just say pro again

Response from developer

Greetings, We are sorry you are unhappy but the subscription is only for PRO, an upgrade for the app. The normal app is free. Additionally we offer a free trial of the PRO upgrade if you want to test these features. -iTranslate Team

App Store description is misleading

The App Store description mentions 23 languages, including Arabic, but Arabic is not in the list of languages available to choose once the app is installed?!?

Response from developer

Greetings, we are sorry for any confusion. The supported languages means that the app's language could change with your iPhone's system languages for those 24 languages (English and 23 more). This information is universal for all the apps in App Store. However, in the Preview part of our app, we have clearly listed all the 14 languages we support at this moment, and unfortunately Arabic is not one of them. -iTranslate Team

Good, but...

I’m only giving this app a 3 star because of these reasons:

1) On the good side, this app is great for quick and easy lessons to expand your vocabulary. It has a good concept.

2) It is extremely limited for a language-learning app. If you are thinking about using this as a vocab refresher, then that’s fine. However, this app can’t stand alone in teaching you any deeper than that.

3) It’s not free? At least, I thought it was! I can’t access anymore lessons! Not even one. After a time of using the app, they softlock you into buying their PRO upgrade, which in my opinion, may not be worth it compared to the competitors.

Slow and steady wins the race

So I just upgraded to the pro version of this app. I like that it teaches me four new words daily with the option of moving ahead, but I hope that as time progresses, the app will teach me sentences, and not just single words.

Read this Review before downloading! ❤️

Honestly as soon as I got the app I thought I would learn French.. but it only lets you have 3 lessons and I find that abit cruel people came to the app to learn not to download the free trial honestly I hate apps like this but this translater is the best I’ve seen so far. If anybody has a Translater for me I would love to download it!

Thank you for your time
Not going to say my name

Language options

Hi, are you likely to add further languages soon? I am interested in learning Greek

Response from developer

Greetings, Thank you for your review! At the moment we do not offer this language. We will add it to our users’ wish list. -iTranslate Team

Free version doesn’t work!!

I really really want to use this app but the free version doesn’t work... I try starting a lesson and it immediately asks me to subscribe to the PRO version then when I exit the pop up it takes me back to the main screen and I can’t start/continue my lesson! Half the reason I downloaded this app was because it is free, why not state it as a paid app from the start?

Meh...

Why i gave you 1 star, is not because of other flaws that people may have complained about but because of the fact that you can only take 1 lesson, and then nothing more. Otherwise, the app would honestly be great for learning a new language. I hope that you change this into something better, and listen to our complaints. Also, there is a 7 day trial, but then you have to pay, and my phone doesn’t let me pay for anything so i’m forced to accept the fact that i can only take 1 lesson and can’t even get that free trial. Please change this soon, please.
