  • Try this app, you won’t regret it!

    I had heard about Carbon last year, but didn’t finally decide to stop dragging my feet and try it until a few months ago. I knew that I needed to do something, but the idea of tracking seemed like a daunting task. As a single father of four, working full-time, and just the regular stressors of life, I wasn’t sure I could do it…but I was wrong. This app is more than just a Calorie Tracker. It’s incredibly intuitive, and will absolutely become what you need it to be based on your needs and goals. I’ve used it for 6 weeks, and have lost over 20lbs. I don’t feel like I’m on a “diet” because, I’m really not. I eat the foods I want, in moderation to stay within my Macros. I hold myself accountable, and measure out portions properly so that I’m no longer overindulging. Until you track and measure, you really have no idea how many calories you’re taking it. Meals that you may think are ‘healthier’ can often be way higher in calories than you imagined. It takes the guess work out of this, you will actively have, in real-time, the knowledge of what you’re consuming. And that makes all the difference on your health and fitness journey.

  • Was skeptical but love it

    I read some other reviews that said this didn’t have a lot of items the individual scanned. It made me hesitant, but I decided to give it a try for a month. 7 months later I’m still using it and loving it. It was a little difficult to learn to count macros in the beginning. But that was hard for me, nothing to do with how well the app works. I’ve seen amazing results when I didn’t know if counting macros would actually help. Surprise! It did. I’ve hit all my goals. Food items are almost always there when I scan. (I buy a lot from Costco and Walmart.) The main differentiator on this app compared to others is the coach that adjusts the macros and calories according to your weight changes at your weekly check-in. I switched over to the weight trend algorithm a few months ago that was in beta, and it resolved all my concerns about finicky fluctuations (I have IBS, so I can struggle with exact weight amounts). Absolutely love the app.
  • Great app but missing some basic functions and regular updates

    I really love this app. it works well and I love the a clean interface. My main issues are that the developers have barely added any improvements or new functionality since it launched. A subscription based model should support continuous improvements. Additionally some very basic functions are missing that would improve ease of use greatly, namely the ability to drag entries on the timeline between meals, and to duplicate recipes. The ability to import recipes would also be a huge improvement. It would be great to have greater compliance ranges for carbs and fat if calories and protein are hit, and also support a fiber goal. Also the macro planner feature should allow you to set the actual numbers for each macro on a day to day basis instead of just calories when you are in manual mode.
