  • Perfect way to stay on top of new releases

Web services and apps have come and gone so I’ve had to switch around to different platforms over the years to try and keep a heads up on new releases. Now that I found MusicHarbor I hope it sticks around forever and I never want to switch to anything else.

The integration with my library, the ease of parsing down my list of artists to I want to track and the ability to add tracks directly from the app into new or existing playlists is just stellar.

But on top of all that, the ability to play previews of music tracks directly in the app is a game changer. It’s the closest thing I’ve had in this digital world now that reminds me of perusing record shops back in the day when you could test listen in the shop.

Thanks for all the great experiences thus far as well as the ones to come!

Thank you so much for this amazing review!
  • Great updates

First off, the developer is always making improvements that truly polish up the user experience. Active development is key as is the more personal touch from the developer to explain the changes.

Secondly, after using it for a year or so, I find it indispensable for music information about the artists I want to know more of. Great stuff.

  • Local library import fixed

The issue with failing to import the local library has been fixed, so I’m updating to increasing the rating. The app looks good so far, but I haven’t used it enough yet to give it a real review. Just wanted to quickly update my low rating. Thanks to the developer for fixing.

(Previous review: Artist import from my local music library does not work. On first startup, the app offers to import artists from my local library. I have a huge library, but the app tells me that all the artists in my library have already been added. Which they haven’t, since no artists have been added yet. That pretty much makes the app useless for me if I want to follow more than a handful of artists.)

  • MusicHarbor is fantastic...and it’s only getting better!

I have been using this app since the very beginning. The developer has always remained committed to providing the absolutely best product for users. Any bugs experienced are always fixed in a timely manner, and new features are worthwhile and never slow down the app.
  • My favorite way of tracking new releases from my favorite artists! BUT, there’s a problem…

I highly recommend music fans download this app and use it to preview and save new releases from your favorite artists!
However, although notifications for new releases are advertised as a feature, this has never worked for me. I’ve had the app for several months, upgraded to all paid benefits, and made sure my Notification Center settings are all checked for this app. However, I’ve never once received a notification.
THe reason I’m posting only 3 stars is because after reporting the issue to the developer, he was very dismissive. I found that deserved a lower rating, and a review—explaining my experience.
I guess: don’t expect notifications to work, and don’t expect the developer to care?

  • This isn’t the correct artist

I’ve noticed that singles from other artists (who I don’t know and do not follow) with a similar name or the same name are appearing under the name of the real artist. For example, the artist QUIÑ, there is a rapper with the name “QUIN” and his music is showing up under her releases. The same thing has happened with Offset and I’m sure it is happening with other artists as well. I don’t know who these people are, but they pop up as if I’m following them. Please fix this.

  • Great alternative to Record Bird

Use this weekly to catch all the releases that the impeccably designed Apple Music UI chooses to bury. This imports your artists from Apple Music, and even backs up your feed to iCloud so it’s saved across other devices. In-app purchases and upgrades seem worth it, but it’s 100% usable if you chose not to.

  • Amazing but...

Good app but you guys need to add “Appears On” to the app. There’s a lot of music we’re missing out on. Not sure if it’s possible but an option to add all the new songs to our library at once rather individually would make this app one of the best on my phone.
Great job guys - I’ve been looking for an app like this for years.

  • App I’ve been wishing for

This is an essential app for those who are passionate about music. I’ve been searching for an app like Music Harbor for years, and it feels as though it was created just for me :) If you’re growing tired of missing new releases, download this app.

This app represents the gold standard for all who are passionate about music. I only wish that I could support said app more via a tip jar or subscription.

  • App shouldn’t auto-play music

If you leave the app and come back, the music should pause. Especially if you had headphones in at first, switched to another app, and then came back to the app without headphones on.

Pause button did not show up until I clicked another song, causing confusion since I was looking for said button. Eventually I just stared mashing stuff until the pause button showed up.

Maybe also just set an inactivity timer. If app hasn’t been active app in 5 minutes, pause. Probably should always pause because of people are that into the album, they should listen in Apple Music.

Hi Charles, That's certainly a valid feedback, thank you! I'll try to release a quick fix in the next app update, so it pauses the preview when switching to another app. The Player experience will also be improved, but that's going to need a little more time though.
