■ Add to Playlist • When the 'Allow Adding to Multiple Playlists' setting is enabled, clicking on a playlist no longer adds music to the selected playlist instantly, but waits until you are done with choosing all your playlists and click ‘Save’. • Enabled playlist searching when the Add to Playlist screen is set to view as Home. ■ Displayed Metadata • Added “Accent” for the Color setting option that automatically uses your chosen accent color for the metadata color. ■ Player • Added the option to hide Full-Player artwork. • Added the option to edit Displayed Metadata for the Queue Songs. Set up from Marvis Settings → Player → Queue → Displayed Metadata. • [Last.fm] Displayed Metadata for Mini-Player & Full-Player now supports Global Scrobbles, Listeners Count, and My Scrobbles for Albums, Album Artists, and Artists in addition to previously being available only for Songs. ■ Smart Rules • The “Maximum Items” limit rule now lets you choose the media type for which you want to limit the number of items. For example, in a song-based section, you can now apply a maximum 3 artists limit and it’ll show songs from 3 artists only. • Remember, having a sort rule before your limit rule helps you to apply a limit on your given sort criteria. For example, having a shuffle sort before a 25-song limit will provide you with 25 random songs. ■ More • Enabled the ability to drag media selections outside of Marvis, so that you can seamlessly drop content out of Marvis and to apps like MusicBox which have support for drop to import. • Fixes and improvements.

Reviews of Marvis Pro

  • Better music player than default, resets custom settings all the time.

The title says it all. In my opinion there are a number of ways Marvis is better than the stock music app, aside from apple-enforced limitations. One of my favorite features of the app is Live Activities for the next song that will play. I also love love love the amount of customization you can do in the app.

So why two stars? My settings fully reset themselves on a regular basis. This means on a regular basis, I have to import my settings that I had already saved, then go to each and every subscreen on the app to correct my grids and sorting and etc. Plus, the act of sorting and choosing your grid only applies once to the same section. This means on your home page, you can have it show your albums, and from there you could set your grid to sort by date and have a 5-wide grid. But, in the sidebar’s albums panel, your custom settings are not applied. Meaning for each section on your home page, you have to set it up twice.

There’s a lot to like here, but having to go so in-depth fixing every setting all the time is absolutely ridiculous. I get that there are system limitations on certain aspects of the music playing experience, but I have never used an app aside from Adobe that routinely just throws your settings in the trash. I don’t know what has to be done to fix it, but it makes using Marvis a real pain.

    Developer Response

Glad to know you’ve been enjoying Marvis, sad to hear you were facing issues related to settings getting reset to default. The latest update aimed to fix that particular issue so it shouldn’t probably happen from now on. About the settings import, once you make the necessary changes, you should re-export the settings so you don’t have to make the changes again, as you may be using an older settings backup. To export settings go to Marvis Settings → Advanced → Export Settings. Thanks for reviewing.
  • Number One Scrobbles for Apple Music!

So much greatness about this App, I could spend a while talking about it. The simple fact for me and single best feature is the Last FM Scrobbles. The detailed information it shows on your music is unmatched. The immediate link to everything in the Apple Music App is excellent. Awesome App! I came back to add, I knew nothing, so many more features its phenomenal ! You really need to dig in, but that is what makes it so awesome, you'll soon realize as I have, that Marvis is hands down the single best App on iOS Im not kidding, I'd rather have Marvis than settings if I had to choose 😂
