  • Excellent app

This is an excellent app. It gives you access to up to the minute information about gravity waves. I hope the folks in charge of the NANOGRAV experiment will make a similar app.
  • SCIENCE!

Undergrad physics student here working in the field - It's amazing how much more sensitive LIGO has become compared to the already impressive handful of events per year in O2, and it's delightful to get these notifications multiple times a week. Very fun!
  • Moving forward

    Great technology great data reports
  • Universe calling!

That my iphone vibrates at the same time as astronomers around the world are being alerted is beyond cool.
I use the app almost daily to check which detectors are on line. I also use the seismometers to monitor world wide earthquakes. LIGO has some of the best to know when the earth is quiet enough for gravity wave science.
I think the communications on the app are mostly for professionals and simple questions will get referred to the excellent list of links. Sometimes a pro will answer questions not found in faqs, but it think it was not intended as a big public chat group. I thank the author for allowing the public a front row seat to the events and science going on.

  • For Professional and Amateur Astrophysicists

As an amateur astrophysicist this app has brought the science of gravitational wave detection to me. The real time alerts are exciting and with the links to more information, along with the ability to chat with others within the app, I have learned so much. This app makes the cutting edge science tangible and first person. LIGO’s entire Open Science commitment is incredible.

  • O4

Looking forward to a successful start of O4 and with it this app coming alive again.
  • Best way to follow GW science!

This app works great and is improved often.
  • Love this app to tracking the latest GW

I am not an astronomer but I use this app several times a day.

This app is easy to use.

    Few more suggestions.

    1. Should be okay to delete/hide event by swiping to the right. Like some email app.

    2. Maybe mark different events by colors?

    3. Add personalized filter to see a certain event like BNS only :)

    Update on 1.9.1

Thanks for updating. Here are few more suggestions:

    1. Add delete function to each event. And there should be no update once related event been deleted.

    2. Maybe link user event comments to each related event.

  • Armchair physicists unite!

What an amazing idea! Cannot wait to see what’s in store from LIGO and the depths of our universe! Let’s go!
  • Love this app

While I am not an astronomer or astrophysicist, I am delighted that the scientific community created an app to allow ordinary people like myself to share in the potential discovery of new GW events. While the communications are very technical, I look forward to seeing new events.
