Basic and barely functional
I just wish someone at Rinnai could just look at a normal scheduling application like NEST. The schedule process is so basic you have no choice but to us the wall control. The wifi unit will only do 2.4GHz band so is old school, and the app needs to reconnect each time you open it. Zones cannot be renamed, scheduling display is barely 1990 standard and the app just assaults you with flashing icons, fans, flames and warnings. Needs a rewrite.

Outdated
The Rinnai Touch app experience has been very disappointing, particularly given the high cost of the required hardware module. The app’s design feels outdated, with a frustrating user experience plagued by bugs.
One major issue is that the app’s remote control feature, a key reason for using it, has recently stopped working outside the home.
This shift suggests that Rinnai may not be maintaining security updates or investing in software improvements, leaving users with limited functionality. For the price, I’d expect a more reliable, user-friendly app that Rinnai keeps up-to-date.

Horrible
When we first had the system installed the app would allow cloud connection, but after a software update about 12 months ago this feature no longer works. So, essentially we've now got an app to control out heating/cooling that you can only use from within the WiFi range. Pretty pointless when I've got wall mounted NC-6 controllers in 3 zones of the house.
The whole idea of the app is that you can set the temperature from anywhere so you can come home to a climate controlled house.
There's no support from Rinnai. It's as though they know it's rubbish and have given up.

Rinnai - Brivis WiFi Rinnai - bad app
There are numerous failing with this app. It is very difficult to link the app with the touch controller. I need to get technical assistance from my son (software engineer) as dealing with brivis Rinnai phone assistance was hopeless he had no idea.
This issue is the device is set to AP mode (access point) to link to it. The smartphone (iPhone 14 Pro) sees this as a security threat. Had to turn off every security feature in the phone to get the app to link with the controller. After its linked it’s secure as AP mode is off and the network sees it as a wifi device.
It has no functionality to link to Google home etc. does not display the current temperature of the room as per brochure just what it’s set at.
In general is very poor for the cost with nonexistent support or improvement by the developer.

It’s Impossible to get working!!!!
Dated technology when it came out and in the past 3 yrs we have had the system there has been no updates.
We now have a new router and needed to reconnect the control module. I can connect to the wifi hub but never to the module
Talk to Rinnai and their response Duuno 🤷♂️

Help to Saves on power cost
Works great. Might be ancient technology for some but still an awesome add on as it’s great to be able to control your old cooling and heating systems from virtually any where around the world.
Needs more features
Works ok, but could be much better.
Useful for turning heating on or off when not at home. Can also turn zones on and off and also adjust temperature, but that’s it.
Really should be able to program schedules, without this feature the wifi module is really not worth the $400 cost.

Primitive & Lacks Functionality
This is laughable technology in 2024. All the app allows is basic on / off via a phone, with no smart home integration or capacity to set or adjust a program. Also impossible to obtain support or speak to anyone who knows how it works or what upgrades are in development.
Many other superior 3rd party thermostats & apps… don’t waste your money on this overpriced high-school project.

Cloud no longer works after latest update
Cloud no longer works after latest update. I had to configure with an old Samsung S10 + to connect to the module and setup. I can only use the software locally because the cloud no longer works i.e. over 5G. Rinnai please test before you distribute the software to us all!
App clunky and unstable
When it’s operational this app works fine, although it seems to need a lot of “think” time to make temperature adjustments.
Unfortunately it frequently goes down and can only be made functional again by deleting the app and reinstalling- a very annoying and time-wasting activity.
