Best prep for flying
Misleading!
This is as expensive as the real ground school. Why in the world should I use this app instead of ongoing into a classroom which gives me the option to repeat it if I fail the exam for out, I don’t even know if the app is good and my rating is for the misleading information to get people to install which may be a loss of time for some. Also, this review window doesn’t work unless you thinker . The typing panel doesn’t come up automatically when you try to type in to the boxes. Apple should spend more time finding out about these problems, then collecting huge amounts of money from the vendors.

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like most of it is better-directed at Apple rather than us as the app maker. Those frustrations are certainly understandable. Unfortunately on the App Store, the only way we can offer a free trial is by making the download itself “free.” It’s certainly not our intent to mislead anyone, but we’re subject to the same regulations and mechanics for App Store subscriptions like every other app on the store. Either way, thank you for checking out the app, and for your understanding and support!
Excellent Ground School
I like Jason, app doesn’t hold up to competition
Ground section leaves much to be desired when compared to King which I also used. Many sections are just links to the PHAK and AFM with a summary. No videos or, memory aids, or value added to the FAA material. Some of the answers provided to the study questions are just flat out wrong.
Cool concept, nice user interface, but the competition is both more complete and cheaper.

Thanks for the feedback! We really appreciate hearing about your experience because we're deeply invested in making Ground School better every day. First, we definitely want to hear about any errors in the study questions. If you could please send us any details you can recall (support@learnthefinerpoints.com), or even better use the "Report" button on the question screen, we would really like to look into those. That being said, for the majority of folks who email us about perceived errors in the questions, we end up being able to show them why the given answer is actually correct. We appreciate the feedback about referring to the FAA books for the material. Our goal here is to make sure pilots are familiar with the process of finding information independently, as that's a skill every pilot will have to exercise at minimum for their Oral Exam and likely many times throughout their life as a pilot. We are not asking pilots to hunt; we invest a lot of time finding the exact page to reference, and then deep-link directly to it. We believe it's important and are trying to avoid "reading the book" to our students. However, we will take note of this and look for places we can strengthen our own material and reduce the level of dependence on direct links to FAA resources. Thanks again for taking the time to write about your experience! We always appreciate hearing feedback like yours, so that we can continue to improve the product and help folks along their aviation journeys.
Best ground school available
It’s by far the most in depth, scenario based training and complete app that I have seen and truly recommend it for anyone that apart from preparing for a written test (that it does and really good) want to get the knowledge to become a sharp and safe pilot.
The best out there
Best of the best
It will make your learning quicker and better. It is for US FAA but what is taught in here is valid everywhere. Moreover it will prevent you to fall into one of those loops that if you don’t catch it and correct fast enough it will make sure it will be serving you pain later on your journey.
And if you are already a pilot you know you will never stop studying never stop learning, ever. This is the app to have and spend some hours every week. Refresh a concept. Address an issue. It will help you staying ahead and make sure you don’t miss or forget things learnt.
PS Can’t wait for the instrument course part release.
Great for the Rusty Pilot
TFP’s Ground School has been a tremendously valuable resource for me. I especially appreciate Jason’s approach with the flight training in this program.
His Brief/ Fly / Debrief presentation on flight training is informative and engaging. His use of various cameras in the cockpit help reinforce the points he’s making - it really does feel like you’re getting personal lessons from him.
The price of this app is a bargain for someone like me who wants to get the rust knocked off, become more proficient, and to approach flying with a professional mindset. Jason has put together a great training tool with this app.
