Absolutely the best video player I’ve used on iOS/iPad. The UI is thoughtfully well design and easy to use. There is absolutely no feature bloat while still maintaining all the necessary features. The best app I have used for streaming
The app is flawless the hi is perfect and the gestures are god sent. Continue the hard work. I would have one request would be to have more features for the advanced and the ability to play another video without having to close the previous one.

Flawless hardware decoding
Edited because it now has HDR support, yay!
Compared to VLC, this app hardware decodes more often than not with supported codecs (VLC sometimes inexplicably doesn’t with 10bit HEVC files [device heats up] that this app can decode with hardware). It’s simplistic design is wonderful and I don’t feel compelled to dive into the settings and micromanage everything. What would make it even more of an essential video player is if true HDR output could be added, or at least it doesn’t work properly on the SE3. There’s an argument to be made that the benefits of HDR are limited on a simple LCD display, but when playing back HDR-encoded content like Sony’s Swordsmith demo in the system Files app, it will display in HDR mode as denoted by an HDR icon on the top left and the peak brightness and color gamut seem just a bit better compared to how it looks in this app and VLC (which also messes up the color, presumably from not getting the color gamut right). Ignore what I said about casting, I forgot you had to mirror screen using AirPlay for that to work.Show lessnooneinpar7

There are other video players much better this incl: AVPlayerHD (9/10), VLC (free 8/10), Air Video HD (10/10 for streaming videos over LAN, local network I.e. from your iMac or disks attached to it to your iPad or iPhone).
I’ve used AVPlayerHD in combination with FileBrowser (connect to Cloud Drives. FileBrowser has inbuilt streaming support to all major video players) & I use Air Video HD most often as I store videos on my hard drives attached to my IMac & simply stream them to my iPad and then onto my TV using Apple TV & AirPlay, it’s perfect!Show lessBazzaMadness

Full Version Is Pretty Awesome
For less than a sandwich and a drink you can get a player that is pretty full featured. The enhanced video really does upscale and looks great on my 85” Vizio Flat Screen. On the fly frame seeking is flawless on my 12 Pro and my 10th gen iPad Pro. I haven’t had it for that long but I’m liking it better than the paid versions V** and OutPla*** . Again without doing my research… I’m hoping that I can set a frame capture for the key frame or icon preview, I’m also hoping that it will have or one day get remote capability. So if I’m playing my IPad Pro on the tv or on my receiver that I can skip or navigate files for play using my iPhone like V** Remote does. Folder browsing wasn’t self evident or super straight forward like I’d hoped. I haven’t figured out how to get to my Alo** Web Browser files or my filebrow***GO files yet but I’m sure it’s possible and hopefully without having to create a duplicate file compressed or not in the home or corresponding media folder of OPlayer. I haven’t looked to see if it does gestures yet not necessarily through the front facing camera although some may like that. And I didn’t see a chromecast icon or airplay icon on the video window as I’m used to seeing but was able to screen mirror with zero drops so far over a short haul 5Ghz connection running either lossless audio or 4k. That in and of itself makes it a no brained for me as some other apps choke on the data from mkv or the tv is fed incorrectly. Oh maybe a feature request it’d be sick to have a visualizer for the audio or have the possibility to mix videos or mix videos and visualizers!
