Flawless hardware decoding, but HDR?

Compared to VLC, this app hardware decodes more often than not with supported codecs (VLC sometimes inexplicably doesn’t with 10bit HEVC files [device heats up] that this app can decode with hardware). It’s simplistic design is wonderful and I don’t feel compelled to dive into the settings and micromanage everything. What would make it even more of an essential video player is if true HDR output could be added, or at least it doesn’t work properly on the SE3. There’s an argument to be made that the benefits of HDR are limited on a simple LCD display, but when playing back HDR-encoded content like Sony’s Swordsmith demo in the system Files app, it will display in HDR mode as denoted by an HDR icon on the top left and the peak brightness and color gamut seem just a bit better compared to how it looks in this app and VLC (which also messes up the color, presumably from not getting the color gamut right).

Ignore what I said about casting, I forgot you had to mirror screen using AirPlay for that to work.

The best

I tried a lot of players but I found this one perfect for video watching.

Good Update

That you for changing the volume indicator! The old design was annoying. And the video name and screenshot menu in the upper right. Nicely done!

Super fast, easy to use and intuitive.

Very easy to use and snappy video player with thoughtful features. I personally like saving screenshots of certain videos and this app actually has a native screenshot button, which makes it way easier than using your phone side buttons to set up the screenshot!

One of the best player out there

Would be five stars if they add video sorting options like sorted by added time or file size.

Needs more features

5 stars if you could ad an option to make the progress bar on the bottom or an option to change amount you can skip. (double tab sides?)

incredible player! Thank you

This is a great player - very smooth playback with lots of support. Even without AirPlay / Chromecast support it is still no. 1! Thank you for not being subscription based!

Problem Free Video Player

Plays videos from sd card via adaptor on iPad perfectly.

Just what I was looking for

MPV based application on iPhone

Good player with good dev

Played HEVC perfectly when nplayer and vlc are both stuttering.
I am using a M1 iPad pro, so I think it is the mov backend making this work so well.
