1.5.3

July 26, 2023

This update improves the experience if you only grant limited photo library access. It also fixes some issues with the interface on very small phones. Of course it also contains all the awesome stuff from our big 1.5 release! --- We're excited to launch this major update to Spectre, allowing you to capture long exposures up to 30 seconds! We've also improved support for the latest Apple devices. This upgrade is FREE to anyone who has already purchased Spectre. We're also adding a "Pro" unlock within the app that adds a few more goodies, such as a custom icon. Again, if you've already purchased Spectre, this doesn't unlock any new capture features. If you already paid for Spectre, upgrading to Pro just unlocks a few perks as a small thank you for supporting Spectre's continued development. We're excited to get this update out there, and we'd love to hear your feedback. Please let us know what you think by emailing support@lux.camera, or message us on BlueSky, Mastodon, Threads, Instagram, Twitter, or aldis lamp. And don't forget to tag your photos #SpectreShot for a chance to be featured! — Team Lux

1.1.10

January 15, 2021

This small update fixes a few bugs in iOS 14.3. If you’re running an iPhone 12 Pro Max, you’ll find that the telephoto lens now properly displays 2.5x instead of 2x. If you have any bug reports or general feedback, please let us know at support@lux.camera.

1.1.9

September 21, 2020

If you're upgrading to iOS 14, this update should fix a problem with the status bar not disappearing after you review your photos. It also fixes an issue that might pop up from setting photo library permissions to "Limited." We apologize if you run into an issue running Spectre for the first time after upgrading; you may be shown the opening tutorial launch, and then prompted for photo library permissions. The surprise release of iOS 14 caught us a bit off guard, so a bug fix didn't make the cut. We promise to do a better job planning around these surprises in the future. Unrelated, we have some exciting things to announce in the next few weeks. Make sure you're following @halidecamera on Twitter!

Description of Spectre Camera

Apple iPhone App of the Year, 2019 Introducing Spectre, from the makers of Halide, one of the top camera apps in the App Store. Spectre uses AI to help you make amazing long exposure photographs. Spectre can remove crowds, turn city streets into rivers of light, make waterfalls look like paintings, and much more. Until now, it was difficult to take long exposures: from keeping the camera steady to guessing the amount of light you need. Spectre takes care of all of that! WHAT YOU CAN DO • MAKE CROWDS DISAPPEAR: Spectre helps take photos of crowded, touristy places. Simply set a medium or long duration and take a shot to erase the crowd from a location. Capture the those special moments like you remember them. • RIVERS OF LIGHT: At night, AI scene detection automatically switches modes to draw beautiful light trails, for stunning nighttime city photography or light painting. • GORGEOUS WATER: Capture waterfalls, ocean waves, fountains and more with beautiful ghostly water. LIVE PHOTOS AND VIDEO Spectre’s intelligent computational shutter takes hundreds of shots over the span of a few seconds, and saves them in an accompanying live photo. That means you can pick a different frame as your photo, apply live-photo effects, and even use the long exposure as a live-wallpaper! ENDLESS SMARTS Spectre is a packed with powerful technology from by the team that brought you Halide. From machine learning-based scene detection to computer vision aided image stabilization, Spectre is jammed full of impressive technologies to get the best possible image. DESIGNED FOR HUMANS Spectre is meticulously designed. Its dark UI is gentle on the eyes when you shoot at night. Gorgeous glowing highlights infuse it with a unique style. Custom typefaces and iconography combined with unique, smooth controls make it as tactile and delightful as an actual physical camera. Like its sister app Halide, the app is easily usable with one hand, even on the largest iPhones. HIGH-TECH SHOWCASE Build with the latest tech, Spectre isn't just a long exposure camera — it’s the cutting edge technology showcase of one of the App Store’s foremost camera apps, Halide. Here’s just a few of the latest technologies that we use in Spectre: - DCI-P3 Wide Color Pipeline - Live Photos - Metal Graphics Acceleration - Tripod Detection - Siri & Shortcuts - AI Stabilization - Machine Learning & CoreML - Computer Vision COMPATIBILITY: Spectre’s smart Automatic Scene Detection requires iOS 12. AI-based stabilization features are available on iPhone 6S and later.* For the best experience, we recommend iPhone 8 or later. On iPhone 6, Spectre captures in lower resolution. • Gladly Purchased Pro, Thank You

Because I dig this app a lot and because you didn’t go the unethical route and turn this app into another unwarranted subscription plan. Well, I was more than glad to just make the Pro purchase. Thank you for not being immoral scum and just adding a Pro option to help support development instead of ruining this app with another pointless subscription. If you want to add another in-app purchase that isn’t a subscription in the future I will gladly purchase that as well. I’m so very angered that you ruined Halide with a subscription. But, since you didn’t do that here I’m more than glad to show my appreciation and support and I would recommend other users do the same to show gratitude for a very rare and upstanding move on the part of an App Store developer. Thank you for being a normal, non-greedy developer in this instance. You’ve won back some of my respect that you justifiably lost with what you did to Halide. Thanks and God bless. I mean it, too, if you handle the monetization of your apps in this ethical manner I will always be glad to support you. And, I’d separate my review into multiple paragraphs like an normal person. But, for whatever asinine reason that I cannot fathom. Apple, condenses all of my reviews, regardless of having separate paragraphs, into a single paragraph every time. So, no point in trying to maintain grammatical order when they are just going to screw it up every time.
  • Whoa . Very impressive! Love this.

Just tried the demo version on a couple shots on 3 second mode ..and .. Whoa! Then bought full version a few minutes later for longer exposures. Oh man, very cool! Love this software. Looking forward to using it on my travels to create some awesome shots. But caveat.. this will only work well in certain composed shots in certain lighting conditions.. but really going to save me time otherwise spent create same effects manually.
  • Garbage

Worst camera app that I and many others have used. I see a lot of the 5 star reviews sound like they are talking about a different app so I guess it’s true what people are saying, you are using paid review services. Every article written about this app talks about how this is the best camera app ever, yet any person who isn’t in a position to be bribed into making a fake positive review has nothing good to say about it. I don’t think that’s a coincidence. I’ve also seen you be sarcastic and rude to negative customer reviews “okay I’ll update the app to make your hand more steady”. What kind of human garbage treats their customers (that they just scammed) like that? They gave you money for an app that doesn’t work and you’re gonna disrespect them? Don’t buy, and don’t waste your time.
