Fun and well made!
This game is almost perfect. The UI is easy to use and the starter tribes let you try different ways of playing. I have maxed out Hann and Arabis, but I wish there was multiplayer or a way to team up with others. Different map types would be nice because it is almost impossible to win when the game puts you on a tiny island with two cities and no artifacts. Other than that, I would highly recommend!

Pretty Polytopia knock-off with more limited replay value
My main beef with Polytopia is the limited replay value. With no high score list (not even locally!), very limited achievements, and no online competition, there’s just no reason to keep playing. That’s related to my second complaint which is that it’s just too easy. I quickly got three stars with laurels with every tribe. I can often take over the world in half the allotted time. The AI is not great. That said, the graphics are much, much better than Polytopia’s, and I like the gem reward system and the fact that I can actually play the game without internet. Maybe games don’t allow that, which sucks on the subway.

Very fun and strategic game
This game reminds me heavily of total war I think that’s why it’s such an amazing game wish you didn’t have to pay for most of the factions though we the players should at least have a chance to buy them with in game currency like gems but you can only buy them with real money except for the Indian faction but still you get my point the game would do expediently well if you just made the game easier the use and play instead of having to buy most of the factions anyway I’ve rated 5/5 it’s great just needs some balancing with in game currency and making the other factions easier to acquire without having to pay money

Phenomenal game but...
I love the game. With the same feel as Polytopia, the game is challenging and interesting. I was expecting to unlock tribes with the rubis however it seems that you actually have to pay 1.99 to 2.99 per tribe which seems rather unreasonable, considering tribes in Polytopia per example, range from .99. It’s too much and unfortunately, that makes it pretty repetitive. Now that I’m stuck with 4 tribes, it’s getting pretty boring pretty fast.
Consider more reasonable prices or allow us to unlock them by progressing in the game at a cheaper price. I would gladly work for the 3000 rubis purchase and like .99 per tribe.
I understand the cost of development but the full ticket cost is currently au par with hi res games with much more ai dynamics.

Polytopia rip off?
It’s has better graphic on unit and maps but the concept is from Polytopia.
WAS a great game until latest update
I like this game a lot! I came from Polytopia (also a great game) and thought Hexonia had some good features that set it apart. I happily paid for each tribe as it came out and really enjoyed the gameplay. But, like seemingly every app, in an attempt to be perceived as ‘advancing’ the developers have embraced the ideology of it’s not done until it’s overdone. Before the last update you could simply pay, with undisguised real currency, for any tribe you wanted. Simple. Done. Now, you are REQUIRED to have a Game Center account and to be logged into it to buy new tribes. And, you can only purchase new tribes with some quantity of virtual gems which can be purchased with real money. And, for good wallet-wringing measure, they’ve added stand-alone specialty characters that can game your advantage for the amorphous cost of more gems instead of a clearly expressed amount of money.
Good game. Crummy capitalization model.
What a shame.

Not the game it used to be...
Okay, so when I saw this update I was super excited to try out the new tribe. But then when I got in the Tribes I realized it needed to be bought. This isn’t the best update I was expecting!!! And now there is “quests” and new units and stuff like that. I DONT EVEN HAVE A GAME CENTER ACCOUNT! Make a update where you don’t have to buy ANYTHING and make new achievements where everything you can get. WORST UPDATE! Please reply.

Add a zombie tribe. It might be pretty cool! The Start will be meat. And The guardian will be a Giant Zombie. It’s Special Power will be Infection. Whoever died by this tribe, it will become a zombie. $3.99!

Absolutely fantastic
I love this game so much ! There’s just enough of a difficulty curve to make it a challenge but I do wish there could be new content soon, I suggest a campaign or challenges with a set amount of turns
Great fun game, right level for a quick battle
Lovely game, graphics and animation looks great, then the gameplay was better than I expected, it's a bit unusual - like costs go up as you get more cities with initially was strange but I quickly got the idea - it might make me think more about researching before capturing more city's. I real the other reviews and they are complaining about wanting more FREE stuff, it's sad that they don't realize if it's all free the developer gets nothing! If you even like the game a bit it's worth 1.99 I liked the free stuff it was more than enough to know this is a game I want, so I have bought some teams.
Ideas: larger maps and more variety would be nice for longer games, but I enjoy the smaller games for short trips and between work breaks.

Best strat game
This is easily the best trategy game on ios. To people saying it lacks depth I say that it’s balanced simplicity is a feature, not a bug. The only thing I would change is the addition of a map builder, the ability to select map size independent of opponent count, same device multiplayer, bluetooth/wifi, and internet multiplayer.
Update: I dropped a star because of the completely unnecessary requirement to be online to be able to select the purchaced tribes!
