The interest the banks gives is absolutely negligible. If you prefer to do some good with that money just being used by your bank to fund who knows what, this is the best option.

Love micro lending
Micro lending makes me happy. I love to support entrepreneurial individuals and groups. I find the Kiva platform and website very easy to use. I have been a Kiva lender for about 14 years and I highly recommend it.
Fun, easy and secure way to give
Have been using the website for years. Got my husband on board, too. Very easy way to make a bit of money go a long way, lending the same capitol over and over agin. Love feeling that my money is out there in many different countries, reaching individuals who ordinarily would have difficulty finding support. Love being able to search to give to people needing health support, environmental causes etc. just switched over to using the app.

Mostly good but needs work
App functions ok but i find its mostly a port of the website, which is fantastic in terms of ux and function. I know being a non profit of hard to find money for good developers and custom work, but it's really hard trying to convince younger to take part without a slick app.

Scammy
This seems like a great app. Until your account won’t let you log in, customer service won’t respond, and you lose all the money you’ve loaned out. I’ve reached out numerous times and while I’ve been responded to TWICE, they fail to resolve the issue and stop responding. Basically I have money that has been paid back to me, but I’m unable to withdraw it or loan to someone else because I’m unable to access my account - online or on the app.

I have been investing with Kiva since their very early days. And they are my favorite micro-lending program I have ever known. I have been on the other end in countries where folks are applying for these loans and there are so many amazing stories that come from loans that help someone starting with a $25 investment. I love this app and this group!

Great app for a great cause!
This app works really well. Kiva is a fantastic cause. I have been lending for about ten years and have always been repaid but more importantly, I’ve been able to support women in lives similar to mine but with very different countries and possibilities.
Lot of Bang For the Buck
Kiva and the Kiva App are a great way to teach a man to fish and them lend the resources to be successful at it. I’ve been a Kiva believer for 7+ years and think micro loans are a powerful way to improve the world we live in.
