  • Love this app, disappointed with the subscription model

I love the functionality of this app, it has made my process much easier to follow and recreate! Absolutely invaluable for keeping track of where pieces are while firing in a community studio.

However, I am very disappointed with the choice to use a subscription model with the latest update. The new features added seem like a significant improvement and reflect what the community was asking for, which is great work from the devs! I would have much preferred a one-time payment to access the broader functionality of the app. With something like a pottery app where I’ll be using it more intermittently as a hobby potter, a monthly subscription does not make sense for me financially. I would be much more interested if it was a one time payment, even if that payment was on the higher end of app pricing.

Hi Little Dishes Crafts, Thank you for sharing your feedback! We're glad to hear that the app has been so helpful for your process and in managing your pieces at the studio! And we do appreciate your thoughts regarding the subscription model. Our goal with the subscription is to continually support and improve the app, ensuring we can provide ongoing updates and new features based on community feedback. However, we understand that a one-time payment option might be more suitable for some users, especially hobbyists like yourself. We'd genuinely love to hear more about your thoughts on this. Please feel free reach out to us at [support email address] so we can discuss your suggestions and explore potential future pricing options together. Thanks again.
  • Yay! New and improved ver!!

Thank you so much for adding multiple options for choosing pics. That’s helps a lot. I have been using this app for a while now, and I really like it. May I suggest one thing though? It will be really awesome to have an option for hand-building. When you go to the app to add “new piece,” there is an option for ‘thrown.’ It will be nice if hand-building option is added on that same tab or have an option of it’s own. I hope I am making sense of what I am saying!😅 Anyway, this is just a suggestion because I really like your app. Thanks for the new and improve update.⭐️

Thank you for your feedback and kind words, they are much appreciated! The ability to record shaping methods other than wheel throwing is one of the most requested functionalities and we are considering ways to add it. We are also glad to announce that the ClayLab Facebook group is being launched as a place where users can share their feedback and discuss new features and improvements; we hope you will like to join it. Thank you again!
  • Awesome App for Ceramics/Pottery

The creator of this app really makes pottery/ceramics! The effort and thoughtfulness that went into this app is evident. I will now know where my pieces are in the process of being made. I will be able to log what went into my pieces (size, weight, clay body, shape, glazes, underglazes etc). to be able to replicate what I liked as well as combinations to avoid. I will also be able to look up pieces and be able to see photos of my work. Again, very well thought out app and I look forward to using it over the summer when I take classes at a new facility.

Dear ibahammer, thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to write this, you just made my day. Can't wait to show you all the new features that I've been working on the past months, and I hope you will find them useful. Again, thank you for your support. 🙇🏻‍♂️
  • Fun app!

I’m new to wheel throwing, and instructor told someone in my class about this app last week when I was absent. My fellow student told me and I loaded it during this week’s class. I was very quickly able to start using the app. It’s really fun. I can keep track of your pieces, the glazes, and also special notes about the piece. I can take pictures as time progresses to see how each piece changes. The only thing I haven’t figured out yet is how to change (correct) a glaze color or a location if I add them in the app. I’m not sure if it’s me who can’t figure it out or if it’s the app that doesn’t offer that capability.
In any case, I love this app! What a great idea.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this review LoriD - I'https://www.facebook.com/groups/claylabm stoked to hear that you find ClayLab useful! As for renaming (or deleting) a glaze or.....anything custom you create: you can do that by going to settings --> glazes --> tapping on the info icon. And If something else is not clear you can always ask our community on FB: https://www.facebook.com/groups/claylab Thank you!
  • Immensely useful

I can’t recommend this app more highly. The most useful aspect is being able to track which stage your pieces are at and their locations. If you are working in a studio with many others, it would otherwise be tricky to remember which pieces should be coming out of their bisque or final firings and when pieces go missing. The ability to keep track of which glazes you have used with photos of their results is also immensely helpful. As a newbie I also like the ability to track the development of a piece from thrown to trimmed to finished with photos. As the pieces are ordered by date I can also see how my skills are developing. I can’t believe it is free and so well designed. Thank you!!!!

  • Gift from the kiln gods

Rock solid way to organize pieces for an amateur like me. Like the ability to edit all the options and does a great job sorting. Only beneficial feature to add would be if the pictures taken in the app showed up in their own folder in photos. Other one would be to have a graveyard category for pieces that got trimmed through / exploded / didn’t come out properly before a final stage so it doesn’t junk up your other in process pieces. Thank you tho - great great app!

  • Great glaze log

What a lifesaver! Helps me keep track and options are customisable- could do with adding a feature re firing range

    Developer Response

Thank you so much for your review @Mogthecat - I appreciate it. A solution to log firing range and type is in the works - hang tight!
  • Great app

This app is perfect and just what I was looking for, must have been made by potters as it covers everything you need. I love the way I can easily track where my pieces are, note the glazes and it is fully customisable

Love hearing that it's helping you in your pottery journey. Thanks so much for taking the time to write this review, I truly appreciate it!
  • Great app - filtering glazes

Hi this is a great and really nice to use app, it would be great if we could filter the glaze list (and maybe other lists) but a strong match input e.g “may” would return all glazes matches eg Mayco products.

But I’ve only started using this app today and really love it already

    Developer Response

Thanks for taking the time to write this review and for your suggestion - it's something I'm working on so...stay tuned! Best
