  • Straight forward and easy to use!

I started a Google sheet to track the timing of my pieces, since I share a studio with 99 other people and need to remember from week to week what I have been working on. This app is much quicker to use (I would take pictures for weeks and then spend hours when I had time, updating the Sheet). With this app, I simply open the work in progress, snap a picture and make a quick note. It’s so easy to navigate and I’m looking forward to some of the upcoming improvements that are promised! Joined the Facebook group too, so I can be part of the community. Well done!!

  • Best Pottery app so far

    :)

Thank you so much for your review, we are going to make it better than that 💪
  • Almost great

Love a lot about this app, but there are a couple big things missing.
    What’s to LOVE:
    • track all the fields you can track; clay body, form, dimensions, weight
    • track the timing and places for the phases; thrown, trimmed, bisque,
    • keeps pieces grouped by where they are in phases.
    • image uploads (nit sure if there’s a limited number but I’ve uploaded several for one)
    • piece name and ability to change it.

    What are the MISSES:
    • Most potters will throw several pieces at once, but you have to record all info one at a time. I’d like to choose 6 pieces, and add the claybody, throw/trim date and locations for all of them at once (maybe even form, glaze and other fields if they are the same)
    • if you have recorded a later phase date/location you cannot go back and record or change/correct a previous phase without losing the info of the later phases. Annoying.
    • No export. It would be so great to be able to export a printable excel or pdf with an image and the key info for the whole archive so I can see it all at once.

  • Best App for keeping track of your pieces

I use this app everyday to keep track of my pieces, glaze combinations and clay bodies. I use a community kiln and wheel currently. This app helps me keep up with all of my pieces and where they are in each step of the process. I can refer back quickly to see which clay & glaze combinations I used. I use the notes section for # of layers and techniques. I am hopeful they will add the ability to count layers of glaze to the next upgrade.

  • Great Tool for managing your pottery process

Really like the structure of this pottery management app. I am able to not only keep track of the varied pieces I have in different stages of completion but I can also have a record of what I made when and where it ended up, along with all of the profile info I would want; clay ,shape and dims, glazes and underglazes etc.

Ability to add my own data; locations, materials etc along with a notes section makes it very flexible.

Finally I can photo record each piece at each step of the process which is unbelievably helpful in a community studio where so much looks alike. Would like to see the photo option allow for a default choice (camera or photo list). I usually choose the camera option and take a pic in place.

  • Suggestion

I really like this app in that it allows me to keep up with each piece I make and in what stage they are in. I like that I can keep up with clay body and glazes too.

My biggest wish is that I could sort my items by type of item, or sold / in house, glaze type, etc. almost as if there were different shelves that items could be put on according to what I need to see. Or if items could be searched by categories not just sorted into pottery stages.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review, we appreciated it! As for the ability to view your pieces not sorted into pottery stages only - we are working on a filtering and searching functionality right now, and we plan to release it in the next month so...hang in there! In the meantime you may want to keep an eye on both our fb page and and the fb group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/claylab), where we'll announce upcoming functionalities and ask for feedback on early designs. We hope to see you there, and thank you again for the support! The ClayLab Team
  • Super Helpful App

This app is really helpful for tracking your pieces throughout the creation process. It is very customizable, giving you the ability to add your own glazes, clay bodies, forms, locations, etc. For me, it serves as a photo journal of my work. My biggest piece of feedback is that there is no way to backup or export your entries. I worry that if I lose my phone or the app gets deleted, all of my meticulous records will be gone. On a future version, a backup or export feature would be greatly appreciated. But for now, really enjoying the app. Thank you!

  • Most excellent

A very useful and easy to use app. Perfect for keeping track of your work especially in group class. Also great for noting down which glazes you used so you can repeat methods, I always think I’ll remember what i used but then I don’t! Being able to keep a photo archive is great too. All round such a wonderful app. Thank you!

  • Great app

I love this app … it is a great way to keep track of my work. It would be nice if we could categorize pieces i.e. mugs, bowls, platters etc and/ or if you could do a search.
Glad to hear you are working on having it sync between Ipad and Iphone that will be fantastic.

    Developer Response

Thank you for the support - it means a lot! In regard of the ability to sync across devices we are going to ask for input on the upcoming weeks on our Fb group (www.facebook.com/groups/claylab), feel free to join the conversations and share any ideas you have to make ClayLab better.
