It transfers images from my Canon to my iPhone

It transfers images from my Canon 4000D to my iPhone SE. I worked for hours with the Canon app before giving up on it. I had no problems connecting with the WiFi and working with the Canon & iPhone using this app. I was not trying to do a lot with it, no videos or live stuff. What I did was shoot pictures outside with the Canon, then I came back in the house and got on the Canon’s WiFi which was shown on my iPhone settings and I got on this app which is on my iPhone and viola! I selected the pics to save to the iPhone photo album. Don’t be sidetracked by “No internet connection” ignore that. So anyway I compared photos from the iPhone to the imports from the Canon and found the Canon pics were slightly better, despite having been sent through WiFi. I got the Canon 4000D expressly for astrophotography and I had to have WiFi capability. So a few minutes ago I got the $24 (I think it was) package. Because it works for me. Does what I need.

Good app but…

Photos saved to the camera roll are not originals from the camera - they appear to be 2.7meg thumbnails.

Canon camera connect saves the originals intact with all detail and Exif data.

Can this be changed ?

No Liveview -Canon 80D via USB

Downloaded and on 1st day for free trial. USB cord between Canon 80D and iPadPro M1. Upon launch, sees my Canon 80D and it asks connection type, select USB and app goes right to image transfer screen. No option to go to Liveview. Support compatibility says Canon 80D is pro level support so should be able to get Liveview but no instructions on how to get to LiveView. I specifically wanted this app because Canon’s app can only do WiFi connection, I need usb connection. Good thing I did not pay for this right away.
Developer says to start the Trial, which I did…. I see in a prior issue that iOS version does not support USB connection so that must be why I only see file transfer and no otherootiobs like LiveView and use iPad as a second monitor…. Canon Connect onky uses wifi so I know the connection is bad to Canon 80D… with no usb options, this app useless to me.

hi, in my app you always see the files after connecting. to get to liveview select "Liveview" from the menu. you need Pro or Trial version to be able to do this. you see your version on the top left. if you see the text "CCC Trial" then you have the trial version. to be able to use usb you need at least ios 14.2 and the "apple camera connection kit".

just start the free trial to unlock all features of the app. the app asks to start the free trial after the first connect. Later you can select "Start trial" from the menu.

Best Canon camera remote controller

This is without a doubt the best Canon camera remote controller. It works beautifully with USB-C - so there is no lag and even has a beautiful manual focus mode.
Lots of tools for the viewfinder and also works in Video mode.
This is the app Canon should’ve developed.

Great EVF app Nikon Z7 & Z6II

Have been looking everywhere for an (Electronic View Finder) EVF app for iPhone and iPad for Nikon DSLRs - Nikon Z7 & Z6ii. Works with iPhone 15 Pro Max over USB! This app is the goods. Perfect & what I was looking for. Can control everything I need remotely from my iPhone and iPad and I don't need an expensive remote display. USB connection works really well. Will be invaluable for night landscape and astronomy photography. Does intervals too. Developer is actively advancing this app, great to see. Impressive!

Nice but…..

They app is really nice and user friendly…. But in video mode i noticed a good delay and lag, witch is not really useful :S
(Using Nikon z50)

Buggy to the point of useless.

Really needed to tether my Nikon d7100 to a screen. This seemed ideal. The trial version only allowed me to view what was on the memory card, so basically pointless. I took a punt and shelled out the 8 quid or so for a years subscription. It works for one picture. After that it would take a picture but froze as it was trying to display it. Shame as I really needed the facility this potentially could give me, and I’ve thrown money away.

hi, D7100 is fully compatible. it is probably just a setting of the camera. also try with other lens. try with other sd card. everything that works with the trial also works after a payment. this is the purpose of the trial. to see if all features work with your camera. for a refund please go to https://reportaproblem.apple.com/

Really good app and simple

I did enjoy the app and how simple it was to setup. Every featured worked on the Canon R7. I was able to control all parameters from the phone and lag was little to none when using a USB Cable. I tried wifi and I was actually surprised on how latency. It was much faster then I expected.

One thing I wish I had was live view full screen mode.

An app that works well

Finally a decent, straightforward, cost effective app that allows you to do the complex stuff easily. The file transfer apps that Canon provide are very poor in comparison.
