Use the Object Selection and Select Subject tools to make quick and detailed selections when you’re combining images and fine-tune them with the Refine Edge Brush. Convert layers into Smart Objects that you can transform in a nondestructive way.
PAINTERLY EFFECTS:
Blur the lines and soften distinct edges with the Smudge tool, which simulates the effects of painting with a wet paintbrush. Smudge, mix, and blend to create an original masterpiece. What's New in Adobe Photoshop
5.5.2
May 2, 2024
A bug fix has been added to address an issue that arose with the previous update.
Or at least let me turn it off. When trying to use the scale & distort tool to fine-tune a layer, the controls either refuse to budge, or snap to some invisible anchor on another layer. There are no workarounds. If it doesn’t like where you want to put things, you cannot put them there.
Update: still bad. Also, the AI tools are incredibly frustrating. It thinks hands are pornographic, so if it doesn’t draw the hands right on the first try, you can’t use generative fill to try to correct it. For starters, most innocent terms (like “fingers”) are censored in prompts — it won’t even try to generate. Very hard to tell the AI what you want it to do when it prohibits you from using normal words to describe it. Worse, there’s a whole host of baffling terms that are censored, like “pool” (had to use “a large container of water used for swimming”). Once you find a prompt that gets past the censor bot, then it draws something that it finds so filthy it won’t show what it drew, and scolds you for trying. When it finally does output something, it cannot draw anything like human anatomy at all, so you get Cronenberg nightmare-fuel globs of flesh instead.
