DO NOT USE WITH CHAdeMO CHARGERS!
Taking a road trip through Ohio using a Nissan Leaf. They require CHAdeMO chargers, and the typical CCS is NOT compatible with the car. The Electrify America app gave me directions to a station that has 1 CHAdeMO charger but 7 CCS chargers. The CHAdeMO charger will not reliably connect to Nissan Leafs, and I had a "cannot connect to car" error. EA support has no idea how to fix it and they will not reimburse you. This has happened not once but twice in a row, and now I am in the middle of nowhere and have to get a tow truck to take me about 70 miles from here.
If Electrify America was a successful network, they would either (1) reimburse for the tow and wasted time, (2) update the app/network to fix the CHAdeMO issue, or (3) update the app/network so it doesn't take you to stations that don't work (even though they say they are working). They have done none of this.
PLEASE, for your safety, do NOT use Electrify America if you use CHAdeMO, and do NOT rely on Electrify America stations in sparsely populated areas.

customer service not available
been using EA since 2021, and while it used to provide better access to customer service, things have gone downhill as they grow. It seems they’ve invested in charging stations but not in improving customer support at all. The service is worse than ever, calls now take over 20 minutes to connect, and the line often hangs up automatically after certain amount of waiting time, forcing you to start all over again.
To make things worse, charging stations are frequently broken and unfixed for over a month. Imagine long waits, with 7-9cars in line during peak hours. Even at midnight, there are still lines. Seriously no joke. The app disconnects so often adding more problems. I had to pay with my own card to charge because the system was down. EA didnt give me a credit last time, is this how EA makes money out of people who are on a free charge membership??? EA, if you’re giving out free charging vouchers, at least make sure the infrastructure and customer service can handle the demand. This lack of preparation is unacceptable and it is even more disappointing that EA is not improving at all for years.

Electrify America Fail
I’ve been using EA Pass+ regularly for 2 years with few issues that were easily resolved with a quick phone call to CS. I recently upgraded to iPhone 16 and at 12 recent EA charging stops the EA app upon swiping to charge immediately reports “Charger Error” and states options are to use NFC card reader on charger or call EA CS to initiate charge. I deleted and redownloaded app, cleared cache, changed credit card info, upgraded to IOS 18.1, and made 4 calls to EA CS. Using the NFC card reader did work to charge but did not included Pass + discount rate. EA CS states I have to call in so they can initiate the charge in order to revive Pass + discount, but after 30 minutes and multiple attempts they were unable to do so and submitted a ticket requesting reimbursement for the discounted rate. Three weeks with no response followed by another call to EA CS who stated no reimbursement would be provided and no refund for the Pass + membership. With access now available using an adapter at the reliable and fast Tesla Superchargers in the same locations for the same rate as non-discounted EA, I see absolutely no reason to continue to use EA if they are unwilling to make their app work or reimburse to receive the discounted rate when it doesn’t.

App functionality bad, charging network too
The only way to change from the Pass+ $7 monthly subscription to the free Pass plan is through the app. In my case that apparently doesn’t work, even though the app confirms the change. EA phone support answers quickly, but is wildly inconsistent in terms of helpfulness. After speaking with three different support people attempting to change my plan, I was instructed to delete my account since they couldn’t figure it out.
In general the $7 monthly fee for more reasonable charging rates, plus auto-reloading you account balance from a credit card to pay for charging sessions is super annoying. It would be a lot more user friendly to just have reasonable rates across the board, and do away with the subscription. Also just charging a credit card after a charging session would be a lot nicer and clearer than seeing an endless list of small auto-reload charges on my credit card. Perhaps that clarity is what they are trying to avoid.
I’ve found EAs chargers to be unreliable. At most locations at least one is out of order, and they often do not supply peak rates when they should. Their UI is not very good.
Back in the app itself, one of the three main menu items at the bottom of the screen is just an add to try and sell you a home charger, which is a big waste of space.
Overall I love electric vehicles, but do not like dealing with EA or using their app. Any time I can use a Tesla Supercharger instead I would 100% take that option.

Unethical and Frustrating Experience
I’ve been using Electrify America for my Polestar and am switching to a Tesla on Monday. I wanted to cancel my $7/month membership and stop the auto-reload feature before transitioning. It took me 15 minutes to figure out how to cancel the membership, but I spent another 30 minutes searching through the app and website trying to stop the auto-reload—with no success. I finally had to call customer service, and they told me the only way to cancel the auto-reload is to delete my entire account. This is completely unethical and feels like a deliberate trap to keep customers locked in.
I initially wanted to cancel because I wasn’t sure if I could use Electrify America with my Tesla. Now, even if it’s possible, I absolutely won’t. If canceling the auto-reload had been straightforward and they had been ethical and transparent, I would have gladly continued using their network with my Tesla if possible. I probably would have even purchased a CCS adapter to use their stations as my go-to when a Tesla Supercharger wasn’t available. But after this experience, I’m completely done with Electrify America. This level of difficulty in canceling a service is unacceptable and feels incredibly dishonest.

Useless if you are Canadian
It only works if you have a us credit card with a us zip code.
Don't work
Can't add a Canadian credit card
Not for canadian users
Can’t enter my credit card cause I am from Canada. And no the ###00 does not work.
Most unreliable charging network period.
I don’t know what the folks at Electrify do to mess up their chargers so much but you’ll pull up to a charger and plug in and pay with the app and nothing happens. You’ll then tap to pay with the app card then nothing happens. You’ll sign in as a guest and pay with your credit card and nothing happens. Then you’ll get fed up and anxious be you really need to charge and you’ll call the support line and after 20 minutes of waiting on hold they’ll offer to remote start the charge and nothing will happen the. They will offer to reset the charger, and have you try again and nothing will happen. This is assuming that A: there is a charger that is actually operational and B: there is a charger available because most places are packed and cars line up due to chargers not being available. Finally you will leave feeling absolutely horrid and drive to EVgo or BPpulse or ChargePoint and plug in and it will work flawlessly. No problems just plug in and pay and done. Why? Electricfy America why? I’m all done with you call me when you’re ready to be serious about charging.

Don’t rely on EA
Last year i was on a long trip and necessity charging at a remote EA station. Something went wrong and it wouldn’t charge (i think that was my first charge on the EA network). I called support, they answered per quickly and although slightly rude and very weird (sounded like this person was at home on a headset so sound quality was terrible which makes it extremely hard to communicate error codes, details and station numbers etc) within about 15 minutes the problem was resolved and my car started getting power. Cut to yesterday, thankfully i was not in danger of gettingstuck side of the road but i was very low state of charge near my home. Station broken, called support and no answer for fifteen minutes of hold. Two stars because i have successfully charged 3 times on EA but i hate that i have to reconsider whether to take trips that rely on EA. It’s bad for everybody when some trips the only option at certain points is an unreliable network. Also i updated the app yesterday and today it says it needs another update.
