Perfect for Speeding Through Videos/Audio
When I listen to podcasts, I always utilize the 1.5x-2x speed and wanted to figure out how to do that on my Macbook. I came across this app and it works perfectly!! I don't even have to open the app in order to accelerate a video because I have it as an extension in Safari. I simply press "D" to speed up the video and "S" to slow it down (this shortcut can also be edited). If you are like me and enjoy consuming content rapidly, this is the app for you!

Youtube Quality Downgrades
It seems like when I play videos on 2x, YouTube will automatically downgrade me to 360. My connection can definitely handle 1080 at that speed and if I manually adjust it, it works fine. Not sure if that's something Accelerate is doing/causing or not but I don't seem to have this problem outside of this extension.

Not with Live Stream
It works great for downloaded or pre-recorded stuff but totally screwed up live streaming from ESPN, Xfinity, CNN etc. Sadly, I had to uninstall for now during the US Open. Please fix and let us know when you have an update. Thanks
video becomes silent when playing for a few minutes
I have to pause and replay the video constantly to fix it. That really annoys me.
Almost perfect
This extension is super great! I just have 2 small suggestions that I think would make it much better. One, I wish the video didn't pause for a split-second as you're changing the speeds and two, I wish there was a small, slightly transparent notification that you could put in the corner so you could see what speed the video is playing at without actually having to change the speed to see.

Hi shamrocksread, thanks so much for the feedback and kind review! There is actually a shortcut to show a notification with the speed you are on without having to change the speed (the default key is “V”, but you can change this in the preferences if you’d like). The split second pausing is unfortunately a known issue actually caused by Safari’s video processing that happens anytime a playback setting is changed.
It worked, but messed up my audio once I uninstalled it
Once I no longer needed the application, I removed it from my computer. However, ever since then, my audio has been distorted in Safari at higher speeds. It works fine for normal speed but when I try to speed up a video on youtube or another site it sounds gravelly and distorted. It still works fine on google chrome. I have tried restarting, private mode, clearing cache and cookies, reinstalling, but nothing has worked. I believe there may have been a bug on this application that messed up my audio. If there is a fix I would greatly appreciate it as the application has forced me to switch from Safari to Chrome.

Couldn't be better
What a fantastic, free app! It is one of the few video speed playback controllers for Safari and it works realy well. My only concern would be that it distorts sound slightly at higher playback speeds, but hopefully they manage to fix this in a future update.
