I hate the new design layout

Why why why. The new design is so bad. I hate the note button when taking the test. I hate that when you click the explain button it only goes up like 25 percent of the screen from bottom. I hate that i kept accidentally touch the note button. And it’s very annoying when try to pull the explanation to see the full explanation after giving the answer in the quiz. Ugh!!

This app is exactly what I’ve been looking for. The lessons are not for the faint of heart, but keep plugging away at the roadmap. Diligence pays off. I’ve only had it about three weeks and I’m learning a TON. So sorry I wasted a year with Mochi Kanji. I’ve learned a lot more than I have with two years of Duolingo Japanese. That being said, Duolingo is also good for learning vocabulary, hiragana, katakana, and kanji. But Migii really brings home the explanations and conjugation that Duolingo lacks. If you do download Migii, please be sure you have the hiragana and katakana down pat. Knowing kanji is also useful. The pairing of Migii and Duolingo is a powerful combination for learning Japanese. Excellent!!

Predatory freemium

I was unable to evaluate the whole app on the free tier, so difficult to say what value you would get with this app over the long term if you paid, but the review title is accurate: - Obnoxious ads (unskkippable, automatically opens the App Store, small target area for closing, before and after each lessons…). - After 11 days of following the roadmap, discover that in fact only 1 type of exercise (kanji practice) is in the free version. - Pricing model is misleading: e.g. pretending that the lifetime cost is £240 whereas the maximum price in App Store is £130 (and similar pretend discounts for other tiers)… There are other apps for preparing JLPT that are either completely free or with a less aggressive monetisation approach.

New functionality

Hello! I think it would be incredibly beneficial for learners to get full sentence readings for all exercises in every portion of the app. This would increase input while also helping with sight recognition of kanji and their correlated readings.

Good idea, bad execution

Lots of practice problems is great for learners, but for somebody serious about getting a perfect score or always being perfect there are too many mistakes. I’m fluent in Japanese and just wanted to review so I did some N1 tests or problems and noticed a couple mistakes. Not worth paying for if you are fluent probably… and if I did pay I would just pay for a month(because I just want a quick review), why does it force you to pay for 3 months at once…couldn’t find a way to just test it for a month, you guys should have like a free trial for a week or two or something to give people that are more advanced a chance to see if they actually can review the language or something…
I don’t get why the tests have mistakes in them when you have so many users and financial support, please higher a professional Japanese proof reader. If it was a free app I could forgive the mistakes.

Erased Progress - paid for lifetime upgrade

Like others on here I upgraded to premium and eventually the app stopped working. I can’t access any lessons, it keeps saying to upgrade to premium (already bought) and regardless it’s saying “you need to download lessons for offline mode” I’m clearly online…

It was nice when it worked, but considering this glitch or whatever seems to happen frequently I’m not sure it’s worth paying for.

Great app, great service

Maybe the best app to prepare for JLPT - clear interface, interesting ways to learn, very comprehensive. Service is also great: forgot password and didn’t upgrade the app - had my premium account restored in minutes through the FB messenger with kind and professional human assistance. Hugely recommend.

glitchy, frequent error codes

i paid for the year membership and enjoy using the app when it works however, unfortunately i am constantly receiving error 404 messages when attempting to complete exercises (listening) and when using the roadmap feature. the app also prompts me to download content in order to complete the exercises when i am connected to wifi and/ or cellular data. i regret paying for the premium version, but am glad i didn’t pay for the lifetime membership as it is very costly.

Great app but no need to put all options in hirakata or katakana more kanji form needed for understanding and learning kanji
